I am somehow up when today is a day where Isaac likes to sleep in. I had a follow up with the dietician and she weighed me. I lost a total of 4 lbs since the Friday before last. She said she is very proud of how motivated I am. I am feeling a world of a difference.
Haha songbirdsinging55! Great minds think alike! We can use your post.
So we had a horrible night of sleep... In bed at 10, up at 11 for an hour, up at 3 for good. DH took her for an hour in there somewhere, so that was nice. She just won't sleep laying down, and wants to nurse all the time.
I know why, though. I've had a sore throat and stuffy nose since yesterday afternoon, which is causing me to drink water constantly and only be able to sleep propped up. And even then, I was waking up all the time. So LO has to be going through the same thing, that's my only explanation for this.
My hopes are low, but maybe she'll sleep for a couple hours this morning in the crib? I'm going to put some towels under her mattress.

nerdalert- I heard that if you are nursing while sick that the LO ends up with a less severe cold because of the antibodies.i hope you both get over the cold soon and feel better. They are no fun.
I just called the pediatrician's office since LO is sick again. Poor thing! He has a cough, runny nose, and goopy eyes. Last time he had these symptoms he had an ear infection and needed antibiotics.
Otherwise, we are doing fine and keeping at our normal level of busy. LO is 8 months old today. Time flies! He isn't crawling yet, but will be very soon.
nerdalert girl, we had similar nights. The 3am party ended at 4am with both of us sleeping on the couch, her snorting and snoring. I'm trying to remind myself she's not feeling good and it's temporary but holy shit is this hard. I've already cried twice today. Yay.
We tried the towel under the crib mattress last night and no real change other than her getting pissed she couldn't get settled. I think we're also dealing with a little separation anxiety. At drop off today the nanny and I both left her sight and she full pitched murder screamed. I've got so much work to do today and am running on e. Beer me: I mean, coffee me!
sjp03 minus goopy eyes that's what we've got here too! The rock sized boogers I pick from LO's nose are... Impressive.
@singingsongbirds55 way to go!! 4 lbs is awesome! Proud of you for sticking with it.
My baby is phlegmy coughing and has watery eyes! I can't get anything with the snotsucker though. She goes to sleep in the crib, but wakes up for snuggles by 11. Then it's sort of back and forth between her bed and mine for the rest of the night. I had to really summon my gracious side this weekend when I was questioned on how much "real food" I give her and told how she would probably sleep better if I just fed her more. For the umpteenth time. I like how she sleeps, thank you very much. songbirdsinging55 Way to go! Isn't it gratifying to see and feel a difference!? pixie523 We have separation anxiety here too. I can't go around the corner without pitiful wailing. I am pretty sure no matter how much she gets fed, if she wakes up and I'm not there, she's not going back to sleep. sjp03 Happy 8 months! All babies and their moms get healthy quick-like!

Nooooooooooo to the sick babies! I hope you all get some rest today after your hard nights. Nobody is sick in my house, but we are all operating on fumes. Myles is refusing to sleep in his crib for longer than an hour. We've been bringing him in our bed, but then one of us ends up in the guest room because we only have a Full size bed. That would all be fine if M actually slept, but he doesn't. He's up and screeching every 1-2 hours. It's making him a cranky mess all day. We go on vacation next week, but when we get back, I'm going to start some very gentle sleep training. I just need to make it through until then. I know if I start now, it will get derailed because we'll be away from home. I don't know what I mean by very gentle sleep training, but I know I can't handle leaving him to scream by himself for more than a few minutes, so it will have to involve one of us being in his room by the crib reassuring him that we're right there. I have some reading to do.
Back from the doctor. I was right - another ear infection. This is the third one in just a little more than 2 months. There is a high likelihood that he may need tubes, but the doctor wants to wait until fall and see how he does.
spiraltheory, tell me how the gentle sleep training goes. something's got to give over here, after she feels better. the shitty part is, like zengal, i really don't think any sleep training is going to help because she needs a human to see and touch right now. I JUST WANT TO SLEEP FOR 3 HOURS IN A ROW SO HELP ME
Ok all these sick babies need to get better fast! Poor babies, and moms!!
We are also dealing with separation anxiety too, for the first time today when I dropped her off at daycare she gave me the saddest face!
sjp03 sorry to hear about another ear infection, they are seriously the worst thing!! Hope those antibiotics start working here soon.
I think lo likes sleeping in her crib but gets upset when she wakes up and I'm not there (she usually sleeps in the pnp next to the bed) I feel like I'm not ready for her to be in her own room all night at all...especially since she is now a tummy sleeper!
Eta: I got the no cry sleep solution book for some gentle sleep "training " and it has some really great suggestions!

sjp03 - ugh!! That stinks!! I had 2 ear surgeries when I was a kid (not tubes) but it sucked. Hopefully your Lo is done with ear infections for awhile after this. spiraltheory - gentle sleep training doesn't sound bad. I've just given in to Lo sleeps with us 1/2 the night, but we have a king size bed so it's a little more manageable. pixie523 - I think my Lo is starting to get separation anxiety too. He screams if I walk in the room and don't pick him up. Ugh to all of the sick mommies and babies. I think the stomach bug has finally made its way through my family and everyone is in recovery mode. Lo is still pooping a ton but I'm chalking that up to antibiotics. Hoping it passes soon.

I would be 100% fine with M sleeping in a PNP by our bed, but it's the same situation as the crib. We've tried it with zero success. He was a fairly decent sleeper up until about a month ago. I'm feeling so bad for these sick babies. Dammit!
Speaking of poop....Lo hadn't gone for 3 days and had a huge blow out yesterday. As I'm trying to figure the mess out she looks at me, smiles as she reaches down and puts both hands in it! So fun
Hugs to all the sleep deprived and moms of sick babies. Hopefully all these sick babies heal quickly.
DDs front top teeth are still working their way down which means she wouldn't sleep in her crib last night. We put her in the swing and she was out for the night. I'm going to be so sad when she out grows her swing.
I went into school for a few hours. Started rearranging my classroom for the upcoming year. DD is now super clingy and only wants me. I'm glad she missed me but peeing alone or without a screaming baby would be nice.

Hey ladies :-) yesterday was my birthday! All I wanted was peace and quiet that day and I got exactly that. So I'm pretty happy still.
DS tooth is taking it's sweet precious time to come all the way in. He's bitten me a few times with the little piece and I try to be stern with him but I just end up cracking up laughing at his facial expression.
It's also making his sleep worse. Which I never thought it could get worse. Idk what to do. I've read every advice column and had moms tell me what they did. Nothing works with him. No crib sleeping, no longer than 2-3 hours at a time, and must have breasts near.
Doesn't help that I love the snuggles all day, until 4am rolls around. Then I'm pissed.
Hugs to all the sick moms and moms with sick littles I hope everyone feels better soon!
Had a good day overall for my birthday today! I slept in with lo until 8:45 (we were up for a diaper and story time am from 7:00-7:30) My H made me breakfast with bacon (Yum!) lo and I played a d then took a nap together! My in-laws were supposed to show up at 2:00 to the non-existent bbq they invited themselves to but were over an hour late so I was starving by the time they showed up...just in time for lo's nap (which he decided he couldn't take without mom) so I didn't get lunch until after 4:00 but my MIL made me dairy free yellow cake with dairy free chocolate frosting (yellow cake with chocolate frosting is my favorite) that was actually really good so it almost made up for everything else! We ended the day with a nice walk into town...overall a nice birthday. It is my last birthday in my 20's but That doesn't seem like a big deal anymore.
Lo has no teeth yet but but me 4 times really hard with his gums yesterday (still hurts today). He has not done that before and I'm wondering if he might be teething?? Any other toothless little ones "biting"?
Happy birthday!! lovebuggies12 My LO is sleeping so bad recently, loves the boobs too lol.. I think it's her cold and that her top tooth finally came in. Hope things get better for you soon
I read this article and it made me so ragey, I wanted to cry. I can't imagine the moms with no support system or PPD or just sleep deprived that become so desperate they'd follow this lady's advice. Some women on FB defended her and said they've followed some of her advice.
Hugs to all the mommas with sick LOs and sleep deprivation.
Happy belated birthday lovebuggies12. Happy birthday spikesmom. Glad both of you had good days.
Feeding LO is a challenge in the mornings. She's awake and alert, which means she is distracted.by.all.the.things. She drinks half her bottle, unlatches to look all around, reaches for me, the burp cloth, the table and lots of other nonsense. Or she moves the nipple to the side of her mouth to smile and gnaw on it. She might grab the bottle by the nipple and play with it. Then she looks at me when she's drinking happily and almost makes me forget about the nonsense. Almost, but not quite.
Happy birthday yesterday lovebuggies12! Happy birthday spikesmom! I was wondering how the "bbq" worked out- glad the cake made your day! Before baby had tooth, she clamped down pretty hard a couple times. She's working on tooth#2. It's so far in (out?) that it's displaced a piece of her gums and it's like a hanging chad in her mouth Poor girl. gldnbearz do you know when the distracted eating ends? Does it end?
