Because it's Monday, and nobody likes Mondays, we share our high and our low:
AW: DS won't stop standing everywhere. I love it & hate it all at the same time:
Rant: I have to somehow fit all my stuff as well as all of DS's stuff in one suitcase to fly out in less than a week. Enough crap to be out for two weeks. And babies need a lot of stuff. I'm struggling.
You're going to need a big suitcase. Good thing baby clothes are pretty small still. If you are going to be close to a washer, I would take only the necessities, wash and wear again. Is your mom going to have diapers, wipes, ready for you? If not, grab all that stuff at the store. travel size baby shampoo, etc.. We had to take everything his summer including towels, sheets, blankets. But since you will be with family, hopefully they will cut that for you.

Rant: Both H and I live and work in KY, so imagine my surprise when I see H's W-2 and it says that he paid into OH taxes... WTF? I asked H if his pay stubs show him paying KY or OH taxes, and he tells me he has never looked at them before. Seriously??? I just can't. Hopefully this was just mistake on his W-2 because I really don't feel like filing returns in 2 states, I don't care if there is reciprocity b/w KY and OH for income taxes or not, it's still a PITA.
Rave: I'm having a great hair day thanks to the Coconut Oil treatment I use to help my seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp.
sstwinklinglites I second what becole said, buy anything you can like diapers, wipes, food pouches once you're in FL. I have no idea how long a can of formula lasts, but if you will go through one in the 2 weeks you're there, I wouldn't bring any, other than what you will need for flying+1 day.
Rant- I have to take my 3 year old to the dentist tomorrow because I can see a cavity on his back tooth. The dentist keeps saying it is small and we should leave it alone, but I can't stand it because it is getting bigger and I am too nervous.
High- it's a snow day so we can stay in our pajamas this morning!

becole - There's a lot we don't have to take: towels, wash cloths, diapers, wipes, Aquaphor; that'll be waiting for us over there. I'm also only taking a weeks worth of clothing for both of us, as we'll do laundry. But I do have to take sheets, blankets, bibs, some small toys, etc. I'm going to stick as much as I can in space saver bags, suck out the air, and hopefully that'll leave ample space in the suitcase. The diaper bag will have to have two days worth of crap, in case we get delayed.
Side Story: When I flew to Miami last year, also in February, I was a day delayed. And the delay happened when we were supposed to land in Miami. There was a furious rain storm (they come out of nowhere and are short lived), and after circling the airport unable to land, we were diverted to St. Petersburg. So many planes had been diverted there that we couldn't land, so now diverted to Tampa. We were on an American Eagle plane, so not your standard yet, so we were given last priority for everything. Once in Tampa, they kept us in the Tarmac for at least two hours before figuring out how to refuel us (that airport is not set up for small planes). Then the crew had timed out of the amount of hours they're allowed to fly for the day, so they de - boarded us... it had been at least five or six hours since we were supposed to land in Miami at this point, on the plane the entire time. I was six months pregnant, & freaking dying at this point. And I was flying alone. All the area hotels were completely booked because of all the diverted flights. They couldn't even get rooms for the crew, who would not be allowed to fly until they had been off plane for like 12 hours or something. The next flight to Miami was at like noon the next day, and no guarantee it would get out because it was overbooked and no crew. I had to get on one of those tiny blue airport shuttles and they drove a group of us the five hours to Miami. I was completely useless by the time I got there. Flight from hell.

becole - Yay for the crawling! DS is finally legit crawling instead of army crawling as well, but has no interest in anything other than pulling up to stand everywhere. I can't catch a break now, have to chase after him everywhere.

Rave: We went to Columbus this weekend and met up with my sis, bro-in-law and nieces. We stayed at a hotel with a heated indoor swimming pool so DD had her first swimming experience. She was SO cute in her little swimsuit. She was unsure of the water at first, but before long was splashing and loving it.
EDIT: Pics added!
Rant: So MIL just posted a status and tagged me on Facebook about some baby headbands. Great, but guess what it said "I'm thinking of our baby girl when I see these cute things..."

ladytiffany24 - You can untag yourself. Also, you can change your settings so that anything someone tags you in or tries to post to your timeline has to be approved by you before it'll show up.

Oh, I have it set up so I have to approve tags. But it's just the fact that she keeps referring to her as her baby girl, or our baby girl. It drives me up the wall!!!!

I would not approve anything where she does this. If she's asks, you can be honest or just say you haven't had time to approve your tags.
sstwinklinglites--best of luck on your trip! It's crazy how much I packed when we went to MO over Xmas for DD. ladytiffany24--oh that would annoy me so much about MIL. I had to change settings for me to approve a tag before it was posted by of crazy family members. Ugh. I feel ya--that's YOUR baby! @mrscatfarmer--yay for a great hair day!!!
RANT- As I mentioned in another post, sad that DH is traveling for work this week:( RAVE- I found out that the in laws are traveling here over Valentines Day to watch DD so me and DH can go grab dinner! Woohoo! We haven't had time away together yet. She's the best MIL and isn't overwhelming like my own family, so I always welcome them!

Rant: IDK why, but work blocks almost all of the PIP's on PB. This is really annoying and I either I have to wait for my phone to load in this concrete jungle or look at everything when I get home. My office is where cell phone signals go to die.

I would lodge a complaint
I'm sure they will get right on my request to have them unblock something that isn't work related, lol.
ladytiffany24 was your hotel packed with hockey fans? I imagine Columbus was a little crazy this weekend!
sstwinklinglites love the bed head! So cute! My little man still has just a little peach fuzz. :)Good luck with your trip. We've been talking about flying to FL for Spring Break and I'm completely overwhelmed by the idea of flying with the baby. Maybe you can give me some advice when you get back!
My rant: I had a weight loss goal for Feb 1, and I'm not as close as I'd like to be. Not ready to admit failure quite yet though.
Rave: Got an extra 90 minutes because of the snow this morning. My favorite thing about Cincinnati. When I was in school, it would have to snow way more than this to get delays/cancellations.

sstwinklinglites love his hair and standing so cute! @mrscatfsrmer13 what is this hair treatment you speak of? I need hair help asap! jmebormann traveling sucks, hope he gets delayed a little for you.
My rant/aw in one: I'm finally flying back home today from work convention. But because of the time difference I won't get home till 8 and DD will be asleep already. It will be so funny when I come into wake her up instead of DH and Mil, can't wait to snuggle her-it's been ridiculously hard being away.
I guess my lo was just going to skip the army crawls and scoots and wait to just full out crawl. He was really whiney this am. I'm like- maybe sleep instead of crawl around your crib at night.

vlagroupie It's super easy, and does wonders for my hair and scalp. I jump in a steamy hot shower but don't get my hair wet, then rub about 5tbs of melted organic cold-pressed coconut oil all through my hair and scalp, throw my hair up in a bun and let the oil soak in for several hours. When I'm ready to wash the oil out, I shampoo, rinse, and repeat 2-3x (my hair still feels/looks greasy after only 1 wash). I usually do this on a day when I know I won't be leaving the house, but it will work great (if not better) if you put the oil in at night and wash in the morning.
ETA: You may need more of less oil for your hair, I have thick, curly, just below the shoulder length hair. I just keep a jar of oil under the sink and bring it in the shower with me so the hot water/ steam will melt the oil.Coconut oil melts at like 72 or 73 degrees so it's a pretty fast process and I don't have to worry about measuring out oil or washing extra dishes.

This made me laugh. My DS has been known to sleep-crawl backward into the corner of his crib and then wake himself up crying because he can't go any farther. (We never had army crawls or scoots either)
jmebormann and vlagroupie Safe travels for everyone! I hope this winter storm on the east coast doesn't cause too many headaches for you!

mrscatfarmer13 - Not sure if it has changed but the W2 situation happened with me several years ago. I don't know if it has changed, but KY state tax rates were much higher than Ohio and I had to pay more than what the refund I was getting from Ohio was. Kentucky also wants their money as soon as you file your taxes. You don't have to pay, but watch for their notices and when you send payment in make sure you put specific instructions to apply it to what is due.

mom2boxers - Thanks for the heads up, we have only received a refund from KY about 50% of the years we've been married, so owing is not something we are unfamiliar with. My H is emailing their HR/accounting person today to find out what happened. He claims that he filled out a KY w-4 when he started working for them, hopefully this was just a clerical error. If this isn't something his employer can fix, I'm estimating that we will owe less than $200 to KY so that's not terrible.
