I'm headed out for my run! I just thought about this: my friend and I got pedicures yesterday. She wanted a facial so I booked those for today. And I already had a massage scheduled for tomorrow! This frequency of pampering has happened never before, and may not happen again. I got the glow app to track all the fertility stuff, and it told me to indulge and pamper myself right now... :-D gldnbearz, the weekend is just beginning- you have time to get your haircut and massage too! Do it!
Happy weekend! I'm taking the day off completely no working (I've been working a few hours at least every weekend day)!
Have a play date this morning with a friend from high school who has a lo a few months older than Max. Then we are going swimming at the pool at my H's school!
I bought a fitbit to use for a fitness challenge at work...wore it last night to track sleep and it was a but depressing this morning (awake 7 times with 21 episodes of restlessness) lo is having a rough patch of sleep lately with lots of waking up and thrashing and since we co-sleep that means lots of crappy sleep for me:-( oh well he will sleep some day!
zengal, I hope your run was good this morning! I miss running. I'm glad you've had time to get some pampering. It is so important for us mommies.
spikesmom, Good for you on not working today. The play date and swimming sound fun! Your fitbit sleep report sounds about how mine would be as of late. Tired is the new normal. They do sleep eventually.
Yay for such an indulgent weekend zengal! spikesmom enjoy your day off of absolutely no work!! Also I get depressed with my Fitbit sleep tracking too. I average about 3 hours of sleep a night between Liams terrible sleep and my occasionally insomnia.
On our road trip! Last night's meal was single greatest meal I have ever had in my life! And basically this whole weekend is good food all around!
I literally want to go back to this restaurant and eat my entire life away there.
Going on a play date after first nap, but trying to find somewhere indoors. It's so hot and my KU friend can't handle a playground. Maybe lunch and target? Babies like shopping?
Oh my, I'm curious what my sleep would look like if it tracked wake ups and restlessness! spikesmom relish your work-free day! jjh1119 I must hear the meal of your life described as a server would describe it. Please? pixie523 we just did target and then lunch! With my KU friend! Apparently, my aesthetician couldn't make it in today, so while my friend enjoyed her facial, baby and I went to target. Got some bows to hold her bangs back! She liked the shopping a lot...until she suddenly didn't.
zengal In not sure I want to track regularly because its a bit depressing! it was a pretty great day!
@i8rg8r yup I am not sure what I would do with an entire nights sleep! Max's longest stretch ever was 4 hours and he did that twice about 5.5 months ago... He's worth every second of sleep deprivation!
@jjh119 sounds like you are having a good trip! What did you have in the single greatest meal? I love when I find a good restaurant!
pixie523 I hope you had a fun play date, lunch and target seems like a great choice:-)
We had a blast swimming today and then we had dinner at a great bbq restaurant! Lo's top tooth is poking through and he is fussy tonight, I just gave a dose of motrin to see if it helps keep me from being a human chew toy tonight.
Haha it was a portuguese restaurant. Not sure if you know what type of food that is?
Mozambique style chicken wings- super crispy, spicy, garlicky and delicious Portuguese steak with a delicious sauce- the region of Portugal the food was from was different from what I was used to growing up so the sauce was more of a red wine reduction, hand cut potato crisps and a salad.
Then dessert? Dessert was fried ice cream. Chocolate ice cream wrapped in a delicious pillowy dough, super crispy and doused in hot fudge and salted caramel sauce and a sprinkling of salt on top.
I met with my book club last night. We had a blast, we did a clothing swap. We all cleaned closets brought clothes, swapped out and then made huge donations piles. So dress for success and Salvation Army are getting tons of clothing.
Today we have a first birthday party to attend this afternoon. At some point I need to work in school stuff. For a bit.
LO did great in the nursery at church today. They said she was happy the whole time. Yay! She even waved goodbye to the nursery workers. Pretty soon she'll be crawling and have to move up to the older baby room.
So remember our sippy cup discussion? We are having great success with these old (I used them when I was a baby) cups that my parents have. I'm not sure if they still make them, but they look pretty similar to Take and Toss cups. They're The First Years brand and 7 oz size. LO doesn't have to work very hard to get the water out, and she's really starting to get the hang of it.
Baby slept all night in her crib!! It was crazy. She didn't want to go to sleep without me, but my friend is here so we wrestled with bedtime a bit because I wasn't going to bed. Finally I just cradled her in my arms standing and talking in the kitchen, until she passed out and I laid her down!! Of course I woke up wondering where she was and why do my boobs hurt so bad, but still- how awesome, right?
Hello! Driving by with a dilemma...we have a nanny come in for 30 hours per week..this was working really well when I worked mainly from home and I just worked a few hours each morning while lo sleeps or plays. With my promotion I have only been home on full day in like a month and I really need more hours because I'm traveling a lot. My current nanny doesn't want to work more hours but I really like her and I'm comfortable with her watching Max. I'm just overwhelmed with all the juggling of schedules. I don't know if I should tey to fond a nanny who will work more hours because my job will hopefully slow down at some point and I will be home more. Or if I should just find a daycare. I am so torn because I love having him home on the days I do work from home....not sure what the point of this is except to get it off my chest. Any suggestions?
jjh1119 I might try that it's just that my schedule changes regularly, I have no set schedule so one week I could be gone all 4 days or only gone 1 or 2 :-(
spikesmom that stinks. Is there no way possible to make a set schedule? Perhaps see if your nanny is willing to work more for a few weeks until your schedule can even out?
We had someone at a restaurant the other day ask, "Oh how cute! Is she almost 2?"
I was like "uhhhhh no.... She's 8 months old..."
So I either have a giant baby or that person really sucks at guessing kids' ages!
People just don't think before they speak. When dd was a couple of weeks old and DS1 was 1 1/2, we were at the checkout and the woman asked if they were twins! Uh...yea, the big one ate everything and grew into a toddler in the womb.
I have tried to write a post for days now and get busy every time. I then get logged out and have to start over. Things are so busy at work and we are getting ready to send the older two kiddos to school. They are so excited.
We got to go on our 1st date in a year. We celebrated our 11 year anniversary on Friday. We went out last night fot a couple of hours while my parents watched the kids. It was nice to talk without being interrupted.

Some daycare centers may work with you on that. I worked for a daycare that did (large chain with many locations) so it's possible. We had some part time kids that would be there 2 days one week, 4 the next, etc.
Over an hour and I am still trying to get this babe to go to sleep. I don't even know why I try to put him in his crib. He will be awake in a few hours anyway. Ugh.
^^^my thoughts exactly. I tagged out after an hour and a half. H had her to sleep in 20 minutes. I do not anticipate sleeping very long before she wakes up again...

Hey guys! I promise to catch up later but I had an amazing and exhausting weekend. Friday was the baseball game and Isaac was so great with everyone. He clapped and danced. He also tried singing along with the anthem. He was so awesome with my boss and his family. Saturday I hit up the carters sale and got a ton of adorable outfits for cheap. Sunday we went swimming and had taco night at my parents. I gave Isaac Spanish rice. A little mushed but he absolutely loved it. I can't wait to read everyone's updates :-)
