I think I might have taken it a bit OTT this time around.

tldr: Night one of sleep training was a success but I f'd up by correcting DSs sleeping position.

Went to sleep at 7.45, fussed a bit at 8.30, 3 and 5. Silly me turned him over when he was fussing and sleeping on his face at 6. He woke up wanting his bottle. Had a meltdown, followed by a rage poop. I only gave him his dummy to soothe while changing his diaper and took it away to give him his bottle put him down and he dozed on & off until 8.30 on his face.


Silly kid. I feel like a new woman!

Guuuuuuuys my baby HATED his first attempt at swimming. DH and I had perfect 93 or 94 degree spa water, he (hubby) was in the water I was on the outside, we smiled big and tried to present it as super fun and he just sobbed the entire time he was in the water. He loves baths. I am baffled. How can I make swim time fun for my lil guy??

I promise I will also Google this... But I'm pretty distressed at how traumatized he seemed and I would love to know if anyone else has experienced this.

jensoprano82, that's odd! But can happen, my nephew hated it also. He likes things to be on his own terms. I remember my sister was first just putting his feet in, and then they went out. Then back in up to the knees. Theeeeen back out. And so on and so forth. That seemed to work better. He loves it now! Probably your DS just got a shock?

Fuck. I didn't again. I turned off the volume on LOs monitor last night. I have zero recollection of waking up at all. I think I need to move the monitor farther away from me.

jensoprano82 oh no! We haven't taken our LO in a pool yet because we don't have one (and nobody has invited us over despite my hints! lol) but I pretty much assumed he would love it because he loves baths. No advice unfortunately

mishka29 I am so worried I'll do this one night too. Try not to stress, baby survived and that's all that matters.

When do babies learn about the weekend?? Yawn. He did sleep well though. Up at 2:30 and 5. I thought because he was up at 5 we might get to sleep in a bit, but nope. Up at 6:30. He did have a soaked diaper and fresh poop when I got him up, so I'm assuming that's why.

This morning was the 2nd day in a row that he peed through his diaper. I guess we're sizing up to 3's for bedtime even though the 2's still fit. I'll have to finish off the 2's during the day.

jensoprano82 that's disappointing! Maybe he was just confused that it wasn't the same place as bath time, and he'll be more comfortable next time?

mishka29, I've definitely done that before. When I realized at 6 AM she was wide awake and smiling, so whatever crying she did at night didn't seem to traumatize her!

My H definitely made a comment last night about how it's been 6 months and I still haven't lost the baby weight. Still so pissed. He is pissed that I am pissed. So very glad he took an OT shift this morning so I don't have to be around him today!!

We're going to try to head to the zoo in a little bit. It's the first sunny day in awhile, so our hope is to be there when they open to beat some of the crowds. We have a membership but have been waiting until dh could go with us. Well, that and waiting until summer decided to join us in ohio .

Daddy took DD so I could sleep a little more this morning what did she do? Fall back asleep almost immediately. So both of then slept on the couch till 7:15.

I still got my extra 2 hrs of sleep so I won't complain, but 5am for mom and 7 for dad come on!

I've gained weight since Jake was born. EYOOOOO!

DH and I are planning on going to the beach today. He was so sweet with calling his parents to see if they will watch N for us. But of course now I'm just going to be stressed about what they're doing. I only want to be there long enough for him to need 1 bottle, but I know mil is going to say he was still hungry or whatever.

I'd almost rather not go, but I do need a break (even though I get one during the day at work...yall know what I mean).

aggiebug Jake does that with grandma and grandpa. And took a 3 hour nap at daycare... Then they all say they don't see what the problem is. gggrrrr

Went to get the kids up today. DS managed to wiggle out of his swaddler and pjs. He was basically naked from the waist up.

jensoprano82, Maybe he was just having an off day? When we try anything new near DS's witching hour its a miserable failure. Try again when he is usually at his best?

mels823, Hell no. I am so sorry your DH had the balls to say that to you. My DH wouldn't have balls anymore if he tried that. Your body just made a human being. Like a whole new person and that is badass. I am mad for you.

Chiming in to say that the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy is super good and anyone who enjoys fantasy and YA books should get it.

ETA: I first read the books after Wil Wheaton talked about them a couple years ago. He's the last person I'd think of enjoying a book marketed towards teen girls, if that helps give some perspective. The books are super good. Read them!

Oh no. We're planning on taking DS to the pool for the first time today. Hopefully he was just shocked and doesn't actually hate it.

Morning. I'm at my parents in Delaware for the weekend. DD did not sleep great last night but I put her in the crib for a nap this morning and she is now asleep. I'd just loveeeeeee a nice 2 hour nap for her this morning. Fingers crossed!

Now we are trying to figure out dinner. DH really wants crabs but do I really want to risk traffic and long waits in Ocean City, MD on a summer Saturday night? Hmm.
