Hi ladies... looking for some advice here on the boys. They are 4 months.
I asked the pedi at the 2 mth apt about E's head b/c he had flattening on the left side b/c he loves to position towards that side. His head hasn't gotten worse but also hasn't gotten much better. He is starting to roll and sleeps in his crib at night. During the day, he usually naps in a swing or occasionally the chest carrier if we are out and about. We have a tortle hat that he was wearing during naps so he can't rest on the left side but I've gotten lazy with it.... probably need to start using it again. Having him nap in his crib is almost impossible since it is upstairs and I have to keep eyes on the other baby and toddler... plus the stinker only likes to nap for 45 min at a time anyways so it's not like he's in the swing for long periods of time. The only time he is in is bouncer is to eat b/c I tandem feed them. When he's awake, he's on his back or tummy on the mat playing or bumbo seat, or held in sitting/standing.... just depends on what he is in the mood for. I'm positioning toys on the right and changing crib sides. Also feeding so he has to look right. He is getting a lot better about resting towards the right but does still favor the left side. The Dr. said she's not too concerned and to keep all that up and we'll see how it looks at his 6 month apt. But she said if I wanted to, I could have him seen now. At this point, I'm thinking wait till 6 mths? Thoughts?
Now onto the G man. So he was baby A and spent a lot of time down low in my pelvis. He was born with overriding plates on the back of his head and the back of his head is quite flat. His head is growing but the shape of it does not seem to be improving. His pedi initially wanted to refer him now to a specialist but then I asked if his CT scan from the skull fracture in late April would tell us anything. The Dr reviewed the report and said that it doesn't say anything about early closure of suture lines (or really much at all about skull except where the fracture is) and that if it were an issue, it should have been noted. So she is ok with waiting until 6 months to see how his head is but she's also ok with us taking him in now if we want. So.... what are your thoughts on this? Obviously the CT looked at the skull and brain, so should I assume that all is ok and just needs more time or do you think I should pursue having him looked at now?
Having him looked at requires a 1.5+ hr drive to the city and then of course, I have to have someone watch L and E.
Blah.... can't they just have round heads dang it!
Thanks ladies!
