LO is growing out of the whole "Wow, my legs can move! I must never sit still again!" phase. So that means he now wants to cuddle more and bring mommy book after book to read. I am a big book person and hated when he never wanted to sit still for more than a minute to be read to, so I am very happy he enjoys it again.
Least favorite:
The defiant stage! LO definitely has a will of his own and exercises it as much as possible. "No" seems to be one of his favorite words some days. And I worry about him being spoiled--he acts like the seagulls from Finding Nemo a lot ("Mine! Mine! Mine!") and it is hard to teach him that not everything is his. Any suggestions? So far, we have just been telling him when he cannot have something and then putting it out of sight if need be in the hopes he will forget about it. I don't know how effective that is, though.

Favorite: Random kisses. Starting to pretend play. Recognizing and loving on his grandparents. Giggle fits over things I also find hilarious. How he still has some squishy baby fat and will let me rock him at night.
Least favorite: Frustrated because I can't understand him. Desire for independence keeping us from doing fun things because he just wants to run free.

Favorite: she's still super cuddly and calls me mommy ALL day, loves to run around with her brother and explore Least favorite: wildly inconsistent sleep, still working on communication, and calls me mommy ALL day (I'm kidding on the last one, I love it, but some days I want to change my name!!)

I love how quickly she learns new things and it blows my mind. I love just sitting and observing her sometimes.
However I'm over the meltdowns. There are some days I just can't handle it because it's non stop from sun up until sun down unless I put a binky in her mouth a snack in her hands and sprout on TV

+1 to a lot of what has already been said.
LO made DH a "dinner" out of a koosh ball and some yarn scraps that were "cooked" in a pot the night before last. I about died from cute.
So I would say the pretend play is a big winner at this age. Also his eagerness to "tell" stories and be involved. Which is a double edged sword at times tbh.
And definitely least favorite is the tantrums. It's so difficult that he's able to make himself understood on some matters, but obviously lacks the ability to tell us what's wrong most of the time.
Favorites: the random hugs and kisses, being able to communicate with us better, more independent play time, watching him love on our dog, seeing his excitement over learning new things
Least Favorite: tantrums and meltdowns, watching everything we say (or the people around us) because he's very good at repeating things

+1 to pretty much everything said already. I love that she has so many words and it is so fun to see her play and explore.
I definitely don't like the defiance she shows at times, but I've definitely noticed that she misbehaves most when she is tired. Therefore, we are really working on being consistent with a schedule all the time. Also, going out to restaurants is just not fun with her anymore because she doesn't want to sit still.
Love: Her spontaneous affection, pretend play with her baby dolls (it's like the playroom is a daycare), seeing her expand her palette and build a sense of humor.
Struggles: Refusals to sit in car seat, stroller, or shopping carts; diaper changing gymnastics; not letting DH do anything for her because she has deemed him incompetent.
Favorite: She's getting more fun and able to move around more. Now I've got to worry she'll fall face first trying to pull up on something. She's still a cuddle bug.
Least Favorite: Diaper changes, whining, lack of communication, inconsistent eating, drinking and sleep.

Favorite-getting to hear mom and getting her kisses. Least favorite-she's always on the move, getting into everything now. And her tantrums are getting better.
Love: being constantly surprised by what he knows and can do. Yesterday, GIL pulled the garlic press out of a drawer and B pointed at it and said "Garick" Seeing him really interact with friends at daycare- hugs and handholding, etc. Hate: wrestling him into the car seat, how cute he is when he raises his eyebrows, smiles, and naked eye contact before doing something he knows he isn't supposed to.
