My daughter is 5 weeks old today. How quickly time goes!
She isn't a great sleeper. Usually only has 2 naps during the day for about 1 hour each. Nights she does a 3 hour stretch from about 7pm til 10pm but then wakes every 1 to 2 hours after that until about 6.30am when we're up. Feed and change takes around 40 minutes each time so we're not getting much sleep after midnight. Not sure why, happy to hear any tips! AW - rocking her bear tracksuit: **poof**
Z is 6 weeks old today. I'm worried you'll all hate me after this, but Z has slept through the night most of his life. We had to wake to feed for several weeks, but now he sleeps for a 6-8 hour chunk each night. During the day he doesn't like to be put down while sleeping, but at night he does great so I don't mind. Our only trick is his aquarium projector. I think it hypnotizes him or something because he just can't fight sleep once it's on. Here's the cutie patootie (did I just say that?!) hanging out at the lake this weekend.

How many weeks old is your LO? 6 weeks here too!
How is the sleeping (or lack of) going? Any tricks to share? In general he's a really good sleeper, of course like all babies he has his bad nights and good nights. He does better if he poops before bed, but that's completely out of my control. This week he's been giving us a 5-7 hour stretch, followed by every 3 hours. Last night he went 10 hours.
My only tricks are the trite ones: Swaddle and swaddle tightly No caffeine during the day No lights during feed No eye contact during feeds
Really, I think most of it is luck. Some babies are just better sleepers than others.

My twins are 9 weeks old today!
Please don't hate me, but Alice and James sleep from 10pm-6am every night. No MOTN wake-ups at all. We swaddle them and put them down in their bassinets. They fuss for maybe 10 minutes and then fall asleep. Naps during the day are a little rough because Alice wants to be held while she's napping.

No hate ladies, but much jealousy! Tonight I've had a bit better run with 2 hour sleep periods rather than 1.5... Progress? Are your good sleepers BF or FF?

I don't think anyone can hate on your TWINS sleeping through the night. Especially since you're doing double duty during the day. That's amazing!
Agreed. If not for having twins, though, you'd totally have some hate coming your way

Mine's breastfed. I know it's killer, but remember, eventually they all sleep through the night. And just because some of us get longer sleep now, doesn't mean we will continue with that. With sleep I've found that as soon as you think you've got it down, things change.

baileybaileybne - my 6 week old is also up every 2 hours. If I'm very lucky he'll go for 2.5.
I read about trying to soothe baby to get them back to sleep first, even if it only buys an extra 15 minutes - they are going that much longer between feeding. I'm tempted to try it. I cannot wait until this kid lets me sleep. I go back to work in min-August and will be a hot mess at work if I don't get more sleep by then.

BF, but like billyhorrible said things could change at any time. I'm just waiting for the next growth spurt to come along and throw us for a tailspin.
