Woke up around 430 thinking our house was going to blow over and no power so we spent the rest of the night in the basement. Thankfully there wasn't too much damage but there is another round of storms coming tonight. So far we just lost a tree in our backyard.
Who has a chainsaw that wants to come clean that up??
Also we still have no power How am I supposed to make my coffee??

Wow. That is nuts! I'm glad you guys are safe. Gingers crossed that the weather improves and you get your coffee!
ajh1230, Sounds like a good excuse to stop at Starbucks this morning. We've been having some crazy storms too, I think everyone is this year. What a great summer we're all having. Yikes.
I am super exhausted today! Yesterday was such a whirlwind but our picnic went really well! We have so much leftover food though! I won't be cooking all week and we'll be eating cake for breakfast for at least a few days. We also have at least 50 cans of beer in the fridge and 3 big bottles of wine that are still half full. So if I were to visit the what's for dinner thread I'd be listing a bunch of picnic food, cake and wine. Not a bad week to look forward to actually!

I'm so happy the picnic went well! Jealous of the cake for breakfast! Got enough to share?

This sounds like an amazing menu for the week. Cake 'n beer!

DD is still a mess. We're going to the doctor later. The nurse said it sounds like Molars. WHAT THE WHAT!? She has two teeth guise. How can she be getting molars?!

We had crazy storms here last night too. With all the lightening it felt like a war zone. Haven't been outside yet, but don't think we had any damage. Glad you're okay and hopefully the tree is the only damage you'll have with all the crazy weather.

My kid has been pulling up and cruising the furniture for a while now. Yesterday she started letting go of things and standing unassisted for a few seconds. I am not ready.
I'm sitting in orientation for my new job. I keep doing to nod off..it's not that big of a room. And of course I didn't realize I picked a decaf tea..I hope there is soda at lunch.
We had such a nice weekend I wasn't ready for it to end. This week is going to be crazy packing for vacation next week. My list for things to pack "the whole house"! Haha.
FFMC: I updated my underwear collection to all new granny panties and it is awesome. My underwear drawer had been a mix of all different brands, styles, and sizes. A lot of them were pretty old and dingy. I mostly wore the same 30% of them and justified not throwing out the other 70% because "these are good for AF" or "maybe I'll wear these for a special occassion" or "if I lose 10 lbs, these might fit." However, post pregnancy most of my underwear hit just below my pooch and weren't very comfortable. I finally threw all my old underwear away and bought a whole new collection in a larger size. It is amazing. They are much more comfortable and I know longer half to dig through my drawer to find a pair I actually like.
Why does my coffee pot not function correctly? I pour 12 cups of water and it makes 10.5... and when I pull the pot out the other .5 pours out all over the hotplate... I do not understand.
Good morning! Just got back from running, had breakfast (DS are like a champ) and now just relaxing with coffee. Pretty much a perfect morning. Nothing too big going on today, but we are officially house-hunting. We went to an open house yesterday, and it was eye-opening to see what's on the market, and how there can be good houses that just aren't good for us. Case in point, this one had 3 "bedrooms" but one was a loft, one was also the laundry room, and each one was on a different floor. It would be a great starter home if we didn't have kids, but it just won't work for us now.
I got my coffee! Still no power at my house and I was out of clean bottles so I took A over to my dads. Plus it's going to be 90 today and no bottles was a good excuse to avoid no a/c.
Just got back from DD's 9 month well visit. I'm ways excited to officially see how much she's grown! She weighs less than I thought but she's also taller than I thought. 17 lbs 10 oz and 27.5 inches. They drew blood from her finger for her hemoglobin test and gave her a bandaid but told me to take it off before driving home because it could be a chocking hazard. Sure enough the kid was trying to eat it immediately so I took it off ASAP and she started bleeding all over the place. I ended up digging one of her old Christmas socks out of the bottom of my purse and making her wear it as a mitten. Of course she hated that but hey, it worked.
