Since there hasn't been much activity around here lately, I thought a randoms thread might get some participation. What's going on in your life, any rants/raves, or any exciting plans for the holiday (US or Canada)?
All this rain is such a pain! The flooding is out of control, plus I just went down to the basement to do laundry to find water all over! One of our basement window surrounds was full of water and it was just pouring in. I've spent the last hour trying to empty the window surround and clean up some of the water. I texted DH to say I did as much as I could and once he's home from work he'll have to figure out how to stop this from happening again, since I'm sure we're going to get more rain.
My immediate family is in town for the fourth, so I invited them all to my house for a pool party and BBQ from a local joint. Even though my yard is completely soaked from rain and it was too cold to swim it went better than I expected. I love my family, but 5 kids under age two, 2 six year olds and their parents can get a little hectic!
Eta DD2 is 11 weeks old tomorrow and Finally STTN.... 11-7 last night woooo

We spent Canada Day with friends and had a backyard BBQ. There were so many people and it was pretty hectic. I love fireworks but we left early because they don't start until 10:30 and DD2 didn't let me sleep last night! About to eat some poutine and call it a night.
jnetx, Yay almost baby time!! lilqt3929, I'm sorry that sounds so sucky. Hope the rain lets up for you soon! sugarkissed, Such adorable babies! fiveohfive, wish you had better weather for your part, but glad it went well.
Not much going on w/ me. We went to the beach last week, and other than getting the flu we had a great time!
Loads of stress happening in my life. Between buying a new house, selling our current, H being on night shifts (leaving me to do all housework/plus toddler duty), baby is due in just over a month, we have to move by the end of August... Ahhhhhhhh!
Not much going here. I am loving the summer vacation.
DS loves watching the trash and recycling trucks. The trash people are not too friendly. The recycling and yard waste trucks are nice. They always wave hello and driver of the truck toots the horn. DS runs to the down the street to watch the trucks.
Not to much going on here - love all the baby updates! We have started talking about baby #2 and I think we are going to start trying Going to a play/swim date tomorrow which should be fun! I hope DD doesn't fall alseepnon the way and that I can get her to nap while we are there. Out of town on the 4th to my SIL for some family party time - all in all and good weekend coming up!
DH's forced OT (20 hours extra per month) is killing me. The extra money is awesome, but I did NOT sign up to be a single parent 2 nights a week and on Saturdays. We're also tired of never being able to go anywhere (family and friends live out of state) because he's got to work every freakin' weekend. We're hoping this crap ends come the end of the fiscal year (Oct. 1).
My kids amaze me more every single day. Both were in just diapers yesterday after bath time, running around their room. I dressed Ashley first (she was the closest one to grab) and then tried to get Kayla to come to me. Of course, she promptly ran the other way. I asked Ashley (jokingly) to go bring Kayla to me. Don't you know she walked over to Kayla, put her hand lightly on her shoulder, and walked her to me? I just about died of laughter.
