They took a photo with the pregnancy test, guys. A professional one. I don't know how you all told your SO you were pregnant, but bringing in a pro photographer seems a bit over the top to me. We waited together for the pee stick to dry, I can't imagine keeping it from my husband for long enough to do anything other than blurt it out immediately.

I think MH would have been really irritated if I surprised him like that and expected some giddy expression for photos. They would not have been cute.

Ours would've been such a fail because my H has no emotion. When I told him I was pregnant with LO he said "oh. You got a bun in there?" And poked my belly.

My telling DH would have been a fail session, too. I told him during a commercial break while he was watching golf. He asked if I was serious and then resumed watching golf. Tres exciting.

This would not have worked for us either. H never fully believed I was pregnant until I went to the doctor. He is weird.

Ok another confession even though it's Saturday. I kept my pee stick for a week after I took the test and would periodically look at it to see the two lines and get giddy. Basically, I kept it until the lines faded and you couldn't see it anymore. I know that's weird.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think formal pregnancy announcements are AWy. Just call people on the phone. Pinterest is making people AW.

I kept mine out on the bathroom sink for a few days. I was having no pregnancy symptoms and it was like if there wasn't a positive test to look at I couldn't believe it.

skylark002 as long as you did t turn it into a necklace you found on Pinterest I think you're good.

I didn't look at the pictures, but have seen it floating around Facebook. There is no way I could have waited. I barely could wait the hour until DH woke up. He looked at the test and told me to wait a day and test again.

Um, huge confession: I realized I still have mine. And there are a lot of them.

The amount was loss related. The still having them is lazy/forgetful related. I will go throw those out now.

Anyways, I couldn't wait either. I managed to keep it a secret for the rest of the afternoon- cuz I wanted to tell him in person, but I DID ask for and take my pee-stick home from the doc's. (I found out there-long story) I threw it away- but I do have a pic of it with a onesie I bought and an u/a pic I also got that day. I was 8 weeks.

Yeah, I told DW over text while she was at the grocery store. I would HATE to do something like that with a photographer. But I'm the person who would be legit angry if my family had the servers in the restaurant sing happy birthday to me. I'm very anti-attention and public sentimentality. That said, I did pee on several sticks and kept them in the bathroom for a bit. Our first test was a false negative and we'd tried for more than a year, so it seemed very surreal and I had to confirm it several times for myself the first two or three weeks. Plus, we'd started buying industrial sized boxes of tests so we had plenty.

I think its cute, but I would never do something like that. I'm a recurrent loss mom, so the "We're having a baby" sign is not an option.

For this baby it was the worst way to tell a husband ever. We were at our ILs, I had gotten the bfp 2 days before but didn't tell MH. they got me a massive sparkling wine with a congratulations balloon on it, and MH joked: "what, are you pregnant...ha ha"....I hissed at him to "stfu because I am" in the hallway and the shocked look on his face was one for the books.

I would never be able to do this. With DS1 I called my sister first because H was at work for like 4 more hours and as happy as I was, I was sad because I found out the week after moving her across the country. With DS2 I again called my sister because he was at work and I was freaking out that I got KU on BC. My parents were visiting her so they found out then also.

lol!  Finally saw the pics.  They were cute - but I think it's a private thing.  DH warned me that I'd better not tell him in front of people, so he had time to process his reaction.  Because of his previous loss, pregnancy (and the idea of it) was pretty scary for him.
