DH and I will be TTC after my sisters wedding in June. For Christmas next year my parents want to fly us all to charleston sc for a week. I don't remember when the cutoff point is in the pregnancy for not flying. Anyone know?
I think like 34 weeks? Some airlines have other restrictions, along with your dr. Do you know what airline you might use? You could call and ask them. I'm pretty sure it's like 34-35 though.
We haven't even looked at flights so no clue on the airline. Also I don't have an OB/GYN since we moved when LO was 4 months old to know what their guideline would be.
Yes, I think the official cut off for most airlines is 34 weeks. A lot of OB's will recommend not traveling at all - just because if something were to happen, you'd be away from home and your doctor - but unless you had known risks, I don't think it would be a problem. Other than being uncomfortable, of course, and you want to make sure you get up and walk around every couple of hours, to prevent swelling. I have a couple of flight attendant friends who worked right up until 34 weeks, and they were taking multiple flights a day.
