I have quickly gone from feeling pretty good today to feeling like crap. I don't want to move. I have so much pressure I don't even want to sit up. I'm also really crampy and I would just like all of this to be over now.

Congrats heavenwhip ! @runningmommy so sorry about your what happened with your MIL- that really suck.
Last night at our birthing class, the instructor, who is a l&d nurse at the hospital I will be delivering at, told me not to get a headache. Now I'm frisking paranoid whenever I feel a headache coming on. Also knowing that if my blood pressure is too high I will be going back to L&D is stressing me out, to the point where my first reading is over the limit. Last night, DH made me a cookie so I could calm down enough to take my blood pressure.
shortstack, That seems strange that she told you not to get a headache.. I have gestational hypertension and they just said if you have a headache that won't go away with tylenol or is unusual to get checked. It can definitely raise your blood pressure if you're worried about it so if you get a headache take something, and then just relax, have a glass of water, lay in bed or on the couch and just try to focus on getting rid of the headache. Give the medicine time to kick in and then check your pressure.
Obviously not a medical professional, that's just my advice. Obviously if you feel like you need to go in, go in. Does your L&D have a triage number? If you give them a call before you go in, they might be able to save you a trip!
So I need to give my baby vitamin D daily? When was someone going to tell me this! The further along I get the more I realize I don't know anything!
This is the first I've heard too!
I think it depends too on where you are, I haven't read all the responses yet, but I believe baby will get tested to see if they need it. The further away from equator and people who live in colder winter regions see the sun less and it is more if an issue. I haven't researched this, its just what I gleaned from hospital child birth classes.

shortstack I know headaches that don't let up can be a sign of preeclampsia. I don't know why she would say not to get one. I suffer from migraines and luckily, when I'm pregnant, they don't manifest as much, but headaches still happen.
Usually I'll take a Tylenol, drink lots of water, and eat something. If it goes away...no worries. If it turns into a migraine, well, it's not a headache anymore.
A Have-You-Ever-Experienced-This question: I'll try and describe it the best I can. I feel like I've been having one big long contraction. My stomach is so tight and I have that crampy contractiony feeling. But instead of contract-and-release, its contract-and-stay-there. Its been this way for over ten minutes now. It doesn't really hurt, but it is uncomfortable. Doctor call worthy?

This. My doc said if it's horrible and nothing helps, come in. Otherwise, it's just a headache and no need to worry. I'm dealing with high bp too. It's no fun, but try not to stress too much. As long as your doc keeps a good eye on things, you should be fine. But, like lemon200 said, if something doesn't feel right, call or go in. It certainly won't hurt.
I am so sorry. Can you have a talk with your MIL about this? She needs to understand how important it is for you to give DS1 attention, too, right now, and obviously she doesn't seem to care.

Thanks for the advice guys.
In regards to our PP period talks, this video (while not directly related to PP) should be required viewing for Hs/SOs. Important to note: NSFW or children
What do you guys think of these knobs together? The top drawers are single and the bottom 2 rows are the handle style.
They seem to match to me. It looks like they are meant to go together. Whatchya workin on?
I bought a dresser on a garage sale site last week...I posted pix of it and the bedding that I was trying to coordinate it to in the nursery thread. I should have a finished product within the next day or so. I put hopefully the final coat of paint on it tonight.

Lol well I'm probably the furthest away from the equator, so it looks like I'll be needing these drops!

Yeah! In Canada they give it out at the hospital. Pay attention to the dose the doctor says though, there is a certain latitude where the dose doubles (somewhere around Edmonton). If you're near that line, your friends below the line might say they were told a different dosage than those above it.
Thanks for the tip. I'll pay attention, I'm right around there.
@missava387 In 37 weeks, I have spent about 30 minutes total with my doctor. This week I don't think he was in the room for more than 90 seconds. I never get any info from him other than, "looks good - see you next week!" He's always been receptive if I ask questions but does not offer information up on his own.
+1 to this but not my ob. It's yhe other doctors in the practice. They are in and out in a matter of minutes. Is there an online system where you can send questions?
