Even if I was a size 0 I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable wearing a skimpy bikini. For the same reason I would never just run around in my underwear in public. I have no problem with others doing it. I'm just not comfortable enough to do it myself.
I don't like getting compliments about weight loss. It's nice to know that it's noticeable but it just feels awkward to me.
Agreed. Also, I have a friend who always tells me I look great and asks if I've lost weight. Even when I obviously haven't or have actually gained weight. She ALWAYS says it. And I see her pretty regularly. I find it super awkward and annoying. Like my weight is the most crucial part of my existence or something - or the key factor to looking great. Can't I just look great at the same size I've been for a super long time??

Amen, sister! I think right now a lot of people say it because we were, in the recent past, enormous and pregnant. People want to comment on it to make you feel good PP. I just say "Thanks!"

Our kids are adopted and I always felt so uncomfortable when strangers complemented my weight loss! Little do they know I put on weight after our baby came home but I don't want to announce to strangers our kids are adopted so I say thank you and then feel guilty.

Ugh...the food service guy at work commented that I got my figure back quickly. He meant it in a friendly complimentary way but it made me feel so awkward. It's weird knowing that people are looking at your body and deciding how well your weight loss is going. It's even more awkward when they see what food you put on your plate at lunch!

Ok, that IS awkward. I also think that would be awkward for you pinkie. I hadn't thought about either of these perspectives. I had the fortune that no one ever said really awkward things when I was pregnant or PP, so I haven't been bombarded. The only people that have commented on my weight are close family, and even then most say "you look great!" rather than anything about weight. DH gained as much weight as I did, though, and lots of people comment on his weight gain. He jokes about it, but it makes me feel a little bad. Yesterday he said "you are a little slimmer than me" which was never true before, and I told him that was nice to say!

With DS1 I had a lady keep pushing. She said "no really how did you possibly lose so much weight so fast" and I broke and told her he is adopted. People are seriously so strange. I mean an innocent comment is one thing but to keep pushing it uggh!
On the weight thing, the most awkward thing I've been dealing with is my boss. Literally every time she sees me (which thankfully is only 1-2 times a month) she makes me stand up so she can look at me. Then she says I don't look like I ever had a baby, which just isn't true. She even points it out to customers sometimes and tells them I "just had a baby" and I'm like no, I had a baby almost 9 months ago. One time she said that she needs to start doing what I'm doing and I was like, "really, you want to start breastfeeding" that shut her up for a minute at least
