Help me with my chest freezer?

My parents got us a chest freezer for Christmas a couple of years ago. At first, it didn't have a lot of stuff in it, but now we utilize the shit out of it.

And it's a GD mess.

Any tips for organization? I'm trying to find some dividers or sumshit. Like, I wanna organize by cuts of meat, frozen meals, pizzas, etc.

We have those in lab. We have racks to put in them that hold freezer boxes. You pull the rack up to see all the boxes. The racks don't have to hold boxes - they are essentially a row of cubby holes.

Not super helpful, I bet. But those things exist!

I bet you could get some cheap containers at the dollar store that you could stack from the bottom up depending on what you use more often. Otherwise I know bed bath and beyond sells "refrigerator boxes" which may hold up to the cold better.

That is genius. I wonder if it is something I would be good about keeping up with. It probably wouldn't be so hard to do if you take the time to inventory when you buy new things, and keep like, a tally that can be erased as you grab things. I think that could really help!

LOL, this solves a problem I wasn't even addressing yet. We're getting to the point where we ask each other what's in there, and how long it's been in there.

Get a stand up... lol. I'm no help. I hate chest freezers.

When we sold out house they tried to ask for our freezer. Hahaha, no.

I am surprised that I am having trouble finding this kind of thing. I logged on to Amazon expecting to have to sift through a bunch of stuff, but haven't found anything.

I saw these cool interlocking thingies that seemed perfect, but apparently they came with a specific Kenmore model. Dammit.

We have a few cardboard boxes that fit perfectly into the freezer and put each type of meat in each box, so it's easy to see when we're low on chicken, pork, beef, etc. Plus it's easy to rotate the oldest stuff to the top.

And +1 to keeping a list of what you have and when it expires.

I'm with nuggetrn. We have a vertical freezer, and we love it!

Otherwise, I would get some smaller cardboard boxes (maybe from a liquor store) and organize that way.
