Hello Everyone!
I started off in the Trouble TTC/IVF board, then happily joined the Pregnant after IF board, and now I've found all of you I'm hoping to gain some knowledge from some mommies of multiples.
I'm currently 23w2d pregnant with twin boys (fraternal). They were conceived via IVF and are already our little miracle babies. It's been amazing to watch them grow thus far and I hope and pray I can reach the bitter end of pregnancy to deliver two healthy babies. So far all is good so my fingers are crossed things stay that way. I've been lurking for a few days and thought I should finally come out of hiding and join the group. I love reading the birth stories on this board. You all give me hope that my body indeed can grow, bf, and care for two babies. MH and I are beyond excited and frightened to be having twins. I know they'll be worth every sleepless night and crazy moment.
Lately I've been having a glider research issue and I've read some info on this board already. I'm determined to have a glider that I'll fit in with babies, whether it be to bf (when upstairs since our room is downstairs), snuggle comfortably, or read stories when they're bigger. So if anyone has additional suggestions for what their plans are or what they've done, I'd be happy to hear them. My current plan is to buy a "chair and a half" and add the gliding hardware to the bottom so that I have exactly what I want. I'll let you know how it goes!
Also, I've done quite a bit of research on the Secure Beginnings Breathable Mattresses but I'm wondering if anyone here has actually used them? Is it really worth it? They're expensive and seem to be a hassle... although I'd use them if other people like and trust them. My nephew passed away (supposedly from SIDS at 19 months old) and I'm pretty paranoid about the cribs, bedding, and mattresses we use, especially because I have two LOs to worry about. If you know anything about these mattresses, I'd really love to know your thoughts. Or even if you use a breathable pad over a traditional mattress, or special crib sheets, I'd like to know about those too.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!
