What activities have you been up to? Monday I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and lower body weights. Tuesday I ran for about 30 min and did upper body weights. Missed Wednesday. Today, a 60 minute HIIT class. Tomorrow I plan to do spin and cx works.
What are your goals for the next week? To work out at least 5 days and make better food choices than I have this week.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? An apple with a tbsp of almond butter, dried apricots or cottage cheese with pineapple.
What activities have you been up to? Since getting a Fitbit last weekend, I've been obsessively keeping track of my steps. I'm competing against my husband, who seems to always have double my amount. I think he's cheating...
What are your goals for the next week? I'd like to actually get my 10,000 steps in each day. It's so freakin' hot outside I don't want the baby to have to sweat it out with me, so I need to find a way to get those extra steps!
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Fruit! Probably not good on the sugars, but better than cookies, amirite?

What activities have you been up to? When it isn't 120 degrees outside, I try to walk everyday fast enough and long enough to break a healthy sweat.
What are your goals for the next week? Trying to solidify DD's nap schedule in her crib so I can begin getting on the rowing machine again. I'm also looking to continue my healthy-ish eating and NO SNACKING. I'm also trying to cut alcohol down to 3 days a week (don't judge I love wine and beer).
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Lol. NO SNACKING. Healthy or not, snacking is like falling down the rabbit hole for me. I've learned I just cannot snack. It was hard the first 5 days...but I stuck to it and now I'm ok with just eating meals.
What activities have you been up to? -Mostly going for long walks and sometimes hitting up the gym to elliptical/bike/jog on the treadmill.
What are your goals for the next week? -Less carby-snacking. I think my meals are pretty healthy but I eat way too many chips and pretzels. Keep moving.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? -Smoothies/kind bars/watermelon
mrsclark731, Wow to the no snacking! My mom always gives up snacking for Lent and I know I just couldn't do it, not even temporarily.
What do you guys eat for lunch? That's usually my worst meal.
I'll either do leftovers from the previous night's dinner, or if we're grilling that week, I'll ask my husband to throw on extra hamburger patties/chicken on the grill, or I'll get some veggies and Boar's Head deli meat and make sandwiches/salads with it. My big issue used to be going out to eat if I was out running errands during the day but LO's dairy/soy allergy makes that pretty difficult these days.

What activities have you been up to? Treadmill sometimes, mostly taking LO on walks around the neighborhood which is actually more intense than it sounds thanks to living on a mountain. I also weight lift occasionally.
What are your goals for the next week? Hopefully get below the 120 mark. 120 was my goal for my wedding, but now that I'm here I'm interested to see if I could lose a little more.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Fruit, Think Thin bars (not really that healthy... but 20grams of protein!) yogurt
What activities have you been up to? Just walks with little one. If hot, we do the mall to be in ac. Otherwise we go around our neighborhood or the zoo.
What are your goals for the next week? Start more intense exercise. I'd like to run more again.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Hmm...right now I'd say oatmeal. When not bfing, I would say a tomato with a little olive oil. Dd doesn't do well with tomatoes though
What activities have you been up to? Big fat nothing.
What are your goals for the next week? To stop making tons of plans and be at home so I can walk most days. I also want to start doing workout videos. I'm going to shoot for 5 days.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Banana with peanut butter, cheese stick, Greek yogurt, almonds
emilyz320 making plans that I am gone everyday is my problem too. I need to commit to being "free" more.
mumomma13 if I am at home I do a lot of cheese, cracker and hard boiled eggs or a salad. I keep a bag of lettuce in my fridge, and some unsalted cashews in the cupboard at all times then just add in some cottage cheese, any veg (cukes, peppers), and dressing I have on hand.
Is anyone actively trying to lose weight while breastfeeding? I'm so hungry all the time. Just looking for tips and/or someone to be miserable with. Kidding...kind of.
Me! Not sure if it's breastfeeding or the birth control but my hormones are a mess and my weight just wont budge. I swear I'm not being a slacker and just making excuses. My diet and exercise are pretty good. I just cant lose the weight. I don't really have a ton to lose. I'm hoping it will come off easier once I wean. Still fighting the good fight I the meantime, though.
Good idea! I also need accountability! What activities have you been up to? Daily walks with DD and the dog; a run here and there; squats, lunges, and an work while watching Bravo on Demand.
What are your goals for the next week? I want to do 2-3 runs a week. I always feel better during/ after, and it's nice to clear my mind. I ran with the (used) Bob yesterday and it went pretty well, so I'm running out of excuses (except the weather)! I also want to continue toning exercises and really work on portion control and eating healthier things (no fast food!)
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? I like almonds, Apple with peanut butter, string cheese... basically I need protein with my snack, I've realized, or I gorge on empty carbs.

What activities have you been up to? I went for a bike ride to see if check the condition of my bike that I hadn't ridden in a year in preparation for a adventure race this weekend that I'd done zero training for. I fell trying to get on my bike and tired riding for 15 minutes. So I'm not doing the race.
I miss doing Mom & Baby Yoga and my post-natal pilates classes, but I've been back at work for 2 months and those are only during working hours. Nothing for working moms.
What are your goals for the next week? I'm cutting down on eating bad cookies and chocolate (bad cookie as in not a lactation cookie since those are the only ones I can justify to myself). Also if LO keeps up this 5:30am wake for the day thing he's into now, I'm going to start up 30 Day Shred again in the morning. He can play on his mat and I can work out instead of checking email and working in the morning.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Fruit with peanut butter or greek yogurt
What activities have you been up to? I've been making it to the gym 2-3 times per week doing a mix of cardio (running or biking) and lifting. Also trying to get some type of exersize in on the weekend, like walking.
What are your goals for the next week? Make it 3 x to the gym. Run 1.5 miles one of the times. Add in a core yoga workout one day.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Raw veggies. I bring a bunch to work and snack on them all day. Sadly that doesn't always prevent me from eating junk around the office.
Is anyone actively trying to lose weight while breastfeeding? I'm so hungry all the time. Just looking for tips and/or someone to be miserable with. Kidding...kind of.
I'm actively trying to stop gaining weight back! I was down to 25 from pre-pregnancy weight then went back to work. Since then I went up 5-10 pounds so I'm back at about 30 or so to pre-pregnancy weight. grrrrr
What do you guys eat for lunch? That's usually my worst meal.
I keep frozen veggie burgers on hand to microwave real quick on wheat bread. I'm also a fan of frozen veggies or any kind of leftovers we have from dinner.

Breastfeeding and hunger is no joke. Now that I've weaned my hunger has gone down a lot. No advice just empathy. More protein maybe? I find if I get a really good amount of protein for breakfast and lunch it helps me the rest of the day.
What activities have you been up to? Being fat, gaining weight. UGH. Occasional walks to DD in the stroller. It seems like it starting to cool down a little so I'd like to keep that up. Plus she loves being outside.
What are your goals for the next week? Limit my snacking, continue to pack lunch
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Hummus and anything.
mumomma13- I made these Mason Jar salads on Sunday which were easy and tasted good all week. Check out Organizeyourselfskinny.com for some ideas!

What activities have you been up to? The only real exercise I've been getting lately is from the walking parts of my commute. Walked to the train this morning, which is about a mile.
What are your goals for the next week? I'd really like to get back to running, but its just too hot and humid and don't have the time. I guess I could try going early one morning this weekend.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? Yogurt with some granola mixed in.
This MOTN snacking situation probably isn't helping and I think it's contributing to the bleh feeling I get when I wake up. I need to lock up the pantry at night or something, ha.
On the positive front, I've gone on 3 two hour walks with local moms this week. It's been really nice and I feel good on multiple levels after! It's nice to get adult interaction and exercise all in one.
What activities have you been up to? I played softball for the first time in 7 weeks on Wednesday. I haven't really been able to play much because game times don't usually work out well with LO. I actually played really well and it felt good to run the bases. Too bad it was the last game of the season! But, two days later I'm sore, so clearly I'm out of shape!
What are your goals for the next week? Actually do some kind of physical activity at least three times. Hopefully being able to go for a run, do a Jillian Michaels DVD and/or go to zumba. I just want to start some kind of workout schedule for the days I don't go into the office. And on the days I do go into the office, avoid eating candy and treats all day.
GTKY: what's your favorite healthy snack? I like cauliflower or green peppers and dill dip or strawberries.
I have a health food question/concern. I've been hearing a lot about the benefits of coconut oil so I got it. I used it today with my eggs and it was not what I was expecting when I opened it up. So I read on webmd that it's really no better than butter and worse than vegetable oil. So why did I even buy it? Convince me that coconut oil is better to use or give me alternate uses for it (bc let's be honest: butter is a lot tastier and I'd rather use less butter... for the flavor).

I have never used it for cooking but all of the pumping groups suggest using it on your nips for lubrication during pumping etc...
I also read it helped with excema (why I got some) but it didn't work.

Great for hair hydration. I used to do a 24-72 hour olive oil treatment (wash hair with shampoo from root to tip, pour on olive oil, braid, more olive oil, up in a Banana clip for 24 hours/as long as you can stand/until you feel the maximum amount of oil has been absorbed). Now I use coconut oil instead. It's not quite as effective as olive oil but smells a hell of a lot better.
