High: quite a few great moments on vacation, but I think the best one was taking the kids down to the beach for the very first time at sunset. The lake was beautiful and it's a memory I will love forever.
Low: Amelia had a meltdown on a boat ride we went on on Monday (it was dangerously close to naptime). We finally got everyone loaded back into the car and MIL announces that she has to use the restroom. Since she apparently couldn't wait 10 minutes to get back to the condo, we had to drive around the block with DD screaming while she went in. I mean, MIL couldn't hold it for a few more in lieu of making her granddaughter scream inconsolably? I'm still bewildered by it.
High: dh spending more time with dd this week than he has lately.
Low: me and dd got eaten alive while she was in her little pool because I forgot to put bug spray on us. I feel bad everytime I look at the bites on her
High has been LO starting to really learn signs. The best part is, she combines them (will sign more, then put one of the more hands in her mouth, or same with milk). I love that she's communicating.
Low is sleep last Friday night. We drove from 4:30-11 (including stops), and she slept from about 8:30 until we arrived. She wouldn't go to sleep once we got to our friends', and we couldn't CIO because it was the middle of the night and we're not mean. She didn't go to sleep until 3 am. Including me driving around the block for an hour. She was tired enough to STTN both Saturday and Sunday before we came home, though.
ETA: CIO would have been mean to our friends, we do it to our baby regularly.
So many lows this week - you all know the most obvious. Others today: my garage door broke this morning, of course whilst my car was inside and DH is gone, so I had to have a co-worker come pick me and DD up and take us to the sitters and work. While hauling all the stuff into her car, my brand new iphone fell out of my pocket and the worthless case did nothing to protect it and the screen shattered. FFS. DD is also becoming a lemur baby, which I hope is due to her recent imms and is only temporary, because I love that she doesn't have to be held constantly and doesn't have an attitude (which she's had a touch of this week). Please tell me it's not impending toddlerdom.
High - Since DH has been gone all week, it's been pretty easy to keep the house clean. lol

Highs: We have a new baby in the family! DHs cousin and his wife had a little squish and we can't wait to meet her. I also took DS to the zoo and tonight we re meeting friends at a minor league baseball game.
Lows: we don't get to meet the newest addition until labor day weekend probably. DH got into a huge fight with MIL when he found out she was going today to see them (they live much closer than we do) and was planning on taking our niece who is only 18 months without asking the new parents. It made us both ragey for his cousin since they are still in the hospital.

They might not let her in because she doesn't have all of her shots. I know when my sister had my niece I couldn't bring C in because she hasn't had all of her shots. They allow siblings as a special exception though.

Wah for bug bites!! My yard is the worst! We had our 1 yr check up today and the doctor said to spray the adult bug spray (with deet) in my hand and then just put it on the tips of her hair and on her shoes and it works well to keep bugs away. Something to try?
High: found an apartment, and my friend was here yesterday visiting with her daughter. Low: the stress of getting things ready and sorted.
So glad you found a place! How do you think you'll like it?
I think it's going to be nice, we're really excited. The bedrooms and closets are bigger than in our house, plus we'll finally have central a/c and a dishwasher. And it's 8min from DH's new work.

High: It seems like Q has gotten so much more personality this week and it has been really fun to watch. He goes through all the words he knows every night before bed like he's trying to remember them for the next day. It is so cute!
Low: We've all been sick. No fun dealing with a fussy baby and fussy husband.
