Emmeline had surgery today to place a g-tube (feeding tube) in her stomach. This is now hopefully the last step so we can being her home since she isn't eating enough orally.
She also had a Nissen procedure done for reflux as well. Basically a piece of the stomach at the top is wrapped around the esophagus to help keep food down. They're done with the surgery, it went well, and she's back in the isolation room in the NICU.
She's in a bit of pain, which is hard to see again, but this will be so good for her, and hopefully we can take her home sometime in the next two weeks!

So soon! I'm so excited you will finally have her home with you guys in your new place. I'm sorry she is feeling pain, that makes me blue after all this. Girl can't catch a break.
Is her room all ready? Is everyone in the family chomping at the bit to come over and hold her?

Her room is mostly ready, the walls ate still a bit bare... But that's the same for the while house, which is really odd for me. But hanging pictures and artwork has been the last thing on my mind the last 10 weeks!
Everyone is most certainly excited to see her home. Some relatives (great grandparents and great aunts/uncles) haven't met her yet so they ready to see her in person! We're just all so ready!
Yay, I'm so happy to hear you have a take home date on the horizon!!!! I can't love this post enough! She's a fighter that's for sure. How are you doing?
Glad to hear the procedures went well. Thoughts and prayers for her to have a speedy recovery from today and to be able to come home in a few weeks...she is adorable in the pics you've posted on ig!
bliz1712, I'm doing alright. Having to return to work last week was tough, but I have been working remotely for the most part, which has helped ease me into things.
Its been stressful, but overall I'm still taking it in stride. I'm definitely ready for her to be home and to see my girls together and loving on each other!
Some of the other families I've met here are here for a long haul too, and I know she is not in the worst case, but its still tough.
I sound like a broken record, but I'm so ready to have her home soon!

Yay!! Gtubes are at least very easy to use. And if it means home, that is so exciting! When the girl I did home health for got hers pulled they litterally just pulled it and set a surgery date in like 6 weeks. If it healed on its own (which it did) they would canal the closure.
What a little trooper like her mama! I hope they can get her pain managed well enough for you to bring her home very soon!! Hang in there little lady, you're doing amazing!
