I'm from D14 but my twins were born mid-nov. I thought I'd put this here too as there are more 2 month olds here.
Is anyone into a routine yet? I can't remember what we did with DD, but it seems my 2 month old twins are down to essentially 3 naps a day. The first is about an hour after they get up, the second is around 11 or 12 for 2-3 hours, and then they have another around 4 pm, and then they're up from 5-8 pm or a bit later like 9 pm if they happen to have a fourth nap around 7. Does this sound about right? They could really use some more nap in the evening as they're pretty fussy but it's just not happening. I'm also trying to remember when DD started going to bed earlier (like 6 or 7). Maybe it was around this same time when they aren't napping in the evening. The problem with that is trying to have supper and get DD to bed by 8 pm. It was nice when the babies went to bed after her in a way because we weren't trying to get 3 ready for bed at the same time.
DS is still all over the place. For the most part he goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:30 and gets up between 6:30 and 7, but naps are not predictable at all. Sometimes he goes down for two hours, sometimes for twenty minutes, and I can't figure out what makes the difference.

Mine takes a good nap from 10-noon then another from 2-3 and another at 7 before going down for the night around 10. She worked this out on her own. We cluster feed after 4 pm which I think helps us get some longer stretches at night. She might take some surprise 20 minute naps in between those times.
Good luck getting your twins to fit your schedule.
My LO is 11 weeks and doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason to his naps. The only nap that seems to be guaranteed is his morning nap, which usually happens 1-2 hours after he wakes up for the day and is his longest nap of the day. After that he naps about 3 or 4 more times, anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. He starts daycare this week so I'm sure everything will completely change.
Good luck getting your twins to fit your schedule.
I'm sensing some snark here. They worked this routine out themselves, hence the " " around schedule, because we all know you can't really schedule infants (with the exception of me trying to get them to eat/sleep at approximately the same times). I'm just trying to get a sense of whether their routine is normal, if they're getting enought sleep and when they might start going to bed earlier.

jessa1228 Henry is almost on the same as yours. his longest is is first nap 1-2hrs, and then 3 naps ranging 15min-and hour (one rare occasions I get 2hrs). He's pretty much set himself up on his own, we follow his patterns and have adjusted ourselves. however, I go back to work this week so we'll see how it goes. he's usually up at 8am anyway, but that'll be the time I get him up from now on bc of work, so I'm hoping it stays as is. I do still sometimes have to put him to sleep, re: rocking, holding, singing, etc. he gets sleepy but doesn't always commit without some help.
I think they just kind of get on their own routines to an extent. each baby is going to be different, and want more or less some days. We have a friend who's daughter is 17w, she sleep 12hrs through the night, and then typically naps only 30min total during the day.
I have a "bad sleeper" so I have to make sure he sleeps every 1.5-2 hours during the day or its hell to pay. Usually he gets between .5 to 1 hour each time. He also takes a 1 hour nap after his initial "wake up", and sometimes up to 2 hours between 5-8 pm. He refuses to nap anywhere but on me or my husband so we've been working on that. He does go to bed like clockwork at 11 pm so I can't complain.
Like pp said, babies are all different. I don't forsee my LO going to bed earlier anytime soon. (He is 12 weeks)
I have a 9 wo who keeps me guessing daily as far as when she'll nap. I feel like she still sleeps a lot. The past couple days she's been taking 3-hour naps and I don't know if that's left over from her shots or what. Most days she takes several catnaps, a few brief naps, and one or two longer naps. But they might be after she eats, or after some alert time - no telling there. Her one likely long nap is early afternoon. I think you're doing good to have their pattern figured out and I wouldn't worry too much, as you can see from the posts here that there doesn't seem to be a right way to nap!

My LO has no schedule yet but I'm noticing patterns. Like she usually starts acting sleeping around 8:45/9:00am so I'm trying to get her down around then. My problem is that she has such a hard time going to sleep during the day if she isn't held. But I got her down at 8:55am this morning in her bassinet and she's still down 30 minutes later so today has been a success! I figure even if she only sleeps for 30 minutes or so in her bassinet it's progress in the right direction. My goal this week is to work on getting her to sleep on her own during the day. I figure baby steps and eventually we'll get there.
The rest of the day is hit of miss. She will take a longer nap around 2:00 and then a short 45 minute nap around 6:30 or 7:00. We have been trying to get her down around 9:15 but often it's closer to 10:00 when she gets down. I read about all these people saying to start trying to get them down closer to 7:00/7:30 but I don't when that is supposed to happen! I dream of the day when she sleeps from 7:00 to 7:00. Now I'm happy if we get 5 hours straight at night I can imagine 12 straight hours.
I can only count on two sleeps for this kid. Night is 1am to 7am. Then for 2-3 hours after the morning feeding. Anything else? She makes the call. Usually snoozing after a bottle.
I posted on 0-3, but my 10 week old LO is all over the place and usually naps on me during the day. I should work on this, but I enjoy the snuggles. I can't imagine how hard twins would be! I think a schedule would be survival! She def takes a morning, afternoon and evening nap, but cat naps a lot still. Also, I believe I remember you from pgal (hard with no avatars here) I didn't realize our babies have the same birthday! 10 weeks today! Congrats!

Hi! I was on Pgal, although less and less as the pg progressed. Congrats on your LO as well!
My DS is 9 weeks. I haven't really been keeping a very detailed record of his sleep and feeding patterns, but I have definitely been noticing some trends. Our day starts around 7am. He usually sleeps most of the morning away and is awake on and off throughout the afternoon. The evening is when he is really awake and usually the most fussy. I put him down for the night around 9pm and he wakes up just a couple times at night because he's hungry.
Some days Gio won't nap at all from 10-11 AM clear til 10-11 Pm. He will end up extremely tired and fussy....but some days he just will not nap. Other days, he will nap almost all day....he is all over the place still. Regardless of his naps, he seems to be sleeping anywhere from 9 pm- midnight clear until 3-6 AM. He has a very rough going to sleep and waking up time, but we have been averaging about 5-6 hour stretches from him at night. Not every night is this great, but I am thankful that it happens when it does.

Davin usually starts the day at 7am I feed him and then he hits the gym! Lol after about 10mins he'll get fussy and take a cat nap. He's usually awake for most of the day only take 45 to 1hr naps. He gets fed ever 4 hours and between 7 to 730pm is bath time and we feed after and he fall asleep about 8pm sometimes 9pm depending on what we did that day. He only wakes up one time at night usually at 4am than wakes up at 7am. That's pretty much our schedule at this moment.

We are really close to this. Dd wakes for the day/1st feeding at around 7-8, gets changed, then we "play:" read books, look at things, go in the carrier, use the play gum etc. Then she has her most predictable nap of the day for about 30-60min. After that, it's pretty much eat-play-sleep all day. At her 8/9pm feeding, we do bathtime when she wakes from her previous nap and do pjs, swaddle, nighttime diaper and daddy reads aloud while we nurse. Then daddy gives a little formula supplement from a bottle, and she's down for about 5-6hrs, waking 1 or 2 times to eat quickly...I nurse for one, and she only takes 1 side lol and daddy does the second so I can sleep. Then it starts all over! We just followed her lead and things ended up in a definite pattern.

Yes that's what we do the same follow his lead, so far it's been constant. I'm super happy about that can sleep more lol.
