Long Cycle Question- re O date and Period

Good morning,

I've been really confused with my current cycle and now dont know if I belonged in WTO, TWW or WTDS. I was hoping to bounce this off you ladies and see what you think or what you would do.

Currently on CD48, 16DPO. FF seems to have calculated my ovulation date mostly based on my positive opk. When I remove that test, it takes my CH's away. It was a wondof opk and now I have been second guesses if it was actually dark enough to be positive- i usually back it up with a digital but I ran out. I've had no pre or post ovulation symptoms this time around. 

Would you take the positive opk out since the temp shift doesnt seem like it truly happened? 

As for my period, I've been spotting since 10DPO-15 DPO, color started resembling a true period on 13 DPO and has now pretty much stopped all together. 

Would you count this as a light period and start a new cycle or should I wait until I actually get a true flow?

Based on your temps alone, I don't think you O'ed. I've had cycles with multiple +OPKs and FF would eventually get my CH right when my temperature spiked high enough over the last positive. Do you generally stop using them after a positive, because I would suggest you continue to use them until your spikes otherwise you run the risk of having multiple surges and missing the one that actually lines up with your O all together, especially with longer cycles.

Did your spotting require a pad or tampon? Was there ever any actual flow, or just spotting?

@cbf2013, thanks for the feedback! . I've tested for a couple days after and they got really negative. Spotting was very light, only needed a liner. Tmi...only appeared when I wiped.

I don't think you've ovulated yet based off that chart. There is no temp shift.

Sounds like just spotting to me. I honestly don't think you ovulated. But I'm no expert so hopefully someone else will chime in.

I'm sorry this is a confusing cycle. Your last chart was quite lovely and had a nice shift. I just don't see it here.

That doesn't mean we're right, but I think still temping and returning to OPKs is a good idea for now.

Do you normally have long cycles?

Thanks so much ...I know, I was expecting a nice chart again, but our bodies are just so complicated! I appreciate the advice, I was thinking it must be that but with the ch's and spotting I just wasn't sure. I usually have cd35ish cycles so this one seems the longest to date. I really hope this isn't my new normal.

Are you just off birth control?  Have you recently started charting?

joy...no, I'm not on bc now. I've been off it for about 6 years. Tracked just calendar days before TTC then started temping and charting on FF in April 2015 our first month trying. So pretty new to temping.

Hmmm.  If you were just coming off birth control (like, two months ago) then cycle varying wouldn't be too strange. 

But, since you aren't and this cycle is just kind of out there, I'm less likely to believe that this is your "new normal" so much as it's just an off cycle.  Annoying, certainly, but anyone can have an anomalous cycle.

If you go much beyond CD60 without confirmed ovulation, you might call your doctor to end this cycle (a la Provera).  Definitely call by CD90.  I also would take a pregnancy test before agreeing to end your cycle.  Your doctor will do this, too, before agreeing to let you take Provera.

Good luck.  Sorry your second cycle was such a mess.  The good news is that temping/charting gets easier the more you do it!

joy Thank you so much for the advice and chart stalk. I feel much better about what's going on now. I will set up a Dr. Apps for when I'm passed CD 60 and see about ending this if it lasts that long. Thanks again!
