How many of you are dealing with a toddler? They are a handful, right? Sometimes its hard for me to keep my anger in check (I've always had problems with anger management). My DD is usually really chill and laid back, about 85% of the time, which is pretty great for me. I totally lucked out. But DD is now in the Terrible Two's and recently started "pushing the boundaries". The worst was yesterday, we were at a restaurant and she started hitting me and slapping me in the face, knocking off my glasses a few times (they're pretty loose, I need new ones but can't afford them. They're very easily knocked off with little force). Makes me really REALLY happy for bed time.
Also, I'm a little nerdy and keep up with all the meteor showers throughout the year. The Perseid Meteor shower is happening now (started around July 17, peak should be August 7 & 8), and I was thinking maybe for those of you who live in an area that isn't too light-polluted, you could look up and watch the sky. My dad's house (where I live) is in a relatively ok spot to stargaze (backyard is up against a busy road, so I got some light pollution out back). If you can go outside and watch, I highly recommend it (with bug spray!). There won't be too much activity but the fresh air and beauty of the night sky is more than worth it. If you have kids that are a little older, maybe even take them out with you, because learning about meteors and stars is really just kind of cool. Could be a bit of a bonding thing If you can go outside, and if you go outside alone, remember to take deep breaths. Breathe in the night air, and remember that you are as beautiful as the night sky.
For those of you who can't go outside, maybe sit near an open window. Deep breaths, the night air is so wonderful for relaxation. And remember, YOU ARE AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE NIGHT SKY!
