I'll lie with the rest of you, but would floss in a heartbeat over nails on a chalkboard.
I will be taking floss with me on our next vacation and tell fellow passengers that if they floss, my kid will stop screaming. - Scream away little one...
TMI? I have been flossing nightly for about a month now. It really only takes a short time and doesn't really suck as bad as I remember. DS1 is all about flossing lately so since he demands I floss his teeth, I am guilted into flossing my own. Oral hygiene just seems like a TMI issue for some reason.
Day 1 when when I meet new patients I tell them I have two expectations 1) if you have an appointment either show up or call to cancel and 2) if you aren't going to do what I recommend just tell me.
There is no point in saying "okay I will and then not doing it". There is no reason to play the game. And as the doc if someone isn't doing it, so what? Give them info to make an informed decision and move on. We are adults. We should be allowed (and respected) to make our own choices (mistakes). Don't get me wrong I encourage and help them to make the right choice for them, but it's just that...the right choice for them at this particular time.
::steps down from soapbox::
And FWIW, as soon as LB stops pestering me to floss, I'm totally quitting. It's just one step in his current bed time routine. It will fade just like all the rest. Lol!
