So I just got home. We drove up to my in laws yesterday. MW, kids, and dogs are staying for the week and I'll fly back next weekend to spend a bit of time with everyone. Very short trip (6 hour drive and then fly back within 24 hours) just to drop them and the car off, but she and the kiddos will enjoy the week.
I'm sort of looking forward to this week. I'll get some much needed sleep and get into a workout routine, but more so because I'll have time to get the house cleaned from top to bottom and the garage finally organized so she can pull her car in out of the snow. With luck my office will be closed Tuesday and there will be early release tomorrow so that will give me plenty of time. MW is always less stressed when the place isn't a disaster, so the least I can do is press the reset button over the next week.
One major plus was we had a chance to grab brunch just the two of us before my flight. We half joked that it was like a first date all over again. It's been a while since we've been out just the two of us. And, since I'm corny as all get out, I let her know I would be back in town for a few days next weekend if she wanted to get together...she said she'd love too. Lol! Can't wait for a second date, seeing my kiddos, and playing with my nieces and nephews.

This weekend we remembered and celebrated our daughter who came pre-maturely and passed at birth in 2012. We visited her cemetery plot and left some flowers. We met up with my in laws and some friends and had some cake and ice cream in her honor. On Sunday we met with an old friend and went out for a late lunch. I carried (wore) my son in his ergo carrier. He loved it and I did too! It was a nice way to bond with him as opposed to having him in the stroller.
Aside from that I did a little bit of running and watched some basketball here and there.
Sorry for your loss, man. Glad to hear you all were able to get together and honor her. Im sure it's nice to have that kind of support. And I'm sure that run and time with your son was as cathartic as anything.
Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. This amazing stranger from the planet Krypton. The Man of Steel, Superman!
I went skating with my neice and nephew a lot this last weekend of Jan to feb. I was never a big ice skater but they love it, but my back doesn't.
It sounds like you took one for the team! I had a nice 3 Day weekend from (Sat, Sun, Mon) and on Saturday I was solo with my 2 month old for 5 hours while my wife was out. Longest I have been alone with him since he was born but it was a great bonding experience! Went for a long walk with him to split up the time!
