I took both kids to apply for a permit for our fence. It look like 45 mins and the kids were so good. I was relieved because there wasn't really anything for them to do and I hadn't really brought anything to keep them occupied. But holy smokes that was practically our whole morning.
It's lovely here today so hopefully we can spend a decent amount of time outside enjoying sunshine.

We found out today that DH is going to get paid once from twice from his new school and once from his old school in August. This means we are in a much better place money wise. I am so happy. Even if his first check isn't a full check from the new school it should make up the difference the old school shorted us. YAY!
Hey, I'm new here, but thought I would just jump on in. Hope that's okay.
Nothing really going on with us today. We are stuck at home. I'm watching old episodes of Grey's Anatomy on Lifetime. It makes me said, because most of my favorite characters aren't on the show anymore.
It's fairly hot today, but the bright side of having to do lots of laundry and having laundry in the basement is that it is cool down there. It is a nice break from the running around upstairs in the heat as I reorganize, put away dishes and laundry and stuff, move boxes and furniture, and other physically active stuff on the to-do list for today. I am hoping it cools down a bit at a decent time so I can do haircuts outside and LO can play out there when it isn't his turn for a trim. We are mostly sticking to puzzles, games, and books during this warmest part of the day (he normally wouldn't do seated activities that much, but I bought him a little chair in his favorite color yesterday so the novelty hasn't yet worn off) - and we're eating ice cream.

I woke up with a horribly blocked ear. Tried a bunch of home remedies and nothing was helping, just making it worse and making it hurt. Now I sit in the dr office with drops in my ear so they can unblock it and I'm pretty sure they forgot I'm in here. I feel like I've been sitting here forever and it's getting uncomfortable.
Transitioning to mostly pumping and bottle feeding has been a little rough, but we're getting there. It is nice to not be basically changed to my bed for 2+ hours in the afternoon and again in the evening. It is also nice to be able to get out running again, now if only it wasn't so hot and muggy.
I took my oldest to get her teeth cleaned at the dental Hygiene school. My moms Friends daughter is going there and needs more kids to get her stuff done. It took 3 hours. I have to take my other daughter tomorrow morning. No way could I have done both of them together or in the same day.
Now we are hanging out at my parents for a little before we head home so I can work on dinner.
Hi! I posted on the intro thread yesterday! Today we went to a little library group and then met up with LOs great great aunt downtown and had lunch. It was a really nice visit. Now LO is napping and I'm recharging! younglove316 I hope they came back for you!! Did you have to bring LO?

Does anyone have any good outdoor activity ideas for a 15 month old? She just started walking so she's no pro yet but I feel like we should be getting out more. I try and do the zoo about once a week.

Find a nice shaded park and let her go to town. Indoor play places are food, too, and offer a bit more padding. You can always take bubbles, balls, or whatever else she likes playing with out in the yard to play. We are terrible about getting outside lately because it is already in the nineties and I don't like to be so hot.

My son was about that age last summer. We got a little inflatable kiddie pool for him to splash around in, and he loved it. We also would take him to the sandbox at the local playground (though had to watch closely or he'd eat it). Petting zoos are good fun if she isn't afraid of animals. I don't know where you live but if there's a children's museum nearby, those are great for hot or rainy weather and have interactive exibits for all ages of kids. Ours in Cleveland is amazing and Cincinnati also has one of the best I've seen.

amelandre funny you should say that because I am actually in the Cleveland area haha I've heard the Children's museum is really nice, I just wasn't sure if she would be too small for a lot of it yet. Have you done the aquarium? I've heard some not so great reviews so I'm hesitant to go.
Today was pretty uneventful here. DD had a fever yesterday and was acting pretty clingy. Today was about trying to keep the fever away, although she's acting like her normal crazy self. My husband also came home early since he scheduled 3 different ac companies to come give us quotes on a new unit today...ours died on Monday.
younglove316, not sure if you are looking for outdoor activities to do at home or away or both, but some of the stuff LO did (or still does) outdoors at home: painting (kid in just a diaper, large piece of paper, finger paints made from kitchen ingredients in case he tried to eat it), plastic pool with various toys, sandbox, wagon rides, baby/toddler swing, small slide/climbing toy, balls, trucks, etc. Rocks, sticks, leaves, pinecones, and other stuff just sitting around were entertainment too. He also liked helping pull weeds, dig holes, and plant "seeds" (mostly our crabapples as he thought they were seeds). You can also just take some indoor toys outside and play on a blanket if it is a nice day where you just want to get outside.

I was not super impressed with the aquarium, I thought it was really small for how expensive it was. I got spoiled living in Cinci with the Newport Aquarium though.
