Hey mamas! I wanted to start back up a physical well-being check-in, whether that be you are well enough to start working out, finally were able to climb the stairs without being in pain, or your arms are sore from curling the baby in its carrier, etc.
How far post-partum are you? How are you feeling overall physically? Have you started any sort of physical routine? Random thoughts
I am 6 days pp. I am happy to say I feel like I am on the mend physically. DH and I took a small walk out by the lake with the dog and smidge and I felt a bit sore in the stitches area afterward but it felt good to get out. A little at a time I guess. I have been wearing a belly compression belt and I feel like it is really making a difference in getting things settled back into place and the added bonus of good back and ab support while breastfeeding. No physical routine here yet- my goal this week is to take back over the morning dog walking routine when DH goes back to work Monday. Random thoughts- breastfeeding has been crazy tiring. I'm glad I finally have an appetite back because I don't think I was getting enough calorie intake before.

How far post-partum are you? 3 weeks 3 days How are you feeling overall physically? I feel fine, but I know I'm overdoing it and need to get more sleep and take it easier! Have you started any sort of physical routine? No real routine. Last week I started my "Tuesday walk" - 1 mile down to the farmer's market, 1 mile back, but had to take a hiatus this week because of the rain. Hopefully that'll be back on schedule next week. Random thoughts- I'm actually kind of frustrated right now. By this time with LBB I was already back and running again, this time I'm still bleeding. I know it's because of the whole overdoing it and not resting, so I'm trying to do more of that so I can get back into some sort activity soon. I neeeed it. I've already been working on my race calendar and have races planned for almost every month from September to July.
bendherova I hadn't asked about the peri bottle until yesterday. My dr told me it is my call based on how they feel. He said to take a good look down there (thanks iPhone camera for the help) and keep an eye on things. He said the transition that he finds works best is the peri bottle/dabbing with toilet paper (which I find annoying bc I always end up with toilet paper bits), to wet wipes dabbing, to wiping once your stitches don't hurt at all anymore and seem to be dissolving. I just started the dabbing with wet wipes and it's been as wonderful as things can be (all things considered) to me it feels cleaner. I was afraid to look at or touch my stitches at all. I finally touched them in the shower last night and it was fine. Hope it helps! billyhorrible super ambitious! I feel the same way-I blame the mom strength of feeling like you can do anything after what our bodies just went through! Soon enough though! I keep trying to say to myself just a little at a time-I would be more displeased with myself if I overdid it and set myself back a bunch.
18 days postpartum. My vagina feels normal. Bleeding is minimal. Pooping was rough yesterday and it made me bleed from my anus a bit. Never had that happen before. Working the Colace like it's my job now. Boobs are ok but my nipples are sore. Been trying to go for walks once a day when it isn't raining. It's always freaking raining. Other than that I get around just fine. Trying to convince my tired husband to go to the lake for a walk with me right now between feedings.
How are you feeling overall physically? Taking it easy. Still bleeding. Wore DS2 to the park in the Ergo for an hour yesterday and was really sore downstairs afterward so pushed that too much. I have PUPPS or PEP or whatever it is called... the itchy rash all over my stretch marks and stomach. I'm trying to contain it but it drives me nuts. Also annoyed because I wanted to be wearing some type of belly/back support and can't with the rash, it would unbearable. My back is faring a lot better than it was with DS1 though; partly because I am stronger and more used to it, partly because I have a MUCH better chair to nurse in this time!
Have you started any sort of physical routine? Nope. Not for a while. I will probably do another couch to 5k this fall, that was helpful after DS1. I'm not much of a runner beyond that but do like taking the Bob out around the neighborhood.
Random thoughts: ILs just arrived. This is my true test of whether I am taking care of myself... last time I collapsed pushing it too much taking care of THEM, so the goal is to not collapse this time.

How are you feeling overall physically? I feel awesome. It does get better ladies!! I don't really have any pains anywhere, my section incision healed well, and I've been released to resume normal activities. I finally got quite a bit of sleep last night, so I feel good today. That may not be the case for tomorrow, but I'll take it since I got it.
Have you started any sort of physical routine? I try to go for a walk around the neighborhood every evening. It's about a half mile if I make one complete lap, but I've been walking around and back, so I'm probably walking just shy of a mile.
Random thoughts: I want to try to start going to the park and walking more than what I am doing now. I miss being active. Also, a major AW: I've lost all my pregnancy weight, plus some. I weigh 12 lbs less than I do when I got pregnant. Never thought that would happen!! But I'm happy with it.

4 weeks post-partum, and feeling great, aside from lingering pain from mild thrush (boooo). My physical routine is keeping up with two other kids, and doing stuff at my parents ranch (feeding poultry, pulling weeds, changing irrigation, etc) which is no longer feeling like "too much."
I put on my shorts yesterday, and zipped and buttoned them. Hell yeah.
I feel great. Much better this time than with DS1. I hit pre pregnancy weight one week ago. My episiotomy has healed nicely. I've been walking DS to day camp every morning and sometimes in the evenings, if it isn't too hot. That's my only formal exercise right now. In a couple more weeks I hope to start up some serious cardio and add weights so I can tone up. The weight may be gone but everything is shaped differently now and I have quite the muffin top going on.
Everyone told me recovery from pg after 40 would be slow and difficult but it's been easy so poo on them! After such a long exhausting pregnancy, this is wonderful. Now, if only I could get some sleep.

How are you feeling overall physically? Great, other than my vagina! Started having discomfort this past week, and it turns out a tear has re-opened. It's just sore, and I have to take warm baths twice/day and keep it clean to avoid infection while it re-heals. Boo.
Have you started any sort of physical routine? Just walking daily. DB is fussy in the house so it pushes me to get out every day, even if it's just for a 15 minute walk. Hoping to start yoga as soon as I'm all healed down below.
Random thoughts- I didn't have any expectations about my post-pregnancy body, but I'm really happy with how quickly it's getting back to normal! I can fit my jeans again, just have a bit of a muffin top left, but considering I haven't started exercising yet, I feel fine about that.

Almost 4 weeks pp. Overall, I feel pretty good physically today. But that could just be because I slept more than four hours last night. It varies everyday based on amt of sleep. Minimal bleeding. Sore nipples if I'm not careful about LO's latch (so basically every morning after MOTN feedings where I'm falling asleep). No physical "routine" really because it's so dependent on how much sleep I get the night before. Try to take LO for a walk to the park in the morning and evening when it's not too hot, sometimes he allows this. My OB cleared me for abdominal exercise, so I tried a sit-ups yesterday - disaster. My C/S incision is still too painful and apparently almost nine months of avoiding ab exercises on top of that has left me with no core strength. Boo. Random thoughts: I like breast feeding, but I swear this kid eats for so long that my butt is becoming one with the couch.
How are you feeling overall physically? Really well. But I get tired easily and I tend to want to take on more than I can handle.

4 1/2 weeks postpartum
Feeling great besides the random boughts of constipation that make me feel like I'm having a DBB ( dear butt baby)
I've been going on long walks w the family every day. Next month I'll start doing spin class a few times a week but not quite there physically or ready to be away from baby yet.
I'm back to 10 pounds above my pregnancy weight but w no tone so looking forward to being able to tone up again
2 weeks 2 days here. I feel tired and out of shape. My ability to be active is v much hindered by pain at my incision. My goal is to start walking in the next week, but at present it sounds really hard. I have lost more than half the weight, but haven't really attempted to wear 'regular' clothes yet. I wear the abdominal belt from the hospital all day long, and it helps, but I still have a big floppy belly. I gained so much (50 lb) and not being able to nurse, I feel like it could take awhile to get rid of it all. I am surprised to have 'batwing' arms and floppy thighs... A real 'mom body'... Can't wait to push some weights eventually!
I'll be 2 weeks pp on Sunday. Physically I'm finally feeling better. Not great at taking a nap when I should, and I'm still bleeding so I'm trying to take it slow. DH goes back to work Monday (I'm terrified), and LO and I have an activity a day planned. I'm hoping to start getting a schedule going, if only for me (reg wake up time and meals), so I can get some activity going - we'll prob start with walks. My sister and I talked about training for a half marathon soon. Weight wise I'm at my pre pregnancy weight, but I feel soft - want to firm everything back up (not that I was super firm and ripped before but good god I have no core)

How are you feeling overall physically? Good Other than the what I'm assuming are hemorrhoids. This but definitely having bleeding during BM. Contemplating contacting the doc but it isn't bothering me over all and I know hemmies are "normal" pp.
Have you started any sort of physical routine? Other than trying to keep up with my almost 2 year old, nope.
Random thoughts: 2u2 can be brutal...DS is testing boundaries, throwing tantrums, and showing some regression. I'm sure it's a combination of things...he'll be 2 this month, LO requires quite a bit I'd attention, and we're moving in a few weeks. But momma is exhausted!

I'm 4 weeks PP as of yesterday. I still have 20lbs to get to pre pregnancy weight and I'm concerned because I'm still very swollen especially in the hands and feet . I really want to get back to running but feel so tender in the stomach that in scared to run. I go for my PP appt on Thursday so we'll see if she releases me. I've been walking every other day at least a mile. Wednesday I did over 2 miles and paid for it. I'm hating my body right now and I disliked the number even before I got knocked up so it's doubly bad. I'm in the dreaded deuce numbers...barely but still I cry when I get on the scale. This was the part I was afraid of . I knew I would not be one to bounce back gracefully.
Feeling much better this week finally. The aches are finally going away. I've only needed ibuprofen once a day instead of 3 times.
We've gone on a couple short slow walks, but that's it. If it wasn't so hot and muggy we'd probably get out more.
Random: it's taking a lot longer for my belly to go down than with my first 2. Not sure if that's because it's the 3rd time, he was 2lbs bigger, I'm 2 years older...all of the above probably. But it's annoying me. I know 4 weeks is not that long, but I was definitely in my regular clothes by now after the girls and I am definitely not this time.
2 weeks 3 days pp. I have recovered from delivery completely and feel great. Still have a really small amount of bleeding some days but not every day.
Haven't started exercising. It's been 95+ degrees outside and I also have a 15 month old to take care of. I want to get back on my road bike but will probably wait until the weather cools off and I am cleared at 6 weeks.
I am finally starting to feel like my body is making strides back to where it was. I gained 30 lbs and left the hospital down about half of that.

I'm the exact opposite! With my first I was at pre-pregnancy weight a week after leaving the hospital. But I wasn't in regular clothes for 4-6 weeks. This time around I wasn't at prepregnacy weight at 1 week, but back in prepregnancy clothes. This "every pregnancy is different" thing is a total mindfuck.
How are you feeling overall physically?: I'm feeling really good. This time around is NOTHING like last time. My incision healed really well and I honestly can't even tell I just had a baby not too long ago. People also tell me I don't look like I just had a baby. I know its crazy but, I'm 10lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight & I'm not breastfeeding.
Have you started any sort of physical routine?: Not really. I'm on my feet a lot during the day. Between a 5-year-old, baby and household chores, there's not much time for sitting. It's way too hot to be outside for too long right now but when it starts to cool off I'll definitely be taking the kiddos for walks and whatnot.
Random thoughts: I really wish I could go swimming at this pool party tomorrow, but since I can't, I think it'll be the time to have my first drink in a year!

I'm 3 weeks 3 days PP.
I'm feeling pretty well physically (except for some wicked nipple pain from overactive letdown/over supply issues) and am almost at my pre-baby weight. It's been so rainy here outdoor activity has been a rarity, so I'm easing back into things using our WiiFit. I even made a profile so I can weight LO. After my 6 week check up I can ramp things up and work off this pooch I have going on.
How far post-partum are you? 12 days How are you feeling overall physically? I wanna feel normal again. I'm dripping milk to my knees if I'm more than half an hour between feedings, my belly is still rather sore (but I was able to stop the percocet AND not cry out in pain when I got up in the night), and I'm tired but seem to be unable to nap despite ALLLL the help with the kids/housework I could want. Keep having mildly elevated temps with chills (nothing over 100.) Have you started any sort of physical routine? No, but I did get in my first GOOD postpartum hug with my son this morning. Mmmmm. Random thoughts: Looking forward to being able to pick up DS, spin him around, and hold him upside down again. DS gives a tiny pout and "awwwww!" whenever I tell him I can't.

Dr google says you can get a broken/dislocated/bruised tailbone during childbirth if you have a large or malpositioned baby. I had both. I'm wondering if I should call my real Dr or wait for my 6 week check up. It's not getting any better.
Have you started any sort of physical routine? No because my tailbone hurts! But I want to badly. I lost half my pregnancy weight but it seems I'm going to have to work the other half off and just thinking about my body right now makes me cry. I think I will feel better when I can work out.

I've only been walking for exercise. I don't go back to the doctors until 7/27 which sucks cause there's a mommy and me yoga id love to take with LO through my hospital that starts 7/25. I'm about 20 pounds heavier than my pre pregnancy weight but I felt good about myself until I saw a picture H took of me and LO this morning. Ugh.
I'm feeling like my old self again- minus being sleep deprived. I officially started my period yesterday - womp womp. I started bleeding again, freaked out and called the after hours line. A MW called back and said,"yep, sounds like your period. Use protection and don't get pregnant." Lovely!

My tailbone hurt until about 3 weeks PP. And LO was only 6 lbs 15 oz, and was in perfect position. I had to sit on a donut it got so bad. Trying to stand up after sitting for awhile was excruciating. But now, thank goodness, the pain is gone!!! Hope you find relief soon!!! I never talked to my OB about it, but it's worth a shot!
