alwayslastzz I also found out I wasn't heartless lmao. It took me a while... I didn't cry hearing first heartbeat or first ultrasound.. While almost everyone else was sobbing !
nurserachel22 - I have a love/hate relationship with pregnancy, but since you asked, here is the part I love:
- I love knowing I have a creation inside of me that is MINE. Sounds selfish, but it’s amazing in itself to know we created another human being, and that human being is going to look up to you, depend on you, love you (until they become a teen…ha!). It’s just great knowing you are growing a mini version of you. - When he kicks/jabs/moves, I feel like he is wanting to communicate with me in some way. What I mean by that is it’s like he enjoys hearing my voice, enjoying the foods I am eating, etc. It’s like I share a secret that only myself and the baby gets. - It’s nice to not have a period. ‘Nuff said. - It’s also nice to not have to worry about birth control!
HTH!
lgsdesigner see that stuff is cute. I enjoy kicks, no period & bc... But I have literally talked to people who are like OMG I MISS BEING PREGNANT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I feel the same as you, but I told my friend to just hold off on the pregnant train haha
Please ignore the dumb face I'm making at DH. I swear, I do have a chin. I just love the WTF face that koala is making at me. It's from our trip to Australia in July, right before I got KTFU. There aren't many pictures of me because I'm normally like the second picture.
I miss hard alcohol and HIIT. Can't wait to really get my heart rate up there at the gym. I'll probably celebrate with a mojito!
But I've learned that I'm really into the idea of a med-free birth. Prepregnancy I always said I'd want all the drugs and now not so much. More importantly, I've learned that life without body issues is possible for me. I've never cared so little about what I looked like but also thought that I looked okay the majority of the time. I hope this sticks around.

Mojitos FTW! And I too am teetering on the edge of a med-free birth. I'm not ruling anything out just yet but I like the idea of going med-free... I guess I will just have to see how my body reacts to pain and if I can get through it.

Here is me about to hit the town with my BFF. We are in a hotel room in San Fransisco.
And headed to a fire-dancing community event.
We are Burners-aka, people who go to Burning Man. So I fire dance and hula hoop and we get dressed up in crazy costumes and do fun things. Burning Man is a pretty hard-core event that involves camping in the desert, intense heat, and amazing parties. It will be a couple years before we are able to go again. And even longer before we can take our kids with us.
I like being pregnant. I'm excited that we will have our own baby at the end of this. My symptoms have been pretty easy so far. One thing 'Ive discovered is that I need more friends! I don't have many friends in this area.
After pregnancy: I want to go back to regular sex. I've been really uncomfortable since getting KU. And drinking. I miss drinking so much. We want to get pregnant again pretty quickly after this one, so idk how that will work.
I am slightly in awe of your ladies who lift, run marathons and do any kind of competition.
I like to sit on the couch. A lot.
Edit: I just found this picture of me (in the purple), 10 days before the monster's due date. My belly button is indicating that the turkey is clearly done.
You have that "I'm so effing done being pregnant" look in your eyes. I've had that many-a-times. I'm anticipating it again in April
Really cute dress BTW!
Hahaha... That was about the sum of it! Although I can feel that look starting to creep in to my face already, haha.

freddyisready that leather shit is hot on you! I hear burning man is hot. I also miss regular sex. It's so freaking uncomfortable! Glad I have an understanding guy and not a scum bag.

1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it. This photo is me (on the right) and 2 friends taking part in the Rainbow run to raise money for Naomi House. It's a charity that provides hospice care and respite for children with life limiting illnesses and their families. It was 5days after BFP.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? I like to do crafts like sewing, knitting and crochet. I do regular fundraising for Naomi House and my company has a scheme to double all my fundraising. If I can dig it out I can pop in a photo of my mum and I after we completed a marathon walk. I would be doing the marathon walk again this year but I think childbirth might be enough of a challenge in May!
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? I'm not as indestructible as I thought and I have to learn to ask for and accept help.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Stay awake past 9pm! Although I'm guessing I'm going to be begging for any opportunity to sleep then!
robotpcr-- you are like a real like Princess Merida!
Aw, thanks! We called that my Pixar movie since I also lived in Scotland. And as I was walking down the aisle at our wedding DH's cousin's kid said something to that effect very loudly. It was super cute. I used to get Little Mermaid all the time so it's a nice change.
I was actually 10w in this pic, but not showing, so close enough. And I can't figure out how to copy and paste on this app, grrr.
1. I'm rock climbing on a top rope in Joshua Tree. This particular climb always scared me because it's so exposed and has what we like to call a "pucker factor" (makes your asshole pucker when you look down). I passed up doing this on 3 different trips and finally found the cajones to do it.
2. I don't usually climb much, my husband does a lot and I'll join in from time to time. My main activities were Zumba, yoga and Insanity. I can still do these except Insanity, but can't say that I miss it. I hate cardio!
3. I've discovered that I have emotions! DH likes to make fun of me for not crying out our wedding ceremony, but it's just hard for me to express emotions. I've definitely been more expressive with pregnancy!
4. I can't wait to drink again. Wine, martinis, margaritas, mint juleps, and a good ol' shot of vodka. Oh, and looking forward to a massage while laying on my belly again.

1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it. First is a wedding DH and I went to in July. Second is from my fitness competition about a year before we started trying to get pregnant.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? I worked out hard and watched what I ate. Those consumed most of my time. I was too scared to work out in the beginning of my pregnancy and by the time I felt ok doing it I just couldn't motivate myself when I can't push myself as hard so decided to take a break til post baby.
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? My lack of willpower and I remembered how much of a foodie I am! I also have learned to handle my anxiety. Now if I could just learn some patience...
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Work out again, eat tiramisu and drink wine
1. First pic is from our honeymoon in Mykonos Greece. 2 months later, we got pregnant with DD1 Second pic is after DD was born-I was my SIL's maid of honor Third pic is from this summer right before we found out we were pregnant with DS
2. I was just more active before getting pregnant. When I'm pregnant I kinda feel like I'm hungover ALL day every day. I miss Sunday Fundays at the bar too
3. I have discovered that I hate being pregnant. I absolutely adore the baby at the end-but I just don't like how being pregnant makes me feel
4. I can't wait to hangout with friends at the bar and have a drink(s)! And be able to chase after DD without my back killing me.
ETA: it wouldn't let me upload my pics because "the forum has reached it's max". Will try again later!
1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it. This pic is of DH and I from our first married Christmas (2013). The stars aligned and our NFL teams were playing each other (different conferences so it rarely happens!!!) the weekend before Christmas so we drove up to Cincinnati for the game as our Christmas gift to each other. My team--the Vikings--lost (as usual) but we had a blast together.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? I used to run ALOT. I also did Insanity every day and hot yoga once a week. DH and I would have the occasional "drunken movie/snack night" where we would make White Russians or Margaritas, binge on snack food, and watch a comedy on Netflix. We also used to stay up really late...even on work nights.
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? I really love cheese!!! LOL. But really...probably that I CAN take naps. I also have really started to get excited for DH to be a dad. This was part of why I married him but now being pregnant and thinking about our impending parenthood I have realized even more that this is a HUGE part of why I married him and why I love him.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Take hot yoga classes again!!! Also just drink a good beer.
**edit: tinypic won't work so there is no photo...oops.
freddyisready that leather shit is hot on you! I hear burning man is hot. I also miss regular sex. It's so freaking uncomfortable! Glad I have an understanding guy and not a scum bag.
Thanks! And yes, I'm so happy that DH is understanding and doesn't pressure me. He has the patience of a saint, literally.
robotpcr-- you are like a real like Princess Merida!
freddyisready- that is not at all what I thought you looked like. I am in shock! I guess I just aleas pictured Liv Tyler behind the keyboard, haha
Lol. Now that we aren't on TB, I'd like to change my avatar, but I know its so confusing to people when that happens, lol. I feel like we have a bit more privacy here, and that people I know irl won't find me.
1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it.
This is from my sister's wedding in July.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy?
Drink. All my other hobbies (boating, going to the beach, camping etc) I'm not doing right now more due to winter then pregnancy. I'm so thankful to be pregnant during winter, not because I don't think I could do things like go boating and to the beach pregnant but because I think I would be too uncomfortable to do them if I were mega-pregnant.
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy?
I thought I would be a huge baby about all things pregnancy related (symptoms, not being able to do things etc) but it's turning out to be better then I expected.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby?
Go out and have a few drinks, drink more then 1 glass of wine at a time, use the hot-tub

Dh and I at our wedding before being announced as Mr & Mrs
The selfie not really pre preg as I was 5 weeks but most recent pic I could find . this was on our 1 year anniversary cruise / last big hoorah before babies. here I was in turks & caicos
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? I did work out haha havent been back since after our cruise at 5 weeks, thats when the nausea kicked my ass. Snowboarding is also an activity I don't do right now
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? I don't like pregnancy as much as I thought I would.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Eat some sushi lol and get back into working out
1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it.
#selfie aka profile pic
SO and I in one of our many spur of the moment trips. I will miss that for sure. My coconut is alcoholic.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? As an exercise I loved spinning. It's extremely satisfying but it's hard to do it with a belly. I'm sure I still could but I'm just lazy.
Activities I miss going to a bar and listening to music and having a beer. I don't really feel like going out to bars or anything past midnight. The cig smoke and the crowded space will probably drive me insane.
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? I am stronger than I ever thought I was. Not just physically, but mentally. It has not been an easy road whatsoever, but it will make holding my little girl that much more gratifying.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Sushi. Beer. Laying on my stomach. The desire to actually WANT sex. So many things.
Edit: add more content since everyone shared so much!
1) Post a pic of yourself pre-pregnancy (if you have one). Tell us about it. This pic is from this past August at a wedding, so about two weeks before we conceived! I don't have a pic of me before DD1 but I pretty much look the same except for shorter hair and smaller boobs. I was still breastfeeding in this pic and stopped a few weeks later.
2) What did you do (activities, events, hobbies, etc) pre-pregnancy that you don’t do now due to pregnancy? I used to work out a bit more, now it only happens 2x a week if I'm lucky. I miss hot yoga so much!
3) Anything you’ve discovered about yourself during the pregnancy? I do not have a lot of patience while pregnant. I have to constantly give myself pep talks. I think being a SAHM to a bossy toddler really does a number on my pregnant hormonal self. The whole thing also makes me way more emotional than I care to be.
4) What is something you cannot wait to do after you have the baby? Have some spicy tuna and more than 4oz a wine in a sitting! I also want to start weight training again.
ETA: ah! My pic is enormous! Sorry - idk how to fix that... ETA2: tried to fix but I couldn't

The first picture is from our wedding 4 years ago.
The second picture was taken in Florida 3 months before my BFP.
The only thing I really don't do is drink, and over exert myself in physical activities.
Something I've discovered about myself is how easy quitting smoking can be. I've smoked since I was a teenager and the day I started my stims is the day I stopped smoking.

These are from last March when DH and I got married in Jamaica. Pretty sure the second one was on the drive home from a booze cruise. I would do anything to be back there right now!
Pre-pregnancy I was a runner. I was training for a half marathon when I got my BFP, and would have still ran it if I didn't get hit so hard with ms. Once that got better I tried to get going again but it couldn't run for more than a few minutes before I had to stop because of all the pressure on my bladder. So walking it is. I also loved hot yoga and miss it so much. And a nice big glass of Pinot Grigio.
I've learned that I am way more relaxed about pregnancy than I thought I would be. I'm normally a worrier and thought for sure every new symptom that popped up I would freak out about! But nope, not really. My attitude has been more like "meh, it's probably normal". Hopefully it doesn't backfire on me.
I can't wait to do all the things I mentioned earlier. Run without feeling like I'm gonna piss myself, go to a hot yoga glass, and enjoy a nice glass of wine
