I've got a sick H at home but he can't get any rest b/c work is in the middle of a project deployment.
Yesterday was a day of several firsts. 1. First time I've pumped over 5 oz! 2. I got LO to laugh playing peekaboo. This kid smiles and wiggles when she's amused or pleased, but it's been hard to get her to giggle or laugh. 3. We fed her meat (pureed chicken) for the first time. We mixed it with apple sauce and butternut squash. She almost finished the portion.
gldnbearz congrats on pumping 5 oz and getting LO to laugh.
I'm up DD joined the really crappy sleepers, 10:15, 11:30, 12:30, 1:something, 3:00 & finally 7:30. This dang tooth better break through soon.
DD will crawl to get a toy but only if it's a short crawl. She won't crawl more than 3-4 knee movements. If a toy is further than that she'll try and then give up on crawling and tries to stand up. She really wants to walk it would seem.
Those firsts all sound great gldnbearz! Except boo the sick H And boo crappy sleep MsNicole06. Baby and I have a fun game. She squeals, then I do it back. Repeat however many times. It's actually kind of fun. If I don't do it back, she gets insistent!
It's so weird to be how yesterday I'm up at 330 for the day with LO then today she sleeps till 8. What will tomorrow bring? @lovebuggies I read your comment yesterday about traumatic birth experience. I'm pretty traumatized too! We can talk anytime!
LO slept until 6:30 with only one wake up. The wake up lasted an hour, but I'm like a whole new woman. In the last hour I've dressed both of us, fed both of us, and steamed veggies to purée for lunches.
pixie523 I'm really good but that's because last night was DHs night to deal with DD. He got up with her every time. I rolled back over and slept. This might be the reason I love us both being teachers and same breaks.
Anyone else's LO pull themselves up on things so the are on their knees and then move around object. I guess my best term would be knee walking.

MsNicole06, Oh how I love nights that the dad is on night duty! ps no knee walking... but if I'm picturing it right that would probably make me giggle a little bit
pixie523, YAY!! for a decent night of sleep. Hopefully it will continue!
jax1182014, and @lovebuggies add me to the traumatic birth experience. It may not be as traumatic as some but it sure can bring me to tears if I think about it too much. The funny thing is I was never worried about the birth (and I'm quite a worrier) I was always worried about when they told me I could go home....uhhh what now??? Yeah... it's a good thing I didn't know what is in store for me and Levi during the birth. I think I would have had an anxiety attack. zengal, We play that little game too. However, LO is realizing he can turn his squeal into a yell when he's upset.... yeeaaaah not quite as cute
So on that note... are any of your babies starting to throw tantrums? In the last couple of days when I have taken something away from Levi he has started crying hysterically. The first time he did this I thought I hurt him somehow. OH BOY! Here we go!!!
singingmama10 I've got a pouter. She cries and juts the lower lip out.
zengal we play that game too. DH will raise his voice to match DD as she keeps yelling louder. Then every 3rd/4th time he plays with her she'll burst into tears like he hurt her via noise.
DD just crawled across the living room heading straight to the dog's dishes. Seems his food tote and dishes are all she's willing to crawl for. Thankfully I got it on video and could send to my family out of state.
singingmama10 I have a tantrummer. She leans forward and lays her head on the ground as she's wailing. When she sits back up she puts her hands on her head, looks to see if I'm responding, then lays her head back on the ground. It's usually when I have to set her down to do something else. So yeah pixie523 that gif is my mom life exactly!
I am having a very, very crappy sleeper lately! He is sleeping over my mom's tonight because we will be going to boston. Hes with step mother in law now and I'm going to clean the bejesus out of my house right now and I'm working tomorrow so I'm definitely going to miss my baby!
The first wake up was funny, though. it was 10:30 or so and he was smiling and ready to play. But since the lights were off it creeped me out haha! I had to turn on the little dim light so I wasn't freaked out by him just grinning from ear to ear looking all over the room. He spotted H and was so excited and decided he wanted to play with daddy for a few minutes. Then I rocked him to sleep and he finally went back down. He woke up again many times between but went back to sleep easy enough until 5 when he wouldn't go back to sleep again. I am so tired. We have a super late night tonight too but glad I will have like 5 hours of sleep in a row. I'll TAKE IT.
Is there a typical growth spurt around this time? He was basically the same size from 4 months to a little before 7 months (wearing 9-12 mo size) Then from around 7-7.5 months we were fully in 12-18 mo. NOW we are already moving up to 18-24 mo. Like super fast! He is eating nonstop- probably close to 35-40 ounces of formula plus one pouch of purees (split in two feedings) and little bites of puffs or my yogurt or whatever. Hungry hippo right now.
I miss sleep.
Enjoy your weekend ladies! I pray for continued good sleep/improved sleep for everyone. And a lovely weekend.

gldnbearz - Yay to all of the accomplishments. Pumping 5+ oz is awesome. The only time I can pull that off are on days I've got weddings and I go too long between sessions. @msnicole06 - I'm in the crappy sleeper club too. Pull up a chair and a very large cup of coffee. I think we may need to start a support group. As for the knee crawler, that makes me giggle! Mine crawls normally but then wants to stand up all the time too. singingmama10 - No tantrums just quite yet ... I fear we're getting close. I try to have something else to hand him immediately when I take something away from him. He's kind of easily distracted ... "Squirrel?" pixie523 - I completely relate to that gif!! jjh1119 - I wondered the same thing about the growth spurt because LO can still wear (barely) 9 month clothes, and fits into 12 month, but there seems to be a pretty big leap into 18 month, which LO hasn't started wearing yet. I've been stocking up though, I try to buy the next 2 sizes up when out and about. I'm anticipating him being in 18 month at the very end of summer/early fall.
So I probably haven't mentioned this but I'm blind as a bat without my contacts or glasses in/on. For this reason I have a rather large numbered clock (think grandma huge). When I heard LO on the baby monitor this morning I turned over and it was 4:30 am. I almost leapt for joy thinking he had just slept 7 hours straight. I even mumbled something to DH about him being such a great sleeper. When he brought LO back to bed and I got up to pee, I looked closer at the clock and it was only 1 am. I have NO IDEA how I saw 1:00 am and thought it read 4:30 am?!?!? Needless to say, I do not have a great sleeper on my hands. He also thrashes about quite a bit. AND now when he wakes up from his naps, he doesn't make a sound, just stands up in his crib, looking very proud of himself I might add.

jjh1119 I would love for it there to be a growth spurt. My little darling during the school year went down by 10 and slept until I woke her at 6:30. She then was spending a large portion of summer going down between 11-12 and sleeping until 8:30/9:30. Then some how these last week to week and a half has been hell I know she's teething something fierce. I can feel but not see another top and bottom tooth.
DD is refusing to nap currently and getting more comfortable doing an actual crawl for her toys.
Hey ladies, happy Friday! I feel like I haven't posted for a while but I have been reading along.
I'm in the crappy sleeper club but I've always been in it so it's nothing new here. The last few nights have been worse than usual though....she did ok the first part of the night and the last part she woke up constantly (like every hour!) She just cut her first two teeth and is on day 6 of no poo so could totally be either of those but good lord.
Reading through all of your posts makes me feel like lo is behind....there are so many crawlers!! She will push up and move her legs separately but not together.
I have been reading along but my week has continued to be crazy. I worked 8 hours today which is supposed to be my day off since I worked at least 10 hours M-TH but nope too much work. I will also be working some this weekend just not full days. I'm so bummed because I miss my lo.
My H was with lo today while I went to a 6.5 hour work meeting...it did not go well, not surprisingly lo wouldn't take a bottle and screamed uncontrollably for almost 2 hours apparently. H called me finally and had me talk to lo on speaker phone and it broke my heart because he was sobbing. Hearing my voice did calm him down and H was able to get him to eat some solids and play until I got home. When I walked in lo got the biggest smile and started shaking from excitement which melted my heart. My H needs beer apparently so I'm thinking about taking him out to dinner when lo wakes up from his nap!

kfaye,I agree with MsNicole06, We've had two constipation occurrence so far. The first one, because I was short on time, I just bought the Gerber prunes... it worked but slowly. The second time I made mine own.... it was super sticky and rather thick... but it worked SO quickly. We had a blowout diaper the next morning... and a few more throughout the day. He always seemed comfortable. It works GREAT... just be ready and don't put LO in anything nice.
jjh1119 I was also wondering about a growth spurt! LO just moved up to 24 month clothes. She is only about 20 pounds (the clothes say 27+ lbs), but has a long torso so that's part of it. She's also been waking up to eat about 4x in the motn which I'm not a fan of, but it's ok. She's been going back to sleep easily afterwards, so at least there's that.
Summer has been nice because I don't have to put pants on her, I just do dresses and rompers. Pants are SO frustrating because she has a wide belly and very short legs. So her 24 month pajama pants are just right around the middle, but rolled up like crazy lol. I'm not really looking forward to fall for that reason.
singingmama10 and zengal We have tantrums here too. It happens at bedtime when I'm putting her pajamas on. She KNOWS that means bedtime. I didn't know babies started this type of behavior so soon!
kfaye My lo isn't crawling yet either. I'm enjoying it while it lasts lol.
nerdalert good to know I'm not the only one with a non mobile baby, they will be moving soon enough so I like the attitude of enjoying it while it lasts!
So I gave her the prunes for dinner and a warm bath....when I was getting her in her jammies she started to strain and cry a bit, then started to cry hysterically (like hyperventilating) as she pushed out two decent sized semi hard poops...poor baby I feel like she has more in there, hopefully another round of prunes tomorrow will help
Hope you all enjoyed my play by play poop watch of 2015!
jjh1119 enjoy the travels and the sleep!! That's funny about the creepy smiling in the dark. Hey kfaye! We went 5 days last week and again this week between poos. It's so weird! The play by play is good! (My baby's have been same consistency as usual, so I don't know why so long in between...) We do not have a crawler yet, but I would bet money it will happen over the weekend. Not that I want her to!!
My first stitch fix shipment arrived! Overall, I'm pretty pleased. One flowy top, a knit blazer, dark straight-leg jeans, a scalloped-edge camisole, and polka dot fitted pants (my favorite of the fix!!). I don't love the jeans or cami, but it's only $20 more to keep them because there's a 25% discount if you keep all five items. But MH was raving about the flowy top, and the blazer and polka dot pants are very cool. I would never have found those things on my own, so I feel like my closet is going to diversify with this!
zengal good 2 know there are others out there with poo problems! It's partly my fault, I didn't know that butternut squash can cause constipation and I gave her a bunch last week after I made it. Idk if it's related or not but daycare has been giving her a lot of solids that I hadn't tried with her yet (whole peas, cheerios, and green beans) I feel like she had a really hard time digesting those other things when I was really just doing mostly purees
