I'm puking and crying while watching this. My emergency csection with my 4lb DS went nothing like this .... Do we have any car birth STMs in here? I'd say it was probably one of my biggest fears. But she popped that 10lber out like it was nothing!

I watched this yesterday. I like how she told her husband to just keep driving. Wow! This was her third baby, I think, and I have heard the vast majority of car births are not the mother's first kid.
I almost started pushing in the car. I didn't even know that's what was happening. The nurses said it was a close call. And that they'd already had one car baby that week and two in a week is really rare ? I'm a little afraid what will happen if the second time is faster....
That happened to a teacher at my mom's school for her first. They were able to stop in front of a firehouse so an EMT helped her deliver then transported them to the hospital. It was only a 20 minute drive to the hospital for them but baby had other plans.

I saw this on FB this morning. Why was her husband not stopped and trying to help her? Also, using his cell phone camera while driving? The whole thing was just so WTF for me.

Pretty sure it was a goPro in his cup holder. And really there's not much he could've done. That was crazy fast labor.
There was a woman on my last bmb who had her baby on the side of the highway. She had her older daughter in the backseat and they (her husband was driving) weren't going to make it time so they pulled over and the baby was born in the car.
And for fast labors, my sister had her second baby like crazy fast. From the time her contractions started until he was born was under 2 hours. She got to the hospital fully dilated with no time for pain meds.

I think I read that birth story.
If it assuages anyone's fears, my labor was fastest with my first. I kept getting sent home from L&D with my last one because I wasn't dialating enough to admit me. The last time I went in, I said "I'm staying this time, even if I have to sit in the hallway. You are not sending me home again." And that time, they said I finally was progressing enough to admit me. DD was born about 8 hours later, about 2 full days after contractions started.
My good friend gave birth in the car to her second child. She reached down and his head was there and she couldn't hold him in so she pulled off her pants and pulled him out onto her lap. So crazy! My first took 2.5 hours to push out so not even close to this.
I watched this video a few days ago when it first went viral. They just did a short interview on the Today show and they said that they don't own a cell phone. So, knowing that the mom totally made the right call in telling him to keep driving to the birth center.
This is definitely a fear of mine. I was induced with DS so I truly don't know how fast my labor will be without an induction. Our hospital is 45 minutes - hour away depending on traffic plus DH works an hour away in the opposite direction. It freaks me out to think about it.
This freaks me out, too! Our hospital is 30mns away. DDs labor was 10.5hrs, from the moment my water broke til when she was born, but once I reached 10cm, she was out in 15mns! DH didn't think the video was real at first because it all just went so quickly and calmly. I'm glad everyone's doing well!
A friend of a friend had her husband deliver their baby on the side of the road in traffic. Luckily he was a Navy SEAL and had some emergency training under his belt. Terrifying.

I love that his first question was "I wonder if we have to pay for the birthing centre if we didnt use it" thats something I would totally ask!
I think DH is a little terrified of this happening, but its more a concern if its snowing very heavily. We are in Montreal and it can get some pretty awful snowstorms in February. He's convinced I'll go into labour in a blizzard. Thankfully we only live about 25 minutes from the hospital.

This is my fear as well. We live less than 5 miles from my hospital but I'm still paranoid.
