Sorta old, so maybe you haven't seen... But I just started on the beginning seasons of 24. I never watched till the last couple seasons. The early ones are so good! I finished season 1 within a week. Yeah, super productive week of work.
DH and I are currently in the thick of rewatching the whole Gilmore Girls series..
They give GG on syndication on ABC Family every weekday from 11AM - 1PM. And they just rerun the entire series every time it wraps up. Yeah, seen it about a baggilion times now.
Wilfred is fantastic. They have a bunch of the original Twilight Zone. United States of Tara. Freaks & Geeks. Undeclared. For movies: Frank, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Red State, Prince Avalanche, Kinky Boots, Happy Christmas.
athn64 will check that out, jsquaree apparently we watch all the same stuff...and I just finished Gilmore Girls for the first time!! When it was on TV I was was in my early 20s, done school and too "cool" for TV. I missed some awesome shit! LOVE GILMORE GIRLS.
We got Hulu since Netflix stinks at getting new stuff. Of course we also dropped cable so Hulu is how we watch any tv now. If you are caught up on tv shows or have a dvr, it's not nearly as exciting..

I'm also watching gilmore girls for the first time. Can I say that I'm finding Lorelai's complete refusal to cooperate with her mom really annoying to watch? I may be weird, but I like Emily. She just wants to be included. Waaaah!
What else? I just watched Under The Skin (starring Scarlet Johannson) and it is strange, creepy, and kind of cool. BUT if you watch it, PLEASE FAST FORWARD through the whole scene that starts out on a beach where she's talking to a beach bum...just go straight through that whole beach thing (maybe have your husband do it). You won't miss anything that won't tear your heart out. I was disturbed for a couple of days now that I'm a mom. But the rest of it is cool.

My husband and I hate Lorelai! Haha.. she is so self-absorbed and irritating. Also.. the episode in the first season where she decides she wants to "cook" dinner (hamburger helper) and we realize that they eat takeout pizza, mexican, chinese or burgers for EVERY SINGLE MEAL just blew my mind.

Umm ya, I asked myself every episode how they are not 500 pounds. And yes, Lorelai downright irritating how she interacts with just about everyone. But I eventually felt like I grew to understand the loveable chip on her shoulder, and her intense need to chart her own way. I feel like I get her. Lame, yes.

Holy crap, there is some good/weird stuff on Netflix. We are currently rewatching Always Sunny and have now caught up on Bob's Burgers. Things we have watched/are watching that we loved (some are duh, obvious, some are not):
- House of Cards - Orange is the New Black - Breaking Bad (if you haven't watched it, please watch it. Please. It's literally the best thing I've ever seen on television.) - Maron - Louie - Legit - Portlandia - Trailer Park Boys (it really is so dumb, but a fun guilty pleasure to indulge in) - IT Crowd - Little Britain (we just rewatched that, too) - Hinterland - The Killing - Arrested Development - Fringe - Dexter (just stop watching after Season 5. Really, don't go on. You will be enraged.) - 24 - Black Mirror (like a modern Twilight Zone - pretty trippy) - Sherlock - Luther - Archer - The Walking Dead - Chuck
I forgot about Little Britain! That is the BEST show! Come Fly With Me is the same people, but I don't remember if it's on Netflix or if we downloaded it.

- Louie - Black Mirror - Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men, Mad Men Madddddd (sung to the opening theme of "Mad Men") although if you've watched anything on Netflix you've already watched Mad Men. That's OK...watch it again! It is even better the 2nd time! - The just put the first season of Roseanne up!! including classic gems such as the tornado episode, and the Booker + Jackie = LUV episodes (more like Booker + Jackie = sexual harassment but I digress) - The Killing - Season 3 of AHS - There's a Netflix cartoon about a has-been famous horse. I have mixed feelings but it's kinda good. - Bob's Burgers
ETA: all the PBS Frontlines, the documentary about taking the master sommelier exam (I believe it's just called Somm), and there's a decent mob show up right now (can't remember the name)
yvanehtnioj seriously, Mad Men is my favourite show of all time, I have watched it three times beginning to end of the first half of the last season...that's a mouthful!
That's what I love about Mad Men flockofmoosen - the character development is so slight and soooo much of the story is told through subtext and piecing it all together. I used to drive MH nuts talking about all the little changes and asking his opinion and if we watched an episode tired, late at night I'd drive him absolutely bonkers asking questions about the pieces I assumed I missed through the stories not exactly told. He would rant at me, "I just saw the same thing you did...my knowledge of that situation is the same as yours!!!"
I don't know if you've seen all of these movies but if not, they're worth a watch, Midnight in Paris, The Way Way Back, a few I saw at TIFF over the years, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (a little slow but love Emily Blunt), Spring Breakers (overall craziness), Byzantium (vampires), Hick (pretty intense but it's Eddie Redmayne before he was Eddie Redmayne)
