Honestly, I'd call it just another fun symptom of pregnancy. Depending on baby's position, they can pinch nerves in your back. This is how I ended up with a wicked case of sciatica. I would treat it like any other back injury; massage, heat, soak in the tub, whatever. Unless it's accompanied by cramping or bleeding, I really don't think you have any reason to worry.

Hope you feel better soon, and I am glad you got some antibiotics. I think calling a doctor was a good call after experiencing shooting pains.
For future thread stalkers, I will just say that some back pain can just be a symptom of your normal uterus expansion activities. My doctor is not concerned by mild, intermittent lower back pain.
Never knew back pain could be a sign of this. I have had UTIs in the past & never had back pain with them. I have had normal pregnancy back pain, though. Also, what I was thinking was sciatica with my last pregnancy, I did some googling last time & learned that a common mistake for sciatica is SI Joint pain, also common in pregnancy. When I brought up that thought to my chiropractor, he did an adjustment in a different way & it actually helped for once!
Glad you got something & can hopefully start feeling better soon!
