Second night in a row Jillian didn't want to nurse at 4 am. We tried bringing her to bed and she wanted none of that. She was only happy upright so I put her in the swing, she babbled for awhile and then we all slept until 7. She's getting 2-3 teeth in so that's gotta be what's bothering her. Right?
I'm surprised she'll still go in the swing! T wants no container of any sort - not even his jumper / exersaucer anymore (sad face).
I'm jealous your babies can still use containment devices lol miss thing is exceeding the limits on all so the only place we can use to contain her is her high chair or a baby pen lol

The high chair is the only thing I have left to contain LO. Luckily she loves sitting in it (and eating).
So LO decided to boycott formula today. She refused to drink any until just before bed when she fussed through ~2 oz. Instead she preferred her sippy of water - refused sippy of formula - and ate solids like a horse. Has snyone else's LO just randomly did this? She peed normally probably bc all the water.
Yay! lincbeesmom so glad he took a nap....Naps have recently been such a struggle! Today G refused a morning nap:/. Therefore I was completely unproductive today!
lincbeesmom congrats on the nap! I have done the side nurse to sleep, sneak away maneuver many times . Hopefully that's the start of a new trend for you.
So, we had an OT appointment at the Children's hospital for Owen today to look at his head and do a general assessment. They decided to fit him for a little helmet and to set up some therapy to help with his gross motor skills. I kind of feel like his PCP may have waited a little long to refer us for this, so I'm glad he's finally going to get the extra help I thought he might need.
Today I went to a horrid doctor who said that there was NO way Ethan could suddenly develop a rash because of the milk if he had been having milk based formula/BM since birth. (I called my pedi's office- they disagree and suggested I wait two weeks and replace his normal meal times with milk, water at all other times- if he develops the rash again.. use almond or soy)
They had a biohazard bag on the floor where Ethan could get it.. it was kinda awful.
Then I packed up my car and hightailed it here- found out my water wasn't on. Found out that MH did not set it up. Had to rush to do that. In the process James knocked Ethan's stroller over- Right as I was writing my deposit check. Therefore I wrote the check wrong- forgot my lease. Had to run back get both and thank god there was a sympathetic older lady who said "bless your heart" (the pitty one) about 50 million times. I only like her because my water is on.
I had James and Ethan in their room (with a baby gate on the door) playing so I could unpack a bit and start my list of things needed. I go to get the kids clothes out and new diapers and all of a sudden I hear "Ethan no, Ethan no! Ethan not the stairs" and then the sound of a 25 lb 11 month old rolling down the entire flight of stairs. Cue tears and me being irrationally mad at James. James was trying to stop him (from what little I saw). Cue emergency order of new gates.
Water comes on I find out the water line to a toilet is leaking. I have to call the guy who was just here to replace my back door so he can fix it. Then I start making a list of everything I *have* to have that if I buy Its not going to be riddic for me to have two of. Run to target, get lost, find the WRONG target (I was looking for the fancy super target) said fuck it. Did my shopping, Had JUST enough cash to cover it (I could have wrote a check or used credit but I was trying to stay to a budget)
At target find out that they are out of outlet covers. I'm sure between VT and MIL's house I have enough but I dont want to track them down. BUY EVERYTHING ON MY LIST except coffee and coffee maker. I'm doomed.
@notyourmom that sounds like an awful day. How is Ethan after his tumble? I hope things turn around for you soon. Good luck and I hope you can find coffee ASAP tomorrow!

Hosting a Super Bowl party this weekend. I have a bunch of chili from a couple weeks ago in my deep freezer. Tastes fine. Would it be weird to throw it in my crock pot and serve it Sunday?

I'm reading the book for the Parenting book club...except I've read way too far ahead & I can't stop. Pretty sure I'll have finished the book before our first convo about it. Ooops. I'm bad at book clubs.

I've been eating strawberry cupcakes all day. Left over from DS1 birthday yesterday. Made with fresh strawberries, so good! It's like chips, I can't have just one!

Quick random bitch
DS1 has been having so issues getting over stimulated really easy in specific situations. He doesn't like crowds the bigger the crowd the bigger reaction. Anyway we enrolled him in preschool, tried it out for a month. 80% of the mornings it was a fight to get him dressed and out the door. He would tell him he didn't want to go, kids were scary, too many of them, they act crazy. A few times he literally hid under a table a cried when I got him there. So this among some other things were brought up to his pedi, pedi says while there are no red flags he has some areas of concern. Suggests we see a developmental pediatrician. Make an appointment for 6 months out bc that's their wait.
So fast forward a month or so and a friend going through similar suggested contacting the school district for additional help. So I did. He gets eval next week.
I can't get H on board. He thinks DS1 is just manipulating us. But says if I feel there is something to worry about then we'll get him checked out.
So instead of just worrying that the district not wanting to help us out, I have to worry that H will stay stuck in denial that anything is going on.
disneyaddict1 sorry about that. . . My kid cries like that for haircuts. . . And dropped suckers. But seriously- have him evaled even if there is no diagnosis you will feel better.
Ugh, the customer service personnel for my insurance company are terrible. I spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out if insurance covered a helmet for Owen and what possible providers might be in our area. Thankfully the person who answered the phone at one of the clinics was very helpful.
It took me four hours to finish typing that. The kids were just insane tonight. Time for a glass of wine. Maybe two.
