Yesterday was Joeys birthday, and I can't believe she's 3! We had grandparents and my sis & her fiance over for cake and ice cream on Sunday afternoon. Then yesterday H and I took her to the free (smaller) local zoo. She had lots of fun and we were glad to spend some quality time with her on her birthday!
IG/FB repeat:
A quick stop before the zoo for a treat:
Emmeline is off oxygen today! We took off her nose cannula around 1:15 and when I left at 3:45 she was still doing great, now we need to really work on her feedings before she can come home! She is also still on methadone that they will start weaning soon now that she is completely off of her ativan (pain med).
A pic of before, and after.... Free of one more tube... I joked that she got it off and "suddenly she this is she's Katniss or something!" (Hunger Games reference)
Happy birthday to Joey! Did you catch the Sparky show? And Yahoo for Emme! That's great news.
Unfortunately no. Since it was a Monday they only do it at 10 or 11am - and we didn't see the sign until later. On weekends they do a 2nd show at 3pm which would have been perfect. Oh well.
And way to go, Emme! She's making great strides Hopefully the weaning from the Ativan goes smoothly and she picks up on her feedings. I know you can't wait to get that little girl home.

That's so awesome! Happy belated birthday Joey and yay for Emme! I know you probably don't want to get your hopes up too high, but are the doctors giving any kind of timeline for when she might be able to come home with you?

Not yet... Each baby has their own timeline, so we have to wait and see. She has to start eating more from a bottle consistently before they'll talk about going home. Hopefully she can get this eating thing figured out so it can be sooner rather than later!
