hey look! another car seat thread!

Okay, so we installed both of our convertible seats this week. I got the Graco Size4me 65 and H has the Evenflo Titan. I hate them both but we needed two carseats and I am not made of money. I really wanted the Diono Radian but that thing wouldn't fit in H's truck. 

ANYWAY, yesterday during our drive to the Cape he fell asleep in it both times. We have the angle correctly on the leveler thingy and his head was a floppy hot mess while he was sleeping. I basically held his head in place. (This was in the Titan- it seems more upright than mine, but like I said it is level). 

Today he fell asleep in the graco and same floppy head mess happened when he fell asleep. He seemed to be able to fix himself a little better in my car because it seems like the level recline thing is slightly more reclined.

But anyway, he's a car sleeper. I try my best to stay home for naps now because I get more done that way, but now what? I can't be in the back seat and drive at the same time lol.


So, is it okay that his head flops? What do I do? Anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking of going to the police station with it just to make sure it is 100% correct in case its me?

We're still in the carseat carrier and I plan to keep him in it until he maxes out the weight limit (35 lb). But that being said have you considered purchasing him a neck pillow?

Grrr I'd be so frustrated! I don't know how a convertible works. Can it recline more, or you're stuck with that angle? If you're stuck, like ninergirl52 suggested, maybe a pillow. I wouldn't want his head flopping

I read up a little and it said you can finagle the angle a bit more if needed. Mine he was able to adjust his head to the side but bumps or downhill he flopped forward. H's he was forward the whole time. I'm thinking I'll try angle more and then maybe neck pillow.

ninergirl52 we still have the carrier but my mom has it so we all have carseats now. He still has another 3 inches to grow or like 10 lbs to gain before he can't be in it

jjh1119 - I don't know the answer, but have you looked at the car seats for the littles Facebook page? The folks on there are awesome about answering questions just like yours. You have to become a member though, so it might be at least a day before you get an answer.

My lo's head does this in the infant car seat too. I don't like it but my seats are like bucketish, I just thought since it's rearfacing the top is higher then back?! Umm not really sure... Now you make me wonder...

My 3 year old just reached 35 pounds but has been too long for his carrier since 10 months old, lol.

I would also suggest a neck pillow like others said. Maybe even just rolling up a breathable swaddle blanket like the Adan and anais ones to give some support? Good luck!
