Hi ladies! I am 10+5 today and pregnant with twins, so I thought I would introduce myself. I got pregnant on my first FET after TTC for 2 years. I also have a 5 year old DS! I'm 33 and DH is 35.
I just had my 3rd ultrasound today with my RE. Baby A always measures 1 day behind and Baby B consistently measures 5 days behind. My RE said he isn't concerned because the growth has been consistent, but I can't help but worry a little. Did anyone else have a size gap when they were pregnant? Did the 2nd baby ever catch up or were they always a little smaller?
My RE is making me an appointment with an MFM. He said I should see her a few times during my pregnancy because they consider me AMA since I am over 32 and having twins. I look forward to getting to know you all!
Measuring differently is totally normal, especially for di-di twins. Do you know what yours are yet? When we first discovered my twins at 13w they were measuring 3 days apart. At my a/s at 19w they found a big growth difference and referrers to the MFM for the rest of my u/s. It turned out baby boy has a 2 vessel cord so they expect him to be a little smaller. All of my measurements since then have been given as weights and not weeks, and he has consistently been a little behind her. As long as the growth is within a certain percentage (usually 15-20% for di-di) they aren't too worried. You'll have regular growth scans to keep an eye on their growth and the differences.

Thank you! That is a huge relief knowing that other twins have had size differences. The twins are di/di. Even though it's been consistent growth, I couldn't help but worry.

They will still definitely keep an eye on it, but being di-di means they each have their own placenta and they aren't at risk of twin to twin transfusion, where one takes the nutrients more than the other. Other than the initial a/s (which was decided to be an error) theyve usually been within about 8oz of each other. at my last u/s at almost 35 weeks they were measuring about a pound apart, but at this point they aren't concerned and recommended I can continue on to my scheduled c/s. So some differences along the way are definitely normal and expected.
Welcome and congrats. I am pregnant with triplets but all three of my babies measure differently. At my first u/s they only saw two sacs I was around 5w. Second u/s at 6w showed three babies but one was a week behind. By the third u/s the smallest was measuring about 5days behind and the other two were measuring 2 days behind. My most recent u/s showed one baby measuring right on track, one a day behind, and the smallest at 2 days behind. All my doctors have assured me that as long as they have consistent growth that is all that matters. My doctors really think the third baby was an egg that released later and was fertilized later hence it not showing up at first and then being so far behind the others. So short translation, try not to worry as long as they are growing everything is ok!
Me:24 DH:27 Married: 12/15/12 BFP May 2014 from IUI #2 after 8 months TTC B/G/G triplets born on 10/22/2015 at 25w5d After a total of 140 days in the NICU all three of my miracles came home!
My boy has been consistently larger than my girl. At 15 weeks, it was a 25% difference, which scared me, but at 18 weeks she's catching up (only 12% difference now). I'm seeing an MFM and they are not concerned at all

Welcome and congrats!
Like others have said, ours have always been at least 10 percentiles or so different. When you look at the growth chart, notice how small the margins are on the left side of the curve! Babies can hope 30-40 percentiles just with a few grams. Moreover, those percentiles are based on some measurements taken on a blurry screen with a handheld mouse, and are known to not be terribly accurate. In fact, the most accurate measurements are taken in the first trimester and they'll just continue to be less and less precise as time goes on.
So, as others have said, it's totally normal to worry (we've all been there), but try not to lose too much sleep.
As mentioned before the gap is normal. At my 34 week u/s baby A measured 9 days behind baby B. I had a growth scan yesterday ( 37 w+ 1) and baby B weighs almost 2 lbs more than baby A but they have no concerns since both are very healthy and active.
TTC: 2/14 DX: w/PCOS:6/14 1st round of letrozole: 9/14- bust 2nd round of letrozole: 10/14- thought it was a bust BFP: 11/7/14 Discovered baby B (twins) 12/1/14
It's totally normal for twins to measure a few days apart, so try not to worry too much.
It's sounds like we'll have a similar age gap. My DD was a few months shy of 6 when my twins were born.
We will! DS will be 3 months shy of 6 if the babies come when they are supposed to I used to stress about the age gap when I struggled with secondary IF. Now, I'm so thankful for it! DS starts full day kindergarten in September which will allow me plenty of time to relax and finish up getting ready in the 3rd tri!

Thanks ladies for the reassurance and warm welcome! I actually just found out that I have an appointment with an MFM on Monday! I think it will do wonders for my mental health talking to someone who sees this a ton! My RE is amazing, but I can tell his specialty is in getting people pregnant. Then I meet with my OB on Wed. I have learned a ton from you ladies just from reading through the other threads so thanks again

Sounds just like us! We started trying when DD was 2 and suffered secondary IF and recurrent losses. DD started K in Aug and my boys were born in Sept. It's been so nice to have that time with just my twins.
Welcome and congrats! I think everyone has covered the size difference pretty well. Our di/di twins measured differently as well and all turned out well!
Welcome and congrats! I'm 23w with twins and my little guys seem to take turns weighing more. The one will catch up and surpass the other then the opposite will happen at the next appt. Your gap seems to be small between the two so I wouldn't worry. Rule of thumb for me is to not worry until a dr tells me to! It's hard not to worry though.
My di/di boys were always different sizes, in fact A was born at 6/11 while B weighed in at 5/1. At four months, A is still about 2 pounds bigger. Keep in mind, they are just siblings being born at the same time, so differences are to be expected! Good luck!!

Welcome and congrats!!
Our Baby A (di/di) measures a week and a half behind in abdominal circumference, which we found out at 25W. I don't want to bore/scare you with the rest of our story but we are still trucking along at 32 weeks! We are in the BEST of hands so try not to worry - all you can do now is take care of yourself (eat, rest, etc) and know that you're getting the best care from your doctors.
