It's kind of hard to know and depends on your machine. I doubt t would cause much wear and tear but it might use more/too much water. I wouldn't use the delicate setting at all. You want plenty of agitation.
Gonna jump in here - I thought the pre rinse should be cold? ETA-just wondering if changing it would make a difference to my wash routine.
Warm is going to be better at getting the gunk out, but if you can get away with cold (and plenty of people can - I'm not one of them), save some planet and do it.
