We've been struggling with LO stopping part way through her breast milk bottles the last few days. Last night, MH asked if maybe she didn't like the taste of it.
I tasted the remainder of a bottle and it tasted like sour milk. Dumped and made a new breast milk bottle that didn't taste sour and she drank it down.
Same thing again tonight. I tried mixing the milk with formula and she still wouldn't finish the bottle. Gave her a bottle of formula and she took it all.
I don't make enough to freeze but we do have a 2-3 day fresh supply in the fridge. Makes me wonder why the milk is going sour.

It's 6am and I've been awake since about 3am. So far SO and I have gotten into an argument about ds not sleeping in his crib, ds has had a few meltdowns since he wants to sleep with me, the cat is being annoying, my allergies are going nuts, I'm hungry, and now I'm on the couch with ds wide awake.
Your LO's sleep schedule is amusing nerdalert. But I find it much less humorous when my baby sleeps great on the weekend and no good on a weeknight. gldnbearz It is awful that your milk is going bad so quickly! Do you keep an ice pack in your pump bag? lovebuggies12 We got almost no sleep in the crib last night, about 30 minutes. But baby slept great right next to me. It seems fine to me. If your SO isn't okay with it, tell him you would love for him to do bedtime and put LO to sleep in the crib. My gosh, did work suck this week. I am so relieved it's practically the weekend! (Sorry spikesmom for the end of your vaca- soak up the snuggles!) I always love the extra baby time, but this weekend is even better. My running group starts tomorrow and I can hardly wait to see everybody again!
It has been such a rough week for us. My two older kiddos came down with nasty colds Monday night. They still have it and are quite miserable. Then, lo came down with it on Wednesday. He isn't as bad as the other two, but I hate that all three are sick. I keep feeling like I'm coming down with it, but I've been able to fight it off so far. Sleep has been almost non-existent. The older two have been so congested at night that they wake up multiple times. I've had to give them breathing treatments multiple times because they've gotten so bad. I am so over this.

gldnbearz, so sorry about your milk. If you're not already, maybe try putting the milk in the back of the fridge? That's weird it would just start happening now though.
nerdalert, My son does the same thing!!! It actually makes me mad... yes... I seriously get mad about it.
zengal, Have fun with your running group.... I wish I could get excited about that .
l8rg8r, Sick kids= NO fun! I hope your kiddies start feeling better and that you don't get sick too.
Last night sounds like a bad sleep night. Levi woke up at 2:30 I rocked him for like 5 min and he fell right asleep. However, I stayed up for another 2.5 hours. I tried reading my book, relaxing my body (sounds weird but often times it works), watched a boring documentary... finally what did it was reading my Bible. Is that bad that that is what finally put me to sleep? LOL! Oh well. Then Levi woke up an hour later. Ugh! I am excited though cause tomorrow DH Levi and I are going to a wedding. I can't wait to get all dressed up. Bought a new dress and everything . I am a little worried though. The wedding is about 3 hours away and we decided not to stay over so it's going to be a very long day for LO. Hopefully it's not miserable
nerdalert I hope lo gets with the sleep program and starts restricting party's to nights when H is available to help!
gldnbearz I have no helpful advice but I hope you figure out the milk situation
lovebuggies12 I'm sore you have had such a rough night, I hope today is better
zengal I feel the same way about weekend vs weekday sleep. I am in the same boat that lo sleeps much better by me, I have completely given up trying the crib much to my H's dismay, However he does not help at night at all so he mostly keeps quiet about it. I'm planning to enjoy every second with my lo this weekend!
I8rg8r I hope all of your kiddos feel better soon
I'm sitting in the foot doctors office hoping for a cortisone injection to help my foot/toe I have had multiple surgeries and have had a lot of nerve damage in my toes. My last surgery they accidentally shattered one of the bones in my little toe so now it is short and weird looking which I can live with but it no longer protects my nerve damaged 2nd toe...long story short my foot hurts and is a bit of a mess! Hoping for relief today. I also have my annual exam at my ob-gyn in an hour... I felt like a scheduling genius that I was able to get these appointments 1.5 hours apart because they are in the same medical building! My H is at home with my tired cranky baby who was not happy mom had to get up and leave early this morning :-(
OH MY GOD!!!! I saw this and thought 'Somebody is celebrating early.... Must be a long weekend for some of yall bc it's Thursday today'. And then I realized OH SIZZZZZ IT REALLY IS FRIDAY!! This is crazy! The days are just getting away from me... This is not the first time this happened to me btw...
zengal I do have an ice pack in my pump bag. One of the bottles was pumped Sunday, so I had immediate fridge access. The other bottle was pumped Tuesday - can't remember if it was at home or at work, but even at work I put my milk into the fridge.
Now I feel like I have to try all bottles before I give it to her.
Holy shit are we not co-sleepers. LO had a PARTY last night from 12:30 until 2ish. She was not remotely tired, couldn't get settled, chatter chatter chatter. When I finally got her down I figured pull her in bed so when she stirs for the millionth time I can just binkie her and keep sleeping myself. NOPE. Thrashing - wiggling - FACE SMACKING (my face, her hand). All three of us were beyond grumps this morning. I normally work from home and I ran away.
I'm going to try to knock out three big things from my to do list and sign off early today. Maybe try to nap while the sitter is still here? Although that never ever works. One day I'm going to be so excited when I don't have to think about sleep issues this hard.

nerdalert -sounds like your LO only wants to party with Mommy ;-) gldnbearz - I am actually struggling with my LO on this one. Could the fridge not be cold enough? Probably a silly question but I didn't notice our fridge was broken until I noticed the difference between my fridge and neighbors. lovebuggies12 - Oh man that sounds like a rough time. I hope you get some sleep soon and things settle down. spikesmom- enjoy your day and get all the snuggles! zengal-yay for running! I signed up for the color run in sept. I am so excited but nervous. l8rg8r -Oh no! I hope all of the kiddos feel better soon. singingmama10-hope your LO makes it an easy day and enjoy dressing up :-) spikesmom -the scheduling does take skills! I am impressed! I tried once and failed miserably.
Does anyone hire a house cleaner? My house is a mess. I am so stressed out by trying to stay caught up on it. On weekdays we do just enough to maintain livability (i.e. dishes, wiping down the counters and table). We intend to get caught up on the weekends. But the weekends just don't have enough time with everything else we do (including relaxing and fun stuff). Then we get weekends where we are out of town (like last weekend) and everything just gets worse. The problems are a bit worse right now since I have been incredibly busy with work.
So how do I get DH on board with hiring a house cleaner? What can we expect to pay (I know this varies widely)? How would I go about finding one? How do I trust having someone in my house when I am not there?

Tomorrow is my sister's baby sprinkle. I am making diaper babies(hahaha) and a diaper cake. She wanted a diaper cake. It's mostly just family attending. She also asked me to be her support person during delivery. Her doula is a good friend of mine, I think we will be a good team for her.
I think Isaac is weaning himself a little. Which worries me. He doesn't nurse as much and my supply is drastically dropping to fit his needs. I emailed the pediatrician and she said it is because he is eating 3 meals of solids during the day. That he will plateau because of solids. I really really want to make it to 12 months! I don't know what to do.

We had one for about 3 years. She came highly recommended by a friend. She came every other week to do all of the floors and bathrooms and dusting. We paid her $65 each time. It enabled us to focus on the other stuff and not have to spend time on toilets, etc. I miss her...
l8rg8r - that sounds fabulous! It is quite embarrassing how infrequently we clean our floors. We just get so busy with so much other stuff. And with LO so close to crawling, I really want to get better at keeping our floors clean.
A while back I told DH we should get a house cleaner. He asked me what we would have them do and I gave a list similar to your. His response was that we can handle it ourselves and it doesn't take much time to do. And yet we still do it way too infrequently.
Good morning ladies. I'm pretty sure all of our babies txtd each other last night to coordinate this bad sleep thing! Lo was up ( for the second night in a row) at 4 and was wide awake...I'm so stupid tired. Oh and H decided to pick a fight with me at 6 am about the laundry not being folded. Of course he brought up the fact that I'm home 3 days a week...Ya taking care of a baby who hardly naps! Ugh it's a fight I'm sure many moms have had. Having lo has been both amazing for us and very hard on our marriage. pixie523 hope you can get everything you need to do done today, and try for that nap! gldnbearz strange about your milk, what a pain! nerdalert I feel your sleep pain...I only work 2 days a week and for whatever reason lo always sleeps terrible the night before I work. lovebuggies12 I feel the same way about never getting any sleep, I feel like a mom zombie every day zengal a running group sounds awesome! I really need to get back in to it, I always felt so good after a run l8rg8r hope your fam feels better, how awful! singingmama10 I'm sure the wedding will go well! We went to an adults only one last weekend and while it was nice to be out with just my H, I was missing lo like crazy because I think she would have had fun! spikesmom good luck with your doc appts today. I work at an obgyn and always think it's funny when people schedule their annual on days they have other stuff going on, had one gal schl on the same day as a root canal! With a lo tho you gotta get it done at once while you can be alone!! And if you are in the same building you might as well!

I knew I shouldn't have left LO unattended with my phone! Most nights (including last night) he sttn. It is getting him to sleep that ever proves to be a challenge. He never wants to go to bed at night and fights waking up in the morning.
Last night I put LO in the carrier and went for a walk. That usually knocks him out when he is really fighting sleep. He kept arching his back and hanging his head back so he could look up at me. He would then laugh and smile. It was so adorable, but it was also way past his bedtime.

We have opposite sleepers! LO puts herself to sleep like a champ, just decides to wake up 2-3 times a night instead.
gldnbearz My first thought was also that maybe the fridge needs to be colder? Or maybe try storing the milk at the back of the fridge where it will stay coldest, especially when the door opens. I can't think of any other reason why it would go bad so fast.
singingmama10 I don't think it's bad that reading the Bible put you to sleep, haha. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I just pray about random things. It totally works, I always fall asleep doing that.
sjp03 I have a hard enough time keeping the house clean even with staying at home. I have no idea how we'd do it if we were both working. I would definitely want to hire a house cleaner if that was the case. I also worry about the floors being clean enough with LO being close to crawling. I don't want her choking, or chewing on anything gross...
songbirdsinging55 That is kind of stressful about Isaac nursing less often, but I would think it's fine and that he just likes solids a lot. We have the opposite going on. LO doesn't care about solids, and I want to be done nursing at a year. So I'm hoping she starts eating other stuff sometime before then!
Today at lunch I gave LO tiny little pieces of strawberry. I think she ate 2 pieces, so that's something! I'm thinking we're just going to have to give up on purees and give her mashed up or chopped up versions of what we're eating.
nerdalert, my LO much prefers self feeding. some big winners are really soft zuchinni, slices of avocado, piece of banana, hunks of chicken has been big hits. The only thing she'll let me spoon feed lately is yogurt, but even that is usually pretty thick. If I try a puree she wants it thickened with cereal or avocado.

I went into school and worked in my class room. I just keep pitching garbage. I'm so excited by all the stuff that is leaving the room and I keep freeing up space. I only wish I could purge this well at home.
DH watched DD while I was at school and she wouldn't nap for more than 20 minutes at a time. She'll nap 1-2 hours for me but I hold her. DD is going to have an adjustment when school picks back up in 2 weeks for DH and 3 for me. She has transitioned everything to 2 hours later than school year time.
Well, so maybe baby likes to eat all of a sudden! The broccoli last night, bananas this morning, and she ate so much of my blueberry spinach smoothie just now that her lips are blue! She just kept lunging for the spoon. I've been marking "tried" various foods in her book. Now I can say "ate!"

I hate when I have to decide not to be mad that my H threw away the rest of my jimmy johns sandwich that I was dreaming about. He was, after all, cleaning the fridge before we leave for a week. But, but, but...
sjp03 - I highly recommend getting someone to help with cleaning. It is a lifesaver. Even once every 2 weeks for floors and bathrooms and deeper cleaning stuff can make a world of difference. The woman who used to do ours stopped, and I've had trouble finding someone I like since. I've tried a few people, but they haven't really done a good job. Don't get discouraged if it takes a little bit to find someone you like. I'm going to make some calls when I get back from vacation.
Sending good sleeping and eating vibes to all the babies! I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be in patchy service this week, so I might not be around.
