Can I get a chart stalk, please? FF is giving me dotted CH for CD 17 but I'm questioning it: My Ovulation Chart *Trigger warning for chart: prior BFP & Loss*

Reasons I'd agree with FF: I'd had cramps, high sex drive and fertile CM immediately before and during CD17.

Reasons I think CD20 may be more accurate: Look at those low temps - CD18-20 was still hovering around the coverline. (My temps do increase more gradually - I haven't gotten a temp spike since my MC - but by 5 DPO they'd usually have hit = or >98.0.) OPKs through the morning of CD17 were negative and not even close. I had acute ovary pain CD 19. While my CM was creamy CD18-20, that pattern fits with previous cycles, including my BFP cycle.

Unfortunately, I don't have OPKs to back this up because I ran out on CD17 and am waiting to restock my Wondfos until CD1. Luckily, our timing is good either way. But I'd love a little clarity, for testing and because I've been keeping an eye on my short LPs.

What do you think: CD17 or 20?

That's a tough one. I could see it being either CD17 or CD20. I think if your temps keep rising to your typical 98 post-O range, then FF might move your (dotted) CH to CD20. I would lean towards CD20 being O day because you had negative OPK's around CD17, and it looks live you've gotten positive OPK's before O in past cycles.

You know your body best, but I would say CD 20 based off of your temps and lack of positive or close to positive OPKs. I also think your cover line should be higher than what FF is saying (probably should be between 97.5 and 97.6) based on all of your temps. I agree with ceejay, that if your temps in the next couple of days are in the same post-O range, FF should update the CH.

Could be either - especially with the fertile CM on CD 17. Luckily, your timing is good either way!

*lurking* if you put in dummy temps for the next few days that are more in line with your normal post-O range, does FF move your crosshairs? Based on temps alone I'd probably lean toward CD20.

I put higher dummy temps in through CD27 (Sunday) and it never moves my CH from CD17. I will have to override to pinpoint O on CD20.

Either way I'll try to wait to test until CD32, which would be either 15 or 12 DPO. Will probably just be crazier TWW than usual.

I think over the next few days that your chart will become more clear with more temps.

I'm really against over-riding FertilityFriend without some compelling information.

Remember that the point of pinpointing ovulation is to define your fertile window (and ensure that you had sex during it) and give you a rough estimate of when to expect your period.  Whether CD17 or CD20, you will still have all of that information.

I know that everyone wants all the accurate information all the time!!!!!!!111!!!  But, don't lose the forest for the trees.  Remember what you want to know from pinpointing ovulation.  Did you have sex in either fertile window?  Yes!  Good.  Do you know how long your luteal phase is and when to expect your period based off either date?  Yes!  Good.

One cycle without perfect data is okay.  Take what you have and use it to your advantage.  Don't lament that it isn't textbook.

Which is why I'm confused about FF dropping my CH into CD17. The post-"O" temps are basically the same as my average pre-O temps. I don't understand where they came up with their coverline.

Anyway, Oh Wise One, I will try to chill as much as I am able.

I agree that the next few days will be telling, but right now I personally still think the 17th was O day.
