Since it's officially July now - can we do a quick "what are you getting your kid as a birthday present"? I know some people were undecided before, or like me, still are I could really use the ideas for both myself and the grandparents who are asking! Thank you!
We got him some clothes on vacation and a wooden train that says his name on it. We're also getting him the Green Toys ferry, a big Sand Alive kit, and gymnastics & music classes in the fall.
We didn't really get him anything and he didn't notice. We did just get a fish tank this weekend and I'm saying it's his birthday present, but I didn't actually tell him because his birthday was a month ago already. It just makes me feel better to say it's his present.
We got her Hello Kitty rain gear (raincoat, umbrella, rain shoes), and HK undies. Also got her a small drum. Edit--she's getting from others: simple games (like Candy Land and Memory), a latch board (with all the locks on it), a trip to the farm, and books.
Haha ready- I feel like the ass, but I make a big deal about birthdays. He's not getting a big present so he's getting a bunch of little things... Piggy and elephant books A book about woodpeckers and a little stuffed woodpecker (he loves woodpeckers for some reason) A puzzle with his name This vtech laptop thing - it's like a speak and spell A toy microphone Binoculars and a flashlight A toy trumpet (H's gift) And what he actually asked for- Mickey Mouse Legos.
Yes, he has a lot of toys but I don't care. Birthdays are supposed to be fun. You get spoiled for a day! And to be honest I got so many good deals I don't think all that even adds up to $100 - thank you Amazon daily deals!
We got Mirabelle a Step2 basketball hoop for kids, a new kiddie pool, some dress up clothes, a kite, and a few small toys like a Minnie Mouse puzzle. My inlaws are giving her tickets to the local indoor water park. My parents got her Minnie Mouse sheets and some accessories for her baby dolls and some other toys. My sister got her a magnet Minnie Mouse that you can dress up. Brother in law got her really nice Melissa and Doug brand ballerina dress up outfit.
A slip n slide, some Disney books with an electronic reader thing, and a car track with a few cars (she played with this set at a friends and it was awesome and Jack didn't destroy it each time he accidentally stepped on the track). A board game made by peaceable kingdom from my sister. My other sister hasn't asked for ideas so she may have something in mind but if not I will suggest something like calico critters, my little pony, or other small figurines as she loves that kind of thing.
We got her a farm train set, a frozen tshirt, and some extra train tracks. Today (her birthday!) we also took her to the local children's museum. A few of her favorite things from her party last weekend were her disney princess castle, a playdough tool set, and Legos.
We didn't really get him anything big. We bought him some new clothes which he needed, a couple of stuffed minions, a minion lunch box and I took him to a local amusement park on his actual birthday. My parents got him a tricycle and sleeping bag and my sister got him a new game for his vtech tablet. He honestly didn't really need anything.
We got Dagny a Calico Critters treehouse gift set (came with some furniture & critters), some new books & a Prince Eric doll (she's obsessed with Disney princesses & has pretty much every princess Barbie so thought she needed a prince!). My mom is getting her some clothes & either a big wheels or small bike. Other ideas I gave were some floor puzzles, simple games & a toy tool set

Sandbox sand and toys ( had the box he was always scared of it until this year) and a new truck/trailer set.
He got tons from family/friends at his party. His favorite was a toy police car that drives and makes noise. And his new cowboy boots. He got 3 pairs if new shoes!

We are for sure getting her a leappad and a few games to go with it. I'm also getting her a scooter. I'll also probably get her a Barbie and a few other small things. I kind of go all out for her birthday since it's midway in the year.
We got him a power wheels john deere tractor with a cart behind it so he can help his daddy with yard work.
This is by far Cooper 's prized possession. Just a warning, if you have any hills in your yard, the tractor has a hard time. The wheels don't have enough traction. H and Cooper modified it this year to put on rubber tires and now it laughs at the hills.

Good to know. Thanks. We do not have many hills, but good to know it can be modified.
