Stringy Tell me more about the slow cooker spaghetti squash please.
Last night was quesadillas, green beans, and apples. Tonight is tostadas with salsa chicken from the crock pot. Wednesday and Thursday, black eyed peas and ham frozen from new year's, with cabbage. Friday? No clue. I have leftover veggie soup for lunches this week.
It's so easy. Cut it in half the long way. Put them in the slow cooker. Top with what you want. For me a few cans of tomatoes, some mushrooms, maybe an onion and Italian seasoning or something similar. Leave it be for at least half the day and it magically becomes spaghetti. We usually just each take a half and eat it right out of the skin.
Notifications are stupid too. I never notice and the clear too easily. So if I ignore something just try harder :-)
So the squash itself "disintegrates" into spaghetti size pieces? Do you add any liquid? This sounds delish.

On high? Do you need a certain amount of liquid in there or can you really put anything on top?

Ok I have not tried it with other things to be honest. Tomatoes are juicy so you may need something like that. And it doesn't disintegrate into spaghetti but if you put a fork to it and pull it around it becomes it very fast.
For those of you that are cooking with venison I could use some recipes!! I have some meat in burger form but have never cooked much with the steak or loin cuts. Care to share?
Also I suck at planning ahead but here's what I did last night and it was a hit. Lemon pepper chicken, broccoli and cheese, baby potatoes, and cheese toast.
This week I don't have much planned because we leave Thursday morning. Tonight will be sautéed shrimp with black beans and rice, tomorrow probably pizza or BBQ pulled pork, and Wednesday chicken with beans and a veggie.

If it's ground, we use it just like beef. For steaks and chops we do stir fry, stroganoff, kabobs, and stew. I think a big thing with venison is to not over cook it. so with stir fry we lightly brown the meat then add the veggies, by the time the veggies are ready the meat is cooked to medium/medium well. For stroganoff I use beef broth, mushrooms, sour cream, and random spices and bake it for 2 hrs, then add the noodles in and bake until they are done.

I like to cook venison stew meat in the Dutch oven with onion soup mix, water, Worcestershire for a few hours on 200 degrees. Then you can do lots with it, and it makes a yummy chili.
Or should I get my shit together and sautee cabbage tonight to go with the frozen black eyed peas and ham like I planned to do?
No one has suggested that I get my shit together.
I saw a cabbage recipe where you slice it into rounds, rub raw garlic on it, add olive oil and S&P and bake it. I thought that looked pretty good. If you're looking for cabbage inspiration, that is

I was going to actually cook something but I'm now thinking of boiling some noodles and heating up pasta sauce. I don't want to guilt you into being productive when I'm barely cooking.

Did I write that recipe? Because that's how MH usually makes it. But to go with the black eyed peas, I prefer sauteed.
My week is falling apart. Last night was spaghetti, boil noodle, warm sauce. I think I am going to order a pizza tonight from our local pizzeria that makes everything from scratch. The boys have been needy and my pregnant body hurts all over. Hopefully tomorrow I will get my act together in the morning and put something in the crockpot.
It's almost 6 and I'm still planning on making chicken parm...I'm waiting on DH to call and let me know he is on his way home from plowing his sisters mile long driveway.......I'm hungry!!!!!! Stupid snow....
