We went to visit my sister in Washington DC when she lived there. I was like 12 probably. We went to a Waterpark the first day. I wasn't very good about my sunscreen and got 2nd degree burns on my back, shoulders and chest. The blisters hurt so bad and I was miserable for the week and a half we were there.

I can honestly say I've never had a bad vacation Knock on wood!
The only (hazy) memory of anything unpleasant vacation related was driving to Disney the first time. I was in first grade, my sister was in fourth and my brother was still in his huge car seat. My parents drove us from the Philadelphia area to Orlando in our blue Volvo station wagon with the big ole car seat in the middle.

Probably my family's across the country vacation sometime when I was in middle school. We drove the entire time from the East Coast to the Rockies and back. Didn't even make it to the Grand Canyon or California before we ran out of time and had to turn around. We were in the car more often than we were out of it, we stopped at weird places along the way (oddly the Spam museum must have been the best thing, since it's all I remember), and camping all 4 of us in 1 tent was terrible (I have trouble falling asleep in a regular bed, let alone outdoors).
I don't think I've ever had a bad vacation, because I don't consider this particular trip to have been a vacation. But in April I went with both kids, without DH, to New York for my grandma's funeral. It was just a mess. From a shoebox-sized hotel room (and I used to live in New York so I had fairly realistic expectations) to cousins who got my kids way overstimulated to just the general headache of being 3,000 miles away from DH with both kids, not to mention all the emotional stress of my grandma's funeral, and only being 2 months PP, oy. It is the only time I have been excited to leave New York.

We went to Las Vegas with my MIL. She got a nice suite for us. I had an almost one year old and was 5 months pregnant. H and I got to sleep on the pull out couch with the three inch mattress that was half fallen through. We ended up sleeping on the floor the first night because the "bed" was so bad. MIL didn't understand why we should walk. She wanted to drive everywhere and complained constantly about walking. She also mentioned more than once that "this really isn't a place for kids, is it?" She was also very upset that we couldn't all go to a show. I tried to let her and H have some time together and sent them to the casino next door during DD's nap time. I texted H about an hour after they left asking how long they would be. They had just gotten on the bus to go to the casino. It was the casino next door, but MIL didn't want to walk.
There's plenty more. H now knows that I no longer will go on vacation with MIL. Can you tell I'm still cranky about this?

A certain vacation wasn't bad per say we went to Miami on a girls trip and we made a pact that no matter what we do we have to eat dinner with everyone together every night we were there, two out of us 5 decided on the second night to disappear. And came back to the room at 6am the next day banging on the door.. we did NOT answer (in drunken sleep) we ended up arguing the whole time with them and basically spent the whole vacation separately from them. On the last day when it was time to drive back they refused to drive their portions and argued that someone drank their milk in the Cooler from krispy Keeme... None of us even drink milk lol

A girlfriend of mine worked at a local radio station and got us tickets to a concert in Myrtle Beach on NYE one year.
I hadn't been to many concerts before then, so I guess I didn't know what to expect.
We waited in a long line, which ended up being the wrong line (we were able to "cut" back in though). Then it was so crowded and smoky, we left early.
Then the next day I got my first speeding ticket while heading home. It was one of those situations where everyone was passing me so I sped up, and it was right before the speed limit increased to what I wad driving. He didn't give me a warning. On New Years Day.

Mine would have to be our family trip to California when I was 15. I LOVE road trips but this one was the worst. My dad had just been married to my stepmom for about 6 months. She had a 9 year old girl from a previous relationship, who had been an only child all her life. The entire way there she kept whining and saying mommy this and mommy that. Add in my younger brother that was 11 and a major pain in my a$$. He was one of those that would just sit and breath on you and say "I'm not touching you" to piss you off. On the way home the van broke down twice. It was awful. We look back and laugh at it now but man did it suck.

This sounds awful. I don't mind car trips, but I need some kind of destination. I don't do well with driving aimlessly and no plan at all.

We totally did the same drive (Jersey to Orlando) with a car seat in the middle in my dads Honda Civic hatchback. I think I was 6.

This is a toss up.
Not really a vacation but after my senior prom I went to Rhode Island for a long weekend with my best friend and our boyfriends. They were on the verge of breaking up so it was a pretty painful "couples" trip.
The other would be a camping trip I did in college with my roommate and my college boyfriend and his friends from home. It poured, my roommate and I found his friends really obnoxious, and it was super boring. I don't mind camping for a concert or event but camping for the sake of hanging out in the woods is not fun.

Last August we went to the beach with DH's parents, older sister, younger sister, her husband, and their two boys. I was throwing up several times a day (woo pregnancy) and could not go to a restaurant without total pukefest, so I stayed home when the family went out & sometimes DH stayed with me, which pissed off older SIL. My ILs spent most of the vacation in their room, which pissed off both SILs. I dunno. It was just a weird week of everyone being angry, which made DH really sad cause we're the ones who planned the vacation. We've taken this same vacation before with better results. We're going again this fall and I'm sadly not looking forward to it because last time was the worst.

Ugh, last summer. We drove 12 hours to my MILs house while I was having morning sickness. I love my MIL but she is a slight hoarder and has given up on trying to clean her house because her SO and other kids refuse to help. I had to spend a week up there in a house that was dirty and that did not help my morning sickness. It was supposed to be relaxing but it was miserable. Between the drive and the dirty house, I was super sick the whole time.
I've never had a bad vacation just some road blocks.
In Greece 2010 everything went on strike so our flight to the islands was cancelled. It was a struggle to get things rearranged, new tickets on a ferry and getting out of the city before the protests started. (So greatful we left things got crazy and people died). Stressful.
Germany, since I had to listen to DH complain a lot. Now he talks about it as his favourite trip!
No really bad trips, but two had rough parts. I studied in Italy in between college and grad school. The first couple days of that trip were absolute disasters. Our luggage got lost somewhere between Canada and Rome, so we had to wait for it to be delivered. In the meantime, my travel partners went ahead and paid me for the hostel where we were staying. They did this before we headed to the Vatican to sight see. While there, I had my wallet stolen from an inside zippered part of my purse. Since it was so far buried, I didn't realize until later when I went to pay for something. Huge fail. The overall trip was amazing, but the start was bad.
Post-marriage: dh's cousin and his fiance stayed with him in the days leading up to our wedding. They are always sick, and That time was no different. They gave us strep throat which we got about 2 days before leaving for aruba. We both were on antibiotics for our entire honeymoon, and the second day there I got a surprise period. Also, still was fun, just unfortunate happenings

This happened the holiday after my best holiday :-P
We went from PA to Holland for the Christmas holiday to see family. We had been renovating the house but they promised it would be done by the time we came for vacation. But of course, they were nowhere near finished our kitchen was completely open with only plastic sheeting covering it from the elements. There was dirt everywhere, and the builders took off for the holidays. We were freezing and miserable most of the time :-P I don't know why my parents were stubborn and didn't go to one of our grandparents but ok. Then we came back and got stranded at JFK airport for 3 days because of a blizzard. They'd also lost 2 of our suitcases had gotten lost on the trip. Naturally all my stuff (luckily I was the smallest so I could wear my sister and mom's stuff like a hobo) and all our christmas presents They kept promising us we'd be on the next flight out. On the 3rd day my dad decided to drive back despite all the snow in a rental, and half way through our drive a new snowstorm trailing us so my dad started speeding up. Then he got a huge speeding fine. Best. trip. ever :-P

UGH, that's AWFUL! That shouldnt even be considered a holiday. BUH!

Oh nooooo I remember that! A friend/coworker of mine was in those riots and got pretty hurt. I'm glad you got out of there! Plus Athens in the summer is awful... Hopefully the islands were better!
Not really all bad but we went to AZ in early September. Never again! Dry heat my ass! This Midwestern girl cannot handle 110 degree weather and a 90 degree pool...
Cuba. I went with my BF 10ish years ago? He was a tool and the trip was horrible partly because of him and partly because we got sick from the water and it took 6 weeks to recover. Cuba is beautiful but everything was working against this trip.
Worst vacation was when I was younger, I drove down to visit my dad. I had strep throat though, and just started antibiotics the day before the trip. I started feeling sick to my stomach on the trip down, by the time I got there I was sick. I kept on sneaking away to the bathroom, but then after a day in the car, we stopped at a casino for lunch after a particularly curvy section of road and I puked in the parking lot. Ya, not fun, especially with a sore throat. The next day I was leaving, and my mom called and mentioned that she had been sick with a stomach bug since I had left her house. When I left I said goodbye through closed doors to my dad and family, since they were all sick as dogs. I was totally Typhoid Mary and I felt horrible.
