We did two hikes, the first just under 2 miles up and the second almost three miles plus tennis for hours this weekend! I'm off to a good start. Just did a two mile walk/run and it was almost 50/50 (for me that's kind of huge!)
I have been eating fairly healthy but this morning had a scone with my egg breakfast but overall no sugary sweets or anything unhealthy. All the working out left no time to even eat actually!
What are your goals this week? I'm hoping to get some more running in this week. Training session tomorrow. h is going away tomorrow too, so solo parenting and eating. Hopefully I don't have too much junk to offset this lol
My goal is to eat clean Monday - Friday. I've got a couple of challenges ahead: h traveling tomorrow and a team outing on Wednesday. I've budgeted for two drinks on Wednesday. Hoping the booze doesn't mean I'm going to fall face first into a bag of chips.
I've prepped with some raw veg salads. Tomorrow during wfh day I'm going to cook up some proteins. I know it's all about being prepared. I'm averaging about 10,000 steps a day (garmin version of the Fitbit) so I'm going to push to 11,000 average this week. Food and walking to start, move up to more exercise.
I completed my goals for last week! Getting the exercise in was no issue, but the no sweets was SO HARD! I think one during the week and one on the weekend would make me feel a good balance. Still waaay fewer sweets than I was having! For this week, I could use some help generating ideas for nutritious calorie-dense foods. I've noticed that when it comes to the end of the day and I need to eat more to make my daily goal, I end up choosing fast food. Not the best. Exercise goal is to stick to running T/Th/Sa/Su, with a day of yoga and a day of strength training. Tonight, though, I'm sitting on my booty for the bachelorette.
I wound up going for a second walk with my bro and his gf. He was acting funny on the walk and kept putting his hand in his pocket and taking us off the path to get closer to the water?? I totally thought he was going to propose but didn't lol. Maybe he chickened out??
Do you like salmon zengal? I find it's super filling. I'm trying to think of some of my go to dinners that are calorie dense but healthy and am drawing mega blanks.
Though salmon is definitely a staple here. We just have HUGE portions of salads with some different textures and proteins/fats olives, chickpeas, artichoke hearts, seeds, etc. Really bulk it up. I find I barely can finish and feel full.
Hey healthy ladies! I did pretty well last week, still been doing the shred DVD although I only got 4 days in when I was shooting for 5.
I didn't eat too badly but nothing like zengal! I may just need to try your limited sweets thing...I'm too much of a fan of the oreos!
Question for those of you who are nursing and watching calories...I was going to try to use MFP but don't know if I should put in I want to loose weight or stay the same...just thinking about the 500 or so extra calories I need for nursing
Yes kfaye I use MFP and made my goal to maintain, and then I add 500 to what it says I need to eat. And then, to make sure supply isn't affected, I add even more calories to make up for most of what I burn exercising. That part is always tricky because how much do you really burn- MFP is never the same as Nike plus!
I've been doing ok. The weekdays are always easier since the day is more structured. I have been tracking my calories on MFP and staying close to my goal most days. Yesterday was one of those days where I was constantly hungry and craving sweets. I ended up eating 3 Special K brownies. They are 80 calories each but really tiny. I was afraid to log all my calories since I was sure I went over by a lot, but at the end of the day it wasn't too bad.
Yesterday I lifted weights for the first time in a long time. I am not as sore today as I thought I would be. Exercise is a bit more of a challenge this week with DH out of town. A couple nights a week he picks up LO and I can get in a run - not this week. This weekend is going to be a challenge in terms of diet. We have plans to go out for tapas with some friends that are visiting. We are also hosting a party so lots of food plus lots of leftovers.
zengal, I don't have a lot of high calorie/healthy meal suggestions, but you could always snack heavier during the day (nuts, greek yogurt, peanut butter) on days you know you're having a really light dinner. When I was running regularly and eating clean I'd finish almost every run day with a greek yogurt parfait type thing to get the calories back up.
So, since I didn't have any sweets at all this weekend and allotted for it, I went out for ice cream last night. Got a kid's size. BUT the portion is really big even at kid's size. As in, like 3 kids could split that. It was worth it, though.
We have a heat wave going on. I don't think any runs will be happening. Hoping to get to the gym tomorrow. Working tonight, so won't have time to get a full workout in.

Has anyone ever heard of bikini body mommy? I'm thinking about starting this program. I have a friend that is having great success with it. Hopefully I can talk my sister into doing it with me. I need an accountability partner.
I bought 7 grain bread from the bakery on my road, toasted it, added a half of an avocado, spinach and an egg. Had that at 7 am. Still going at 1 pm without any snacks. Nice and healthy, super quick to make, and filling.
I need to find the energy to get to the gym today. I'm just so nervous to use the gym babysitting. I'm sure Liam would have fun. he's so laid back. An hour wouldn't be so bad.
Please tell me that I am foolish and I should just do it!
I chickened out again. Grrr. Then it was the gap between the shifts (only morning and then after work times) and now I don't have time. But since it is 85 degrees INSIDE my living room I cleaned and scrubbed the floors and feel decently sweaty. Walk after this child's third nap because he has been sleeping so crappy
I woke up at 4:25am just so I could run this morning, and then un-did the good when I fell off the sweets wagon. I said I was going to have a donut, but they brought in gourmet cupcakes to work... So I had two (!) of those. I've gone over my week quota. I'll try to make up for it by having none this weekend.
I had Chinese food for dinner. My brother was having a day so we decided to have comfort food and that's his fave. I ate SO WELL and I know that one meal doesn't ruin everything but damn I was on a roll. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day. zengal I feel ya. No sweets this weekend and then that way you're still at the same sweets amount.
