We are supposed to get a mega storm, my parents where we are staying live max 10 mins from hospital in good weather. I have been to the er 3x this week with mast cell attacks this weekend I had two not bad enough to go in but I was thinking if I wake up with symptoms I should go get an IV in the am before the storm so that we don't end up having to call ems. Opinions? I am able to go into l&d to get it.
Rant: Why do people feel its necessary to comment in breastfeeding when I haven't even popped this kid out yet. I was talking to another mother about what classes she was signing her kid up for and she said your gonna be too busy breastfeeding to take LO 1 to class. And she was like of course your gonna breastfeed and I was like actually only if I get milk in the first 10 days or less and only if we deliver normally. Everyone knows I wasn't able to bf. Rar
And then when I told my mother the story she was like well it is cheaper and you don't want to give up before you see what happens. My mother breastfed me for two weeks and then she had 3 other kids all on formula. This is after she bitches at me about how inconvenient it is to deliver at 37 weeks and am I sure I'm not harming the baby.

If they will allow you to get an IV just in case, it sounds like it would be a good idea. That's exactly what I would do. I'm sorry you are having a bad week.
I do not know why people think it is any if their business how you choose to feed your child. Your child will be fed. End of story. I got so sick of having to explain myself every.single.time on why I wasn't BFing. I had to go into the ten minute explanation of our BFing saga each time, when really, it wasn't any if their business. Is my baby hungry? No. Is my baby growing? Yes. Ok, then. That's all that matters. Enough with the mommy guilt. I had enough of that myself over not being able to BF without you reiterating the benefits of breast is best. People just do not know when to keep their mouths shut!
((Hugs)) I've been thinking about you! I hope your body cooperates and this storm isn't as bad as it sounds! I'm sorry you are getting such hard time from your family...grrrrr

Wait..you can't do classes because you'll be BFing? Wah? I dragged my kid everywhere and just BFed whenever he needed it. NBD IMO.
But yeah, I hate how everyone has to comment about BFing. There are so many reasons people can't or have to stop BFing - the pressure makes it so much worse on them. MYOB.
There should just be a general agreement (worldwide) that people are not going to offer suggestions (unless asked) or make comments on anybody else's child rearing. It's so basic. I would never dream of telling somebody "you really should do this instead of that". I don't know the details, I don't know if it's a sore subject, I don't know if they've tried and have been unsuccessful, I don't know if they can afford it, etc. Ugh! It bugs me so much. Sorry for my rant.

Everyone Welcome!
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time right now. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
And while I am a HUGE proponent of BFing, I would never tell anyone how they should parent their child. And I've never had anyone (verbally) judge the way I parent mine. I just can't even imagine. How rude.
