TTMA discarding FF temps. I feel like FF very strongly discourages it so I hadn't done it before. This cycle I had two random high temps though that didn't make sense at all. If I include them, FF sets my cover line higher than it's ever been and puts my O date on CD 27. If I discard them, FF sets my cover line around normal and puts my O date on 25.
I'm so frustrated with this cycle because I really need to get my O date right to know whether or not my hormone therapy (autoimmune issue) is working. My LP has been 5-8 days and today is CD 8 with no cramps or spotting so it looks like a possibility that my LP might be lengthening. Unless it's really CD 6 in which case I should not be getting my hopes up about this.
Do you discard temps? If so, when? Just when you have a fever (illness or wine-induced)? Or also when it make your chart make more sense to you?
ETA: My sleep is also less than ideal as I rarely ever get more than 2-3 consecutive hours and wake at inconsistent times. I always temp around 5AM but sometimes that's after 3 hours of sleep and sometimes 1-2 so that certainly does not help.

I'm not the norm, but I discard if I know my temps have been altered by alcohol or illness. If it's poor sleep, I leave them, since sometimes the poor sleep doesn't change them, and sometimes it does.
You're looking for a pattern, not just at individual temps, but if they aren't accurate, they aren't helping your data.
My charts never make sense due to PCOS so I pretty much never discard temps. Can you think of a reason the temps are higher? I know you mentioned drinking or illness, but things as simple as the house being warmer or sleeping in more clothes than normal will impact your temps. If there isn't an obvious cause, I would leave them in even if it makes any ugly chart for the cycle
ugaqueencity, I couldn't think of any reason why they would be randomly higher but I feel like my temps are probably always somewhat inaccurate due to my inconsistent sleep patterns. Sometimes I'm up every hour, sometimes I sleep 4 hours straight. Sometimes I get up twice to pee, sometimes I don't get up at all. Sometimes I wear pants and socks, sometimes I wear shorts with barefeet. After this cycle I almost wonder if I should give up on temping for the time being. It used to lessen my anxiety since I always felt solid about my O date but now it's just increasing my anxiety since I have so many concerns about the accuracy of my temps and CH.

I only discard temps when I know they are related to drinking the night before, or I know my schedule was really screwed up (I woke up a lot before my alarm, temped too late, etc.) I totally hear you on wanting some clarity for your LP but I wouldn't discard those temps just to change your CH. This doesn't really help, but IMO CD25 and CD27 both look like possible O dates since you can O up to 48 hours after your last positive OPK.

I have never discarded a temp and I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you know a really good reason for why your temp was higher (like a fever/illness or a lot of drinking the night before). I know it is tempting to want to have a good looking chart but if it's not giving you an accurate picture of what is going on then you aren't helping yourself. FF can get it wrong sometimes. For what it's worth, from your chart does look like you Oed on CD25 to me, but because you didn't have a huge temp rise I can see why FF may say CD27 as well. I know it's frustrating but some months are just like that. Don't give up on charting, especially if you have concerns about a shorter LP, the charting will give you the info you need.
Is this your third cycle pp? I think it might take a handful of cycles for your body to figure out what is doing again and your ovulation patterns are very distinct. I wouldn't worry about having a LP problem juuuuuust yet, but I know that's easier said than done. :)

Also, the coverline thing isn't too terribly important, it just helps you see an ovulatory pattern. It's okay if it's higher than normal because of fluke temps. I wouldn't discard them myself. If FF feels like they're throwing it off, it'll actually discard them on its own, I've found.

Rama, It's my fourth so I'm sure that's a factor as well. My LP was always on the short side (7-10 days) though so I guess it was already on my radar. I added those temps back in and resigned myself to not having a solid O date this cycle. I am an over-analytical, metrics-driven person by nature so I really struggle with ambiguity. I know I need to relax, I just can't quite figure out yet how to do that. Besides wine, which I forsee in my very near future considering it is 4PM on a Friday...

Thanks cali, I think I just need to mentally let go of this cycle and accept that I'm not going to know 100% how my LP did. I don't have a good reason for the high temps so I did throw them back in the mix and let FF do its thang with CH on CD 27. And at least I do know that I O'd so there's that. I'll keep charting and hopefully next cycle will be a little clearer.
