What activities have you been doing? Walking and going to the gym. In the past week, I've done a spin class, a Body Attack class, and a core class. I also walked around the mall for a couple hours today and didn't get a soft pretzel so that should count for extra.

What are your goals for this week? Clean up my eating. Stick to a weekly grocery list so I don't go to the store hungry mid-week. Do some form of exercise each day. Only go out to eat once this weekend.
GTKY: Aside from your LO(s), what is your biggest accomplishment? Law degree/passing the bar. I also ran a half-marathon a few years ago.

GTKY: Aside from your LO(s), what is your biggest accomplishment? Bachelors degree & getting my environmental specialist license. Going for my Master's in the next year. Not sure if I want to continue the same field... I'm interested in teaching.

Did you meet your goals from last week? Yes and no. Exercise wise, yes. I've done 25 out of 50 miles for my month challenge. Eating wise, kind of. I am real good some days and cheat others.

Also I'm married, have two kids (I know I wasn't supposed to use that), and have owned two houses and I'm 30 years old (DH is 28). We've worked hard for what we have too; nothing was handed to us. We are very blessed!
I have a GRIT strength class tomorrow. I'm scared! I also have the Whole30 book on hold at the library. I'm looking forward to getting some ideas to clean up my diet from it, but I don't know if I can cut the carbs out completely and keep up my energy and milk supply.

I actually *love* stroller walking. I wore my heart rate monitor with and without pushing a stroller with DS inside (of course) and the difference was astounding. I burned twice as many calories pushing a stroller. Granted, I stroller walk up steep hills as my work out, but I couldn't believe that it expended twice as much energy.
What activities have you been doing? Daily walks with DD and the dog, a run with the jogging stroller, squats, lunges and ab work
Did you meet your goals from last week? Not really. I would like to go on three runs a week, but it's hard to motivate myself. Once I'm running or after my run I'm glad, but it's hard to get myself to go. I have cleaned up my eating a little bit, though.
What are your goals for this week? 3 runs, daily walks, less snacking.
GTKY: Aside from your LO(s), what is your biggest accomplishment? This is hard. I think surviving my first year teaching in the inner city. It was way harder than I thought it was going to be, and I almost quit-- MANY TIMES.
@holachica yes, the turnover in the first few years is crazy!!! So many people have horror stories from their first year of teaching (myself included), but I'm glad I'm still at it. Finally feel like I've been hitting my stride the past few years!
What activities have you been doing? Walking. I did make a beginner pilates class and it was super hard for me. I should go back.
Did you meet your goals from last week? No, but did walk a good 10K to, around, and from the zoo this weekend.
What are your goals for this week? Clean up my eating. It's terrible and with DS starting solids I need to be a better role model. Plus that'll help with my weight and energy levels.
GTKY: Aside from your LO(s), what is your biggest accomplishment? I got an engineering PhD in 4 years.
What activities have you been doing? A girl that I went to school with does her own altered version of Tone It Up workouts and menu. She is a single mom of a two year old and is flexible with the menu providing items that have good taste or not completely boring. I need this because I tend to go off the deep end when I cut out everything bad for a while. She has 30 minute workout routines that I try to fit in once a day and if I have time I will do another one.
No goals from last week. This is my first week. I finely feel like I have my life under control and I can take on working out right now with everything else going on.
Goals this week: do at least 5 of her workout routines this week and keep eating clean.
Biggest accomplishment: finishing my masters in economics last fall. Being 7 months pregnant, working all day and pulling all nighters to get my thesis done.

Is that number a typo? I'm asking because 1200 Calories is the minimum any adult should eat and 600 is way too low.
seamonster I have a very slow metabolism. I try to eat 600-800 with some worse days here and there. I've worked my way down to this. But I rarely feel hungry because I eat a lot of veggies and lean protein and have small snacks throughout the day.

Did you meet your goals from last week? Yes! I've motivated myself to walk every morning. I power walk pushing the stroller and break a mean sweat. I've also been disciplined with my no snacking rule. It was H's birthday this week, so I've been a little out of control with the sweets. I'm down about 50lbs so far (yes, I'm the asshole that gained 80lbs).
What are your goals for this week? Continue walking every morning. I want to start to mix in a video at least every other day while DD is napping.
GTKY: Aside from your LO(s), what is your biggest accomplishment? Getting my college degree. I got mixed up with a bad, bad guy and dropped out and lost my scholarships. Thankfully, I got away from the guy, got my shit together, and got a full time job. I went back to school at night until I got re-admitted to the University. I'm also proud of owning over 600k of real estate with H (I'm 31 and he's 33).

mumomma13, I *just* got DD to nap this week. I feel you. I'm still exhausted with a clingy baby. It is hard to motivate myself to shower. You can imagine the motivation needed to work out, plan meals, and cook healthy. I keep on telling myself it gets better or else people wouldn't have more than one kid

mumomma13, lol.. Look at my face! I'm 6 feet tall, and can carry weight. It is a curse! My first OB appointment I was 180. I stopped looking when they weighed me after I saw the nurse go past 250.
What is your LOs birthday? Alanna was born 2/24 and we had a break through this week. Be patient ... Naps and sleep will come!

I understand having a very efficient metabolism, but eating less than 1200 Calories a day means that your body can't get the nutrients it needs to properly function. Eating too few calories also forces your body to become more efficient with the calories it does get. And if you are missing key micronutrients, your body can't use particular oathways. The proportions of macronutrients also matters. The process is far more complex than "Calories in, Calories out."
You may want to consider seeing a nutritionist to develop a plan using your TDEE of what to eat or use a tool like my fitness pal or sparkpeople to give you a caloric intake to get you to your goal weight without exercise. They also give you macronutrient goals to help you get a good balance there.
Your body needs fuel for its processes and restricting that fuel is just going to slow it down more and make it harder to loss weight. Giving it more fuel signals that you aren't starving and it can properly do its job. Eating lots of vegetables is great and adding lean proteins and healthy fats and boosting your caloric intake will help get you where you want to be.
Sorry if this comes off as a lecture. I hate to see anyone unintentionally sabotage their weight loss efforts by going too extreme.

wimcgrathemilyz320, Yay for us surviving the first years teaching in crappy schools... and still staying in the profession. I get why so many people quit teaching but am so happy (most of the time) 7 years later that I've stuck with it.
I still have my moments but I am so glad I stuck with it too! I love those little nuggets! It's ridiculously hard and not many people outside of teaching understand that. I used to come home crying every.single.day. I've been sworn at, had things thrown at me, had a knife pulled on me... And I teach third grade people! But I am an awesome teacher (not to toot my own horn) because of it.
Thanks for those links, @holachica! I'm going to start counting calories soon. I'm exercising and breastfeeding, so I guess eating at or slightly below the second number would work. I'm going to try it! (It's around 2,200 for me--I'll probably aim for 2,000 and see how it goes/how I feel).
