esgrunner can you share your breakfast recipes? The pumpkin oatmeal sounds delicious! I kind of forgot about breakfast in my freezer meal prep. I do have some spinach egg mini quiches and strawberry oatmeal muffins for DD, but nothing for me and DH.
Here's the pumpkin oatmeal recipe, both DH and I really like it. To serve it, I also like to add plain Greek yogurt, nuts, dried cranberries, whatever we have around. I do follow the suggestion to put yogurt in with the milk when whisking everything together.
I may make up a double batch of this steel cut oatmeal in the crock pot to freeze also. Instead of the dried cranberries and figs, I like to add a couple of cut up apples and some cinnamon! It smells so good to wake up to!
For the egg sandwiches, I just toast an English muffin, then put on a cooked egg (baking a bunch at once in the oven in muffin tins works perfectly, size wise), a piece of bacon and a piece of cheese. I cook the bacon ahead of time on the Foreman grill, which drains off a ton of fat and makes it "healthy" bacon! Then, just microwave it when you take it out of the freezer.
The pumpkin oatmeal looks perfect, thanks so much for sharing the budget byte website, I can't wait to try these.
My fucking punk ass dog decided it was a good idea to open the cardboard box the ottoman for the nursery is in. H got home first and saw it and he assured me the ottoman was not damaged. WELL IT IS. The bitch got slobber all over the side and ripped it. I'm fucking livid. H says his mom can fix it (she does shit like that for a living) but as you may remember, she's as reliable as some of our contractions have been. Eisklaurshajebzjbwnalidjebqobbkwkaldnjee is how I feel right now.
Feeling super frustrated...cannot find white 4 inch cabinet drawer pulls that I like. I'm going to have to resort to all metal.
Have you considered getting the something clear for the dresser? We used something like this when we refinished DDs and it turned out nice - they down stand out but they definitely add to the look.
I did what you shouldn't do and asked Dr. Goggle a question. Now I've freaked myself out a bit. Tell me if you think I need to worry but I'm warning its a little gross (but what isn't these days).
A couple of times in the past weeki-ish. I've noticed my discharge a tinged a little brown. It's not much and the first time I thought it was the lighting. And it hasn't been consistent so it's not every day.
Normal grossness or cause for concern?
I'm getting this too every now and then and just assumed it was normal discharge being all pregnancy and weird and stuff, since it still smells like discharge. TMI? TMI.

I'd be livid. Hope you're shooting her daggers with your eyes and that she's incredibly remorseful. Those are not cheap.
DH: so when the baby comes you will be back to your old self
Me: ah well the first couple of weeks will be rough, the baby wants to eat constantly and it's like you barely have time to take a shower, because you sleep when the critter sleeps, ya know.
DH: well you didn't tell me this before, stop complaining, I thought this is what you wanted.
Me: ahh well yeah but it can be overwhelming at first
DH just stop talking
Me: I am just telling you how I am feeling.
DH well I want to feel happy and you are bringing me down
Jeez somebody needs a reality check, perhaps I should send him a link to the July '15 TMI thread. Muhaahaa!

I defiantly told her I was mad abd she's a bad dog but she's the type of doc who understands then apologizes. It's hard to stay mad at her long but I'll be pissed until it's fixed.

Laverne my husband played the "you wanted this card" a few times before E was born. It bothered me so much one day I said, "I hope you'll love this baby". It probably wasn't the best thing to say but when he asked "why wouldn't I?" I told him what he said on more than one occasion. I mean it was something we both wanted. So....

It's just hard when I feel like I need to edit myself. I want him to know that babies can be hard and frustrating and even though it isn't always a walk in the park, yes this is exactly what I want, you big doodie head, duh!

I feel like I'm winning at life tonight. Just changed my insulin pump site and I got my low battery warning. So I'll be able to totally shut my pump off at 2am Tuesday and will be able to be wire free until I need insulin again, which probably won't be until Thursday, and I can just chane the battery and put a new site in all at once. Excellent planning/circumstances right there.
I'm kind of surprised to see all of these cervical checks! I will be 38 weeks on Saturday and have not had one, with no signs that they intend on doing any. Is there anyone else that doesn't think their midwife/OB will be doing them? I can certainly ask at the next one if that is just something they don't do, I just hadn't thought of it before.
Because my OB was doing the GBS test, she asked if I wanted checked. She said we would do one at 38 weeks whether we did it today or not. I also started having some low, period-like cramps, so I was wondering if they were doing anything. I still have a while to go, so we weren't surprised nothing had happened.
We don't do them. My mw has done births without having to do a single check. We only will do them if we absolutely need to or if I would want to. They are pretty meaningless at this point. I also did my own gbs swab.

Ugh, my husband tried to play the "this was your idea/you wanted this" card a couple of times, and I finally set his ass straight the last time when I completely lost it. That's a completely unfair/uncool thing to say & so very insensitive. We BOTH made this decision. Saying that shit feels like he's trying to evade responsibility or put all of the stress/worries/responsibility on my shoulders. No. Not cool. We are in this TOGETHER. Whatever happens, it's OUR responsibility. You don't get to step in and be a dad when it feels good for you.
runningmommy519,Laverne and girlonabike I am SO glad I'm not the only one who is dealing with the "you wanted this" card. I have been hearing that since the very beginning. Even after puking my guts up first tri... "you wanted this". STFU... RIGHT NOW!
My battery just died in my car. DH is out of town and not within cell service. Thank God for the creepy GM guy that came and jump started it for me. And thank God for Autozone being open until 10. Although a new batter is NOT something I wanted to spend money on right now. ugh.
For our drawers we have two pulls. Excuse the mess, but this is ours.
The colour is a soft grey blue door.
This is the dresser before work. I've already finished painting and it has holes for 2 spots on each side on the bottom. So it'd be 2 knobs literally right next to each other, not on opposite sides of the drawer.
I need advice. I have a Mom friend I don't know well but when we found out we were pregnant she offered us all her baby things if we had a boy because they're done. A couple months ago she gave me breastfeeding pillows, a moby wrap, and several big bags of 0-9 month clothing. So fantastic! She mentioned at that time that she had 2 rock n plays if we wanted them, but that they'd be ready in a few weeks. 2 weeks ago she texted me saying she'd have a couple more boxes of clothing in a week or two and would let me know when they were ready. No mention of the rock n plays. I plan to have baby in the rock n play when he comes home so I really need one asap to wash and all. Is it tacky to text her and ask about them? H says it is and I should just go buy one, but it's not like we have an extra $60 to throw around just because. And I could very well have this baby in 3-3.5 weeks.
Ask - especially since she offered. And it can be as simple as so do you think we can still borrow the rock n play, because if not than I need to go out to get one.
You never know until you ask. The worst that can happen is she says no.
oopsiedaisies Ok, for some reason I remembered in my head your dresser as a single row of drawers and door on the side. Ya two knobs might look odd - too knobby hehe.
I see your problem trying to find white ones you like. When we were looking a lot of white ones looked cheapish or we didn't love them. Maybe metal - is glass/plastic combo?
ampaints, I was looking at your announcement, are you wearing a yellow bracelet that says "don't fall"? haha As if you need a reminder to not fall? I like it and was thoroughly amused!
Yes ma'am. It's a reminder to call for assistance if your having trouble moving. I was entertained about have red, yellow, and red bracelets, our nursery colors!
