DH farted during our fetal echo today. Total silence in the room and he totally audibly farted. The ultrasound tech made up an excuse to leave the room for a minute (likely to go laugh) and my reaction when the door shut was a combination of laughter and WTAF

My daughter is so hyper today. I'm pretty sure her word count from the last 2 hours is 632568997643169953
are half of those words "Mommy. Mommy. Mommy."?? That's half of what Hunter says all the friggin time.
A lot of that. Followed by a long drawn out story. Then since she apparently didn't think I understood the first time, a rephrased version of said story. Oh, and then 3 more times with 3 rephrased versions. I'm not sure how she still has a voice.
So on Friday (or whenever that was), I posted in the thread about committing to a name saying that we had been pretty set on Adelaide Christine and were just testing it out. Yeah, as soon as I finished typing that and mentioned it to DH, we somehow switched to Nora Christine. Since then, we have both found that saying it was so much more natural. What a quick and funny switcharoo! Now to see if it sticks -- and whether Nora or Norah is best.
I'm waiting for a conference call and watching the news, hoping the predictions for snow don't change. As long as I don't have to go to work and I can play the pregnancy card and get DH to clear the driveway, I'm all about a blizzard. 12-14 inches? Bring it on!

SassyPants150 this is random but how many classes total did you teach pre pregnancy? And do you do personal training or anything? I am getting my health coach certification so I was just wondering if you have done anything in that are
First, thank you ladies for the entertainment! I'm sitting here at the dealership because they had to replace the lock in my car door. I posted in the Monday bitch thread about having to crawl in to the drivers seat from the passenger side all morning. Thankfully it's covered by warranty.
I'm seriously hoping our snow starts tonight so that the banks will be closed tomorrow. If they actually open it takes full on armageddon for them to close us down. Last year, by the time they sent us home during one storm, the cops and emergency responders had been pulled off the road. So unsafe.

orangepickle - Haha! Hilarious! I have a related story: My 3 yr old DD had two of her good friends over yesterday for a tea/cake "princess" party. As the ladies arrived, DD is standing in the living room and pauses, lets of a big one and turns 4 shades of red. She stands as still as possible and darts her eyes in the direction of her friends, but they didn't hear/notice it. She sighs and says quickly "Ok. It's okay!" Then runs. I about lost it.
DD just screamed for an hour before finally passing out for her nap. She's been having meltdowns all morning. She's cutting molars so I have her Tylenol an hour before nap time. But holy fuck. My nerves are shot. And I usually can't nap with her after she gets me all stressed out, so no nap for me today. Of course on the day I work till midnight. I miss hour long jogs where she slept the whole time. /whine

smilz4782 - Ugh....I feel for you. My DD was a wreck yesterday. She was exhausted by 3pm (after her tea/cake party), and was so tired she was angry. She wouldn't nap and was throwing a fit. I sent her to her room around 3:20, and she ended up falling asleep around 4.
orangepickle I read this then looked over at your avatar and I imagine that's how you and your DH looked when the tech left the room. That is too funny!
Two old friends from our small town back home just posted their pregnancy announcement online. One is 7weeks and the other is 5weeks. Get a fucking life..are you kidding me?!
This baby never sleeps. Like EVER. She is thumping and jumping around ALL night long to the point that it wakes me up about every half an hour. I'm so grateful that she is healthy & active but JFC...take a nap already!! She is currently bouncing my MacBook off of my belly as I type.
Any mama's have some tricks/pointers? I'm desperate.
I know this might sound crazy. But I slept train my baby before birth. I woke her up around 8 am if she seemed asleep. Then maybe around lunch. Then at night I would not let my husband touch my belly or play.
With my first he would play with my belly around 10:30-11pm at night and when she was born she would wake up at that time every night. Took us forever to get over that habit.
The last child likes to be in bed by 9:30, it's been like that since birth. She's 1 1/2 now.. So maybe it seems hippieish but it seemed like it worked

The baby didn't move much Saturday or yesterday. And, the movements i did feel were much fainter than its been in a couple of weeks. I was bored reading other boards I read that a girl had a placenta tear after a chiropractor appointment, which I just had last week. Freaked me the eff out! I was thankful to get the strong pokes and jabs as I was getting ready to fall asleep.
ETA: the reason it freaked me out wad the pain she felt right after the adjustment, the decreased movement, and the sensitive area when she pushed on her belly. Good grief a complete thought would be good!

I'm quoting honeylemon specifically just to get more of the Biden gif. Now obviously that post is crazy. You can't sleep train in utero - I could barely do it with a 7 month old. But my friend and I had a related conversation in the depth of our sleep deprivation when our last kiddos were about 4 months old. It had to do with funding a research study about women who work night shifts while pregnant and then switch to a day routine after baby arrives. Would the mom's movement at night while baby was in utero -assuming it does lull baby to sleep - have any effect on baby's sleep patterns once born?
Perhaps I should go find the stupid question thread.

This just sounds crazy all around, like I had to read it several times. Who sleep trains in the utero.. like wtah?
I got a package of double stuffed Oreos. DH doesn't like Oreos. So I took the tops off of them all and only ate the creamy side. Now I have a bunch of blah side Oreos and I don't know what to do with them.

rocksforludo I don't see how anything could sleep train a baby before they are born. Babies will always wake up all night to eat because their stomachs can't hold much milk. The first thing parents usually do to start off sleep training to try to teach the difference between night and day. Usually you don't turn on the lights during nighttime wakings, keep it quiet and try to go right back to sleep after eating. During the day there's more activity.
I have a box of ice cream sandwiches in my freezer that I totally forgot about all weekend. I was looking around, trying to decide what to make for supper when I saw them.

Holy shit. Apparently I read the academic calendar wrong and my finals aren't until the week of May 18th. I'm due May 16th. So let's hope I have a really understanding professor or this baby decides to come late. Oops

AW - Oooooh my goodness, look what DH's parents decided to get us as their baby gift! I sold DH on the City Mini over the Chicco travel system so I'm a very, very happy camper. And look how tiny the box is! It's going to be perfect!!

Oh dear lord. I'm now mortified that you think I think this. What I was aiming at with that post was that sleep deprivation makes you have ridiculous conversations because you lose your mind....and that stupid questions like that not only go through your head but you actually speak them out loud to real live people. For the record I don't think you can sleep train a baby before it's born or for some time after it's born.
I had ten min alone in the shower, when I got out I was concerned DD was dead or something (she usually stands there and whines and gets soaked holding the curtain back to see me) Nope. Kiddo was "drawing" with a pen on a pad of paper and watching hulu on the laptop... She climbed up to the table the laptop was on via her short high chair (sitting on the floor mean to block access to that end table) to turn it on... duuuude
I usually feel the babe moving around fairly low, almost in my pelvic bone and occasionally right under my belly button. Today while folding clothes, she kicked high and hard enough to wobble my boob. My husband should have no issues feeling her from the outside now, right? Regardless of his crappy, mechanic hands, right?
My DH complains that the baby won't kick for him but he randomly will put his hands on me when the baby's not moving and be all disappointed about it. And when he has been kicked he hasn't felt it. And I've seen baby kicking from the outside but he's missed that, too. I know it will happen eventually!
