Speaking of mixed drinks...you know what's amazing with gin? Polar Orange Dry soda with a lime wedge. So good.
I have no idea what this is, but this sounds delicious.
Yeah I think it might only be available in the Northeast. I know my friends in TX couldn't find Polar products down there. It's like a grown up orange soda. It's not sugary sweet like regular orange soda. You think soda would survive shipping? I could mail you one. I like it even better than tonic with gin.

I don't see why it wouldn't... beverages get distributed world wide all the time.

PM your address. If there's one thing we agree on, it's beverages. You'll love it. I'll send it later this week once we dig out from the blizzard. Make sure you buy yourself some nice gin so you're all ready when it arrives

I just ordered $80 worth of caramels for J for his birthday or Valentines Day or something. I plan on eating some before I give them to him. And then after I give them to him too.

I am terrible at Valentine's Day. I never know what to get DH. I wish I could just give him freaking candy and flowers and be done with it like half of the planet.
If/when my husband has ever sent me flowers it makes me stabby.
This sounds like my BFF before she got married. When any of her boyfriends would give flowers, she assumed they were apologizing for something and not giving them just to be nice.

It's not that. It's that it makes me mad that he wasted money on something that is going to die in a few days-lol

Let me put some pepper on that foot in my mouth...

My husband always gets home from work basically just as the bedtime routine is over and everyone's in bed. Which most nights feels like he gets home just in time to ruin my me time.

Omg YES.
Mine is home all evening, but 90% of the time he conveiniently finds sonethhing in the basement or garage that needs his attention during bath and homework time. Twice last week he showed up after the boys were down and was all "so do you feel like giving me a backrub?" I may have laughed in his face.
Do it! Mmmm marshmallows... As soon as I have time in the bakery (maybe Thursday), I'm going to try making smoked marshmallows by infusing them with Lapsang Souchong tea. And then serving them up with maple snaps and chocolate.
Omg MapleMe I really want you to get hooked up with that delivery service in my area! Imagine if your treats could be delivered weekly to my neighborhood?!?

Talking to them is on my todo list, but the other businesses that I know do business with them say that they aren't very flexible. As in, they're great to do business with, but they will only carry things that are available every week, not occasionally.

Hmmm that's a bummer. The farmer stuff varies. So does the meat (no lamb or steak some wks, different cuts, weekly fish options). And seasonal things like apple pies. But I guess not on a weekly basis? Still would be awesome to include some staples. It's on my to do list, too, to recommend you

Yeah, I struggle with getting stores/distributors to understand prepared foods that move with the farmers, not the customers. For a lot of my farmers market customers it's a selling point. But maybe the friend who told me that was wrong?
Oh, now I'm remembering the conversation. I think the issue is that you need to have a lot of the thing available because they have no way of stoping sales at 10 or 20 (for example). That actually wouldn't be bad. I could probably work around that. Especially if I were also making the same thing for the farmers market.
