Dan and I are realizing that this summer May be our last chance to have a child free non pregnant BIG vacation for a little while. (assuming once we have 2 kids the budget for such will be much reduced for awhile).
Serious question: Where would you go?
We seriously can't decide. Our budget can be pretty flexible so international travel isn't out of the question.

I spent a summer in Copenhagen- it's awesome. I'd love to go back. I also did a little tour if Finland and Sweden while there so you could hit up those places all together.

I was just going to say klongoria11 that I'm itching to go to the Greek islands- find a nice place to stay, eat amazing food and drink and enjoy the beautiful beaches!
I wish we went to Europe before we had kids. We had a 9 hour lay over in London on our way to our honeymoon, but that's the only time we went to Europe together. I backpacked around Europe for 6 weeks as a poor college student. I would love experience the nice restaurants and hotels Europe has to offer. Greece would be amazing; I've never been there. I loved Paris, Barcelona, Prague, Venice, & Amersterdam. I went to Iceland in November. It's cold; I don't recommend that.

You want to go over the summer? I would do Greece, south of France, Italy or Turkey (political climate notwithstanding). If you're up for REALLY long flights, maybe Australia or Thailand.
^Those are all the places I would love to go child-free, haha. We are going to St. Maarten at the end of February but if we were doing a summer trip it would be to a totally different location.
We did an all-inclusive in Antigua for our honeymoon and it was wonderful--I'd definitely go back. Bermuda is wonderful, too, especially at that time of year.
Italy is amazing, if neither of you have been. I studied there and have tons of places I could recommend if you need info. Loved Paris and have done a bit of traveling around France, as well. My dream is to be stationed in Brussels, Belgium, b/c it's so centrally located within the European continent and from there we could travel all over.
Like Shan said, depending on how long you can go for, it can be nice to just pick one of two places, vs. spending all your time on a train jetting from place to place. I find the near-daily travel to be kind of hectic, and I like to relax on vacation at least somewhat.
I have lots of feels on this. When in the summer and how long? Flights to Europe can get really pricey in the summer. I'd probably pick Scotland or somewhere not likely to be too hot to endure without AC. Wales is also a lot of fun.

Planning trips (mine or other people's) is my favorite. Personally, if you have some freedom in your budget, I wouldn't do an all-inclusive. I prefer to not be married to the resort.
If it's May, and you're considering Europe, I would say Monte Carlo/south of France. It's a dream there and you can do country, beach, city, wine country, etc.
If you want to stay domestic, Hawaii. No question.
If you want something tropical, Mexico or Bermuda. I love Bermuda in the warm weather. It's an easy flight for you, great hotels and it feels quaint and frozen in time.
If money really isn't an option, French Polynesian, Maldives, Seychelles.
Fwiw, we are currently planning our last child-free trip for a bit. We're doing Cabo. I love Mexico. You get a little bang for your buck, there are some beautiful beaches and margaritas and guac all day.
It all depends on your budget and how long you want to be gone
I went on a med cruise a couple years ago and it was a good way to see a lot of places. Personally I prefer just picking one or two places and spending more time there, though.
Of the places we went on the cruise the place I'd most like to go back to was Dubrovnik.
My favorite city in the world is Rome.
Dubrovnik was gorgeous!
We honeymooned in Croatia and looooved it!! Dubrovnik is awesome, and Hvar was a favorite too. I only can handle Game of thrones being on since it's filmed there. Croatia is slightly cheaper, but does get insane in the summer since a lot of Europeans vacation there.
How do I go about finding someone to watch my kid for this long?? I want a big trip!

I would totally do Europe if it was an option, maybe a European cruise. But, if you really just want to relax and lay on the beach I would do Mexico or the Bahamas. I like the all-inclusive resorts just to have the option for all the drinks and food, however I agree with Cherhorowitz that I don't like being tied to the resort.
We did our honeymoon at an all-inclusive resort in Cabo San Juan and it was wonderful. We did nothing but drink and eat and lay by the pool!
I second Croatia! I went the year I graduated HS and it was AMAZING AMAZING.
DH and I are planning our first E free trip for February and we are just going to SoCal for a few days, but to escape this tundra winter will be heaven. All my coworkers think I'm insane for wanting to take a trip without E. I just want to have tons of sex, drink and sleep with Ambien. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK!?!
wedding Me too. We've been kicking around checking out Denmark. I want to take Dan to Paris but we are trying to pick a place neither of us have been.
DENMARK IS AMAZING. I WILL CRAWL IN YOUR LUGGAGE AND HIDE.
I lived in Denmark and loved it. Favourite place ever. Would move back there in a heartbeat and renounce pretty much anything anyone asked me to in order to do so. Great food, great sites and sights, great people, easy to travel anywhere from there.
Alternatively - if not Danmark, then I suggest Turkey. Had a great time there, didn't see half of what the country offered, dollar stretches a good ways. Otherwise you could do an all-inclusive resort, but to me, at least, the one in Jamaica got boring after about four days: we'd tried the restaurants, nothing was super impressive, and it was... boring.
