Not really, but it has been a long time since I have been around. I hope everyone is doing well!

I was smoking some good crack one night because I had the brilliant idea that I was going to go back to school for my Master's degree in nursing. I only had 6 prerequisite classes to complete before I could apply for the program, so I decided it was an even better idea to take two classes in the winter (6 weeks long) and 4 science classes in the Spring. Taking that many science classes in one semester was truly a terrible idea and I am so glad that it's over.

I have always struggled with my weight but in the beginning of the year I decided to pursue bariatric surgery. I completed all of the requirements and I am scheduled to have the gastric sleeve on July 6th. For that I am very excited. 

Enough about me, I want to play a game. Share something that your damn near two year old did that was so brilliant it actually scared you.

After DH gets off work, he usually takes the boy to the park a couple of days a week (I usually don't go). One morning, the baby and me were outside in the front of the house and he just takes off walking down the street. For kicks and giggles, I decided to follow behind him to see what his plan was; I didn't say anything, I just followed. He walks towards the main street but instead of running out into traffic, he followed the sidewalk. He got to the crosswalk, tried to press the button, waited 3 seconds, and then proceeded to step off the curb to cross 6 lanes of oncoming traffic. I stopped him. He waited, saw the light turn green, and crossed the street. The end destination was the park. The boy actually walked to the park by himself.

Hey, lady! I thought you'd left us. The board has slowed quite a bit the last couple months; I think most of us are just busy with summer and family life.

DD speaks in complete multi-word sentences (e.g. "I want that book!"). DS was barely verbal at this age, like I could get a few animal sounds out of him, and that was it. She obviously gets her awesome language skills from me because I'm so verbose.

DD and I go for walks every day and when we get back to our street she always knows which house is ours. It's surprising given that they all look very similar. She knows her daily routine and always asks for what we usually do next... walk, Elmo, eat, na-night, etc. I love this age.

Hi starscream- you are definitely crazy to take that many science classes! Congrats on finishing your prerequisites nice to see you.

My DD knows the difference between a fly, ant, mosquito and spider.

Welcome back! My sister had the gastric sleeve done in January and has had great results. She is nearing her goal weight already and has had a great experience with it. It's still a ton of hard work, but hard work with reaults. Good luck to you!

DD constantly catches us off guard with how smart she is. She's at the stage where she thinks it's hilarious to point her index finger at us and answer "no" to everything we say. So we try to trip her up and give her more complex questions where "no" would be a silly answer, and sure enough, she grins and answers "yes!" Before switching back to "no".

She has also turned into a social butterfly and thinks that all strangers are her personal fan club. Whenever we are in public, she waves to everyone. If she is walking she will stop every 4-5 feet and want to do a full circle and wave to all her "fans". She also yells "hi!" To everyone. She has realized that yelling "hi" to people gets them to respond to you, which she thinks is pretty great. She also has her father's charm and knows how to use it to turn all adults into her willing servants.

This kid is going places.

I'm never good with these types of posts - I think my kid does amazing stuff all the time but can never seem to remember anything that's really truly amazing to post lol I guess I will say I'm amazed at how quickly she picks up on things these days. We've been adding in different body parts lately into out "where's your....." routine. Shoulders, knees and neck are all new this week. She is talking up a ton! We can understand a lot but somethings like "ahhh-meh-na"....no freaking clue what that means and she says it all.the.time

I'm always impressed when DS says or does something without prompting. Like we were walking up our driveway the other day and he stopped about halfway up, pointed at the rest of the driveway (which has a decent incline) and looked at me, then said "steep." Sure is, kid, but where did you learn that word?

starscream hey good to see you're doing good! Wishing you lots of luck during your procedure. That's always something I wanted to do myself but because my insurance don't cover it I'm waiting until we pay off the car before I take out another loan. We're so close to paying it off so it's not too much longer. Things are good with me. My 16 year old has a birthday next week. She's working at McDonald's and she's got a nice boyfriend so all is well with her. MH and I are TTC and so far no luck. It will be a year at the end of the month since we've been trying. other than that, life is good.
