Taking over two weeks off from work makes for a crazy Monday! I have been working for two hours already and haven't finished catching up on my emails yet :-(
It was so nice to be off and have all of the time with lo but I am actually feeling better about work today than I thought (I really do like my job)! It is also nice my H has a reduced summer schedule so he is on Max duty in the mornings until our nanny gets here which is awesome!
My little hulk baby is almost 24lbs and is crawling all over I can't believe how fast the time has gone!

H is on day 8 of working straight. He got home after I was asleep yesterday and Saturday. Buuut, M pooped on the potty this morning so that was a win. I'm thinking it might be time to put his seat on the big potty because cleaning out the little potty was pretty much just about as much work as spraying off a diaper. Oh, and he peed all over the floor instead of in the potty... I have a feeling that won't be the last time I'm cleaning up misdirected urine, though.
wildflower810 - I really don't understand how potty training this early works, but congrats on the progress you are making.
We took LO to the pool yesterday for the first time. I can't believe that it took until mid-July to be able to find the time. He loved it! LO has been in a great mood all for the past several days and I loved being around his smile and giggle all weekend. He's had a rough couple weeks with whatever nasty stomach bug he had followed up with a double ear infection. But he seems to be all better now.
For a while we weren't sure what color his hair was, but every day it is looking more and more red. Ginger babies are so cute! I hope it stays red, but who knows...
Wow, you have a good-sized crawler spikesmom! And what a blessing that you really do like your job- Hurray for pooping in the potty wildflower810!! When you put the ring on the big potty, lmk how it goes. We had such a nice weekend that I really didn't want to come in to work today. Baby wakes up so happy, it's hard to say goodbye! I might have to go get a donut to ease my transition.
sjp03 We're wondering if we have a ginger on our hands too! It depends on the day and the light, but I sure have gotten a lot of comments... We've been using the potty since 2weeks, and she goes almost every time I put her on it, but I definitely wouldn't call her potty trained. She just knows that's what it's for. I'm so glad your LO is feeling better!

People ask me all the time if LO has red hair. It is golden blonde, the exact same color mine was when I was his age. But his skin can look reddish sometimes, making his hair look red. It's become a bit of a running joke that LO is a ginger.
So I finally went to a Buy Buy Baby this past weekend. We just got one and DH and I checked it out for baby gates and ended up picking up a bunch of things. I really liked it, just a bit more organized than BRU. We ended up not getting baby gates, because I didn't like any of them so now I'm on this DIY baby gate kick. I've found a few on pinterest I like and DH said he'd make them. Yay!
wildflower810 - We almost bought LO a potty at BBB over the weekend but opted not to this time. I say it can't hurt to get them on a potty now.
Last night LO slept in his newly lowered crib, he lasted a few hours before ending up back in my bed. Then he woke up at 4 am, he sat up, leaned over me and spit up right down my nursing tank. I was soaked. He got it all over the sheets too (of course I laid a towel over that part and went back to bed). But man this kid thrashes around at night. I'm downright delirious this morning.
Sick babies make for long weekends that make you wonder where the time goes. LO was so fussy yesterday after the 2.5 hour nap wore off. She didn't want to eat and couldn't nap in the afternoon. We finally packed her into the Baby Bjorn and took the dog for a walk. Baby was asleep before we got half a block from home.
Same thing again at bedtime, fussing up a storm. She finally fell asleep on me in bed. Phew. Can I get a re-do on the weekend?
Morning! So I decided last minute NOT to go on this trip with H to Chicago. If we left yesterday instead of today we would have had two full days to spend in the city before H would have had to work. I was all set with my decision last night (he left it up to me) and now I regret it today lol. It's sooo much harder when they are sporadic. When he is constantly in and out we get into a routine. Now my routine has been H being around all the time and now he's gone. Only till Wednesday night, though. He loves to be home with us just as much as we want him home. I've noticed he doesn't really "pad" any extra time into his trips. He leaves at the last possible minute and comes home the first chance he can.
Liam is napping now, but man I think he is in a mega growth spurt. I've upped his bottles to 7 oz now and he is eating every 3 hours and sometimes I have to make another 2-3 ounces in his bottle so he is satisfied! He has been roughly the same size from 4 months to 7 months but now that we are approaching 8 months old I think he'll be in 18-24 months size very very soon. I measured him the other day and he was approaching 30 inches. CRAZY.
He's crawling around like crazy, pulling up and standing every chance he gets. He started waving hi and bye yesterday! TOTALLY adorable. Still no clapping, and we still haven't found a food he doesn't gobble down lol.
When he wakes up I'm going to fill my day with shopping then dinner at my parent's house tonight.
ninergirl52, Liam's bedroom is so tiny that when we put his crib together we knew we were not going to want to undo any portion of it to lower it so it's been on the lowest setting since we put it together. It's tough to get him down there, but eventually they get used to it. He wakes up everytime I put him down, but I just put my hand on him and shush and he falls back to sleep.
Also re:hair we all know Liam's hair color lol. However since being outside in the sun it's lightened a good shade or two and he's sporting some lovely golden and copper highlights. One of my friend's has two little ginger children and they are beautiful. Totally unexpected, though. She and her husband are both portuguese- olive skin and dark brown hair and eyes (both of them) and two out of their three children are gingers lol. Though they do tan very well in the summer
Alright ladies. Bit of a drive by - Monday is hectic at work today, but:
How much waking is unreasonable for a baby this age? We've completely lost our "long" stretch of sleep and I've googled too much and I have no idea WHAT TO DO! Do we sleep train? Do we pretend it doesn't matter and know it'll end one day? We're up to 3-5 wake ups a night now, and I don't know shit but I know it feels like too many. HALP

DH is at training today so DD and I are hanging together. She is really clingy today after being at the ILs all day yesterday. August third when I go back to school is going to be rough on DD.

Drive by today but I will catch up later on after work. Isaac is definitely weaning himself. I really don't think I will make it to a year. I pumped today and didn't make anything on the left breast. I am trying to decide if I want to stop or continue. Decisions decisions.
Also holy crawlers out there! I am so nervous for this lol And gingers are absolutely adorable. Isaac is very dark compared to my nieces and nephews. He is the only one who looks Mexican lol.
jjh1119 Cool article! I also make the psssss sound (or unnnhhh, as appropriate :-))! pixie523 is it a growth spurt? Does the frequency of wake ups feel too much to you alone- without the social pressure, or feels too much because everyone always wants to fracking know how does she sleep? If you are okay with it, then who cares how many wake ups. If you're going crazy, try sleep training lite and see if it makes a difference! Twice yesterday when I waited to go in, baby went back to sleep! But probably four times she didn't... sjp03 I can see your cutie on iPhone tapatalk! My pump is making crazy bubbly noises. I'm off to research.

sjp03 - what a cutie!! My LO's hair color is almost identical. pixie523 - we are kind of in the same boat. LO wakes up so much things happen that I don't even remember now (yikes!) I found an empty bottle on the counter this am and asked DH about it. He said, "You don't remember me going to get him and you told me not to bring him back to bed?" - huh??? No NOT AT ALL!! I feel terrible about that. LO starts the night off in his bed, then usually wakes up at 1 am, and at least 2 or 3 more times before I get up at 5:50 am. I've been thinking the same thing about how to wean him off this nutty wake up thing he does. He literally sits up in our bed, doesn't open his eyes and starts whining ... it's far from pleasant. He's delirious when he does it. We try to get him to lay back down but it usually takes a little bit of wrestling him to get him to lay back down.
zengal, good question. two wake ups? not my favorite but I can handle. 5 wake ups starting 45 minutes after she goes to bed? that's too much and it's making me so frustrated. (and frankly trying my patience and making me a bad parent)
So let's take last night for example: Down by 7pm Up at 7:45 - binky back in; back to sleep Up at 8:50 - binky back in; back to sleep Up at 10:30 - hugs, binky, rocking, temperature change of room Up at 1:45 - eat Up at 4:something or other - just brought to bed to cuddle; slept until 6:15
Clearly something is waking her up every hour and it's called binky. When she wakes up she doesn't go hunting for her binky to self sooth. I've tried littering the crib with binkies. I've clipped a binky to her little lamb lovey thing. I don't want to wean from her binky, but maybe that's the answer. UGHHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH
sjp03, He's so cute. I predict strawberry blonde, really light copper hair.
pixie523,I was going to ask growth spurt but it seems that it is not. Liam has been waking quite a bit lately as well, though. I think it's temperature. I don't know. But he is also waking twice to eat and then when he is up for the day he is starving again. If it's driving you crazy than maybe light sleep training. I give him a few minutes. Wait for an actual cry. That has definitely cut down on one of us getting up to give him his lovey/shush him back to sleep. I swear wednesday night we each got up 5 times. He finally came into bed with us at 4 am.
songbirdsinging55, crawling is fun! I think because Isaac has a pretty good grasp on language he might be able to listen to you better. Liam is a stubborn little man. I am pretty sure he knows that I'm telling him he needs to turn around away from the shoes but he much prefers for mama to get up and bring him back lol. My house is tiny though so I can basically see him on every inch of the house. The amount of head boops have gone up significantly though. But it's fun good luck on your decision with breast feeding.
OMG. not even sure how I was able to put the spoon down but "Tonight Dough" flavored ben and jerry's ice cream is just about the greatest thing ever. Cherry Garcia, Half Baked and S'mores have all been knocked down a notch for this one.
Chocolate and caramel ice creams swirled together with a chocolate cookie swirl and peanutbutter cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough chunks throughout.

pixie523, We went through the same thing at 4 months. We did end up taking away the binky. It actually worked... I think he didn't search for it when he woke up because he didn't have it when he went to sleep. It really did suck putting him to bed... it took WAY longer but it was worth it in the long run. PS I caved and reintroduced it when he was teething 2 months later he usually wakes up now around 4 I stick the binky in and he will sleep till 6-6:30 :/.

ninergirl52, and sjp03, My son's hair is similar to that too. Sometimes he looks totally blond and other times you can see some red in it. I love it
wildflower810, zengal, That is awesome you guys are already getting them to go on the pot!
OMG Levi has put himself to sleep twice today... ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! He never does this. Up until today I have had to walk, bounce, and rock this baby all simultaneously. I think I have lost 5 pounds just try to get this boy to sleep. Oh I hope this is continues!

Babies on the potty are all fun and games until they don't know how to aim. I've mopped up pee off the floor twice today! This last time M was spraying all over himself and the floor and the look on his face said "what is happening??"

DH and I did some shopping yesterday so now I have a new dress, skirt, and 2 tops. So I no longer hate everything. I also started making more of an effort when I'm leaving the house.
I went to my favorite store and tried on a bunch of dresses and discovered none of them fit right (mainly my boobs, I feel like my As got even smaller). It's so hard to find things that properly fit this post baby body.
I never had my donut today, but I think I'll have ice cream now jjh1119! MsNicole06 I'm glad you don't hate all your clothes anymore. It is really hard to find acceptable things to wear. I think our boobs are opposite. All my shirts seem like crop tops now, since the boobs take up so much room. But I took advantage of the gap 40% off thing someone mentioned and I have four (hopefully longer) shirts on their way to me now, plus my stitch fix, so by next week maybe I won't hate all my clothes too!

Speaking of shopping- I have been building up my wardrobe every week during my target excursions. So I have tons of new things only a couple months old and I still feel like I hate almost everything. Like only the newest thing I bought I liked and everything else sucks. Am I the only one that does this? Lol
Post by MsNicole06 on Jul 13, 2015 20:50:56 GMT -5
jjh1119 I have been known to do that. I no longer shop alone because I require honest feedback and am less like to no longer love them after I get them home. I also try to go look for specific items, I am in the market for dresses and tops. I feel good about my pants and skirts after much analyzing of my wardrobe.

Lo & I went shopping today. I tried on a zillion dresses (at least so it seemed) as I was specifically looking for something to wear to a wedding ... But I have to be able to bf in it. I found a great navy maxi dress from banana republic & even scored 2 shirts. My size is weird now. I'm 5 lbs under pre-pregnancy but weight definitely shifted. I have a pooch that the csection did no favors to & just feel wider around my midsection now. Ugh!
